The reason there is no break-down of what white is, is because as a society, anything non-'color' is white, and thus the majority. essentially, it is a political-correctness/equal opportunity problem created in the 70s/80s.

If you don't want to give your name you don't have to. It is pretty easy to gather however so your not really do much good or "Protecting" yourself. The questions are common information:Name, age, DOB, race,and home status. after 72 years your own descendants can use this information to do a family tree. Grandpa's name was Person 1. Grandma's name was Person 2.

PII (Personal Identifiable Information) is protected by the same laws that require it. The government doesn't use it. The Census Bureau does. Plus, if you'd like to pay less on Mortgages, Rent, etc. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS! And if you continue to refuse to answer the questions, you could be subject to a fine or even some prison time. I think the maximum penalty for refusing to participate in the Census is six months in federal prison and/or a $5,000 fine.
