@BroUghtBySea although you make a good point, itachi himself, and other people as well, have said that the only way to break free from a mangekyou(idk if i spelled it right) sharingan genjutsu is if u have the sharingan as well. Also, the reason the first hokage beat madara was primarily because the hokage's wood style jutsu is a weakness of madara's teleportation technique, or something like that. On top of all this, the eternal sharingan still has its secrets yet to be exposed.

Amaterasu and Susano'o are absorbed by fat pain or dispelled by god realm shinra tensei (both are ninjutsu and chakra based). tsukuyomi wouldn't do anything because dead bodies don't feel pain (lol). normal genjutsu can be broken out of since there is 6 of them. and itachi has no way to defeat that invincible dog summon. pain can also crush itachi with chibaku tensei and that thing that he used to destroy the leaf village. pain overall just has a shit ton of firepower.
