If you live in a bad economic area, such as Ohio. All a marketing degree qualifies you for is doing door-to-door sales. And it sucks. I freakin hate it. Pyramid scheme companies that insult your integrity and rip people off. Waste of a degree unless you are in the right place and right time, or know someone. Way too many "who you know" jobs out there today rather than "what you know" jobs.
