Actually, I didn't. I never really enjoyed ketchup. I'm a mustard person but even if I did like ketchup, I can't eat it. Unlike most of the world, I can't eat high ammounts of grease, fat, spices, and acids. So eat your ketchup and be happy. It's for medical reasons, not because I don't like it.

The reason this works is that ketchup contains acetic acid which has corrosive properties. The acid in the ketchup removes the corrosion on the penny, this acid is also know as vinegar, which I find delicious and is harmless as far as I know, its not gross, its science, not to mention vinegar is included on the list of ingredients. Believe it or not Heinz ketchup is not trying to make you glow a night.

I know there's vinegar in it. I know vinegar isn't gross. It's just disgusting that it CAN eat the corroded germs off of a penny. Just because it's harmless doesn't mean it can't do some sort of other damage. It is a type of acid and, as far as I know, acid isn't the best thing to be digesting in whole amounts. Your assumption about me thinking Heinz ketchup is going to cause a person to glow at night, is off the wall.

A lot of people who don't like vinegar at all eat ketchup. Plus, the acidic content that's in tomatoes should be enough in ketchup. Why put vinegar in something that's already got acid in it? Why add High Fructose Corn Syrup to Ketchup if there is vinegar in it? Think about that instead of trying to prove you're more intellectual than someone who won't matter 30 years from now.

The amount and strength of acid in ketchup will not kill you, mabey if you drank a gallon of it you would throw up, but not because of the acetic acid, which is added as a preservative and for flavor, not to raise the ph of the tomato sauce, which is what ketchup would be with out the addition ingredients such as corn surp
