  • I don't care what anyone says - screw the classical composers and anyone else who has ever written a piece of music - this album is the greatest composition of music in the history of the world and to choose Richard Burton as the narrator was pure and utter genius.

  • I remember listening to this on C Casette, and my life would be a little bit poorer without it.

  • I remember listening to this on cassette tape while my mom and I were driving up to Wyoming one summer. I first thought, "what on earth is this?" (I was ten at the time.) Then, a year or so later, I discovered my parents had this on vinyl! So I put the headphones on and dropped the needle on the first side of the first record...and my mind, instantly, was changed. What a difference headphones makes! Anyway, this is what music really is! Wish we would get back to this point. ROCK ON!

  • I am 14 years old, I got introduced to this by my dad when i was 9. Even know I still get chills of this opening Eve Of War. The music, how in sync it is. Justin Hayward, what a voice!

THIS my friends, is the true, original definition to Music. Im sorry to all whom enjoy it, but i really cannot see how transformer-like noises booming out of speakers at any random point is music? If you ask me, its a racket.

This is and always will be, a masterpeice. This is how music should be.

    Peace out.

  • @LilMuppet1365 Well, fucking, said. [Hayward beats the one below, even more than light years.

Justin{ [Bieber is an abomination to singing.

Screw any big artist today, this shall remain one of the best tracks that I'll hear in my life time...and sadly be a part of an album which may be the peak of music in history, as today's is utter crap, no questions asked.

  • @spongebot64 As one wise person said to me.

    Well, fucking, said.

    ;)

  • Still have the record at home ... fucking priceless piece of art ... thank you Jeff Wayne, Richard Burton and Orson Wells !

  • Can't wait to see this in December 2012

  • @xRapidClaWx I saw it in Dublin a while ago, it's very good live!

  • I loved this when I was a kid...i'm 30 now and it STILL freaks me out! So you know I fully intend to inflict it on my kids one day! ;oP

  • My grandmother gave me this Album when it waz first released back in the day......I waz 8 years old........blew my mind......and MY music career waz seeded....Love iT...

  • I love the words Burton says. I have always thought we are a lab test to someone more supreme to us. His/Her "Earth Project" is really good," look at the little things you have created" they say, His/Her parents are really proud, you see, no one else managed it. They were given the same materials, but they all failed And we are still being watched, but its just a science project for them. Hope she/he gets a A* for us?!

  • @stiglaa You know what?????? To me that sound like a good idea for a TV show or a movie.....

  • @robinalexlewis

Thanks.......maybe it will be one day, if we dont destroy everything before its to late and no one will be left to watch it!. Just my luck!.

    Stiglaa x

  • This scared me so much as a child.

  • this got lots of airplay on album oriented rock radio (back before the consultants ruined radio) back in the day. I miss radio like this.

  • superb! Fantastic! Amazing! Extraordinary! i grew up with this and it never ever gets old. the best album ever created along side with dark side of the moon and 3 feet high and rising.

  • My God, this takes me back. This is like the Bach of today, should go down in history with all the other genius composers. Love the marriage of traditional orchestral shit with the synths etc. Orechestral?? Say Tennants Super.!!!! ha.

  • Does anyone know what's happened the the CGI movie that was planned for this? I know some CGI is shown at the live shows, but I was hoping Jeff Wayne would release a full movie.

  • We've got this on Tape, and it's so damned awesome. We don't have the radio in a car, so I contrantly put this on. I think I drive my mother mad.

  • I still get a lil amotional listening to this. i used to have it on origional audio tape. My mum nearly screamed once. she was sick of this song :D

  • I remember playing this for my son on the vinyl when he was 7 or 8 yo. He had never seen a record and said..WOW daddy it has music on both sides? He grew up with cd's. I still smile when I think of it. Love you son.

  • @justin04457

Nice story. This is the second album I ever bought (as about a 10 yo) after 'Star Wars and Other Galactic Space Funk'. Both unforgettable.

  • @justin04457 My dad did the same for me. I used to always ask him to put this on for me, even though it frightened the hell out of me.

  • @lfcloads9 Me too ^^. My dad only had part 1 on casette growing up - I didn't get to hear part 2 till he got the cd when I was in my mid teens! :P
