@Gord185 I'm guessing it's because this might be a really badly designed port. I routinely play the arcade version in a local game place, and the graphics (while noticeably outdated) look a lot better than this and that's saying something.

When I download HOTD on MAME it says that the ROM does not work and that you must wait for an update or something like that. How did you get this?

but it will be soon

until then MAME 0.115 has Time Crisis 1 as a playable game so if you need a Lightgun game for the computer you know what to do

the Time Crisis rom is easy to find

The sound is really wierd since it isn't 100% emulated yet but the graphics and gameplay are there
