  • haha, he said "even the President can't force us to give any personal information over". I guess President Roosevelt didn't get that memo when he ordered the census to give him the names and addresses of the Japanese-Americans, so he could round them up during WWII. You are naive if you think the government won't do whatever it wants under the umbrella of "national security".

  • It must be tough getting all that shit out of his mouth after work.

  • i'm for re-mapping the US, because according to my county office, my house is 45' north of where it actually is.

  • @10zimmer How does enumeration affect re-mapping? Maybe I'm missing something.

  • Count People, yes . . . . NOT GPS their front doors.

  • @BloodTar GPS location is no different to address.

  • The census only seems to be interested in people of color and not white people. Think about... I doesn't get into Anglo-Saxon, Irish, Italian, Russian, German, British, Swedish, etc. Why so many breakdowns of the colored race? What a racist thing this CENSUS. What does it mean?

  • @TheCadre13 It means that our government has laws, supported by the people, that are meant to help the "minority" races (ie, non-white). The reason there is no break-down of what white is, is because as a society, anything non-'color' is white, and thus the majority. essentially, it is a political-correctness/equal opportunity problem created in the 70s/80s.

  • ya it says you can take an enumeration and you are asking for much more In addition you take Census Data Every month Every year. so you are not being honest. if you look at my profile you can see how to handle Census takers.

  • If you don't want to give your name you don't have to. It is pretty easy to gather however so your not really do much good or "Protecting" yourself. The questions are common information:Name, age, DOB, race, and home status. after 72 years your own descendants can use this information to do a family tree. Grandpa's name was Person 1. Grandma's name was Person 2.

For some reason instead of being a community a small number choose to hide in fear. Your welcome to do so, or come join the group.

  • They need names to make sure no one is skipped or counted twice. How can you expect an accurate count if we have to depend on the honesty of people to just say "2 people" or "24 people" with no verification to back it up?

  • My ass, tell that to the Japanese who were sent to interment camps during World War 2 who were ratted out by the census lol.

  • I don't come to your office and talk crap about your job, so don't do it about mine! People need money! A job is a job! Census Takers are ordinary citizens. Would you shoot a cop for asking you if you stayed in your house on April 1st? Would you cuss out a firefighter for extinguishing the fire that was burning your house to the ground? Would you claim constitutional rights about your info if you were dying and your doctor needed to know to save you? DIDN'T THINK SO YOU HYPOCRITES!!!

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX

You are misinformed and your analogies are just plain dumb. In regards to your analogies . . . Cops, Firefighters, and Doctors are not collecting personal information that is unconstitutional . . . you are. You need to inform your misinformed ass on a citizens right to privacy. Your JOB so to speak is only a temp position. Why would anyone argue for a temp job that they get hell for having? Well, that is on you . . . but bottom line:

    YOU ARE WRONG!

  • @BaradaNels I'm not misinformed you ignorant fool. I work for the Census Bureau. For me to be misinformed would be pretty tough because I went through a week of training to learn how to do my job and why we do it. You should read up on things before you decide to run your mouth.

  • @XzCoRkEy14zX

One work week does not equate to being informed. Answer me this:

Did they ONCE show you during your orientation seminar the constitution and the US code regarding the census?

If you say yes . . . then you should be arguing on my side. If you say no . . . then you are indeed . . . misinformed.

If I have offended you with my prior comment . . . please forgive me. I wrote that while on a load screen for Left 4 Dead 2. Was in an angry mode.

  • PII (Personal Identifiable Information) is protected by the same laws that require it. The government doesn't use it. The Census Bureau does. Plus, if you'd like to pay less on Mortgages, Rent, etc. ANSWER THE QUESTIONS! You all complain so much about not having proper government protection but yet you moan and groan every time the opportunity to better the government rolls around. You're pathetic. If you don't like Census Takers COMPLAIN TO CONGRESS!!! Don't shoot the messenger!

  • Why did the census want to know race? Sounds like they are wanting to fund some programs...

  • The census can suck my dick

  • So to make sure you have a perfect count, why skip some addresses to ignore those people or to harrass them.

  • $12.00? per hour? LOL.. Jobs??.. TEMP jobs. Heard also they will pay up to $20.00 per hour. Thats MY money they are wasting. The Constitution does NOT make you give personal information! It says to COUNT only!.. Security? LOL.. China hacked into the Governments comps easily!.. I give ONE answer on this form.. and thats how many people in our house..thats it! Come get me and jail me now!

  • hoooooooo

  • They also used the census to track down and imprision innocent Japaneese in ww2.

  • @sidfu Exactly, why do they have to spend all of the money and time to tell us over TV and internet it is a benign census?

  • do it for the money...yea...the meoney is whats matters...do it for the minnimum wage job...try and pay rent on 12 bucks an hr...feed family..oh yeah pay car insurance ...medical care forced by ohbama...its like 2 bucks an hr..then you feed yourself..pay everyone else first...thats what matterrs yea..do it for the money...no you protect for THEM.

  • sinse when has the government built a hospital that wasnt a VA hospital?

    complete bullshit folks

  • When the census takers pull up to the guarded gates of millionaire CEO's,who were bailed with a trillion dollars of taxpayers hard earned money,do they come to the gate to fill out all of these invasive questions,or do they just let loose the slavering guard hounds?

  • Billion with a B, it is your duty to continue to decieve people. Where is it written in the constitution. A decennial- every ten years. Who in the hell cares? 1200 people is not a lot. Ugh idiot

  • The govt. needs to know your race.

You need to tell them. They love you.

    They love your complexion.

  • B.S.

  • The Federal government is no longer Federal. Its GLOBAL by and through BRETTON WOODS TREATY Agreement. They will lie to you and tell you that Bretton Woods is a failed system. They dont want you to know about the organizations that it produced such as World Bank, IMF, WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA, AMERO, North American Union. They dont want you to read Article 7 whereby the BANKS and the Bankers are the Sovereign.

  • If the Federal Government was trustworthy, they wouldnt be VIOLATING the US Constitution and the STATES wouldnt have to pass 10th Amendment Resolutions to remind the Federal government to BACK OFF!!

  • what is my "fair share"- lies

    # in my household only

  • "Confidentiality???" I wish I had ten dollars for every federally-owned laptop or computer that has been lost, stolen or hacked during the past five years.

  • We are still paying England our tax dollars!

  • Billions coming to us from the Feds? That is the whole problem that we face today. They are blackmailing us with our OWN money. Our forefathers never intended for an IRS to exist, nor a central bank. Just given them the basic required info!

  • What an idiot talking head! Billions to come to us? That's exactly what is wrong with the Central Government today. It is OUR money, and it was never intended that they would have access to our funds. We were to pay the State, and the State was to pay the Feds. 80% of TN's budget comes from the Feds. Don't tell them anything! Our State is now looking at collecting the taxes themselves, and holding it in escrow. This guy does not have a clue about this subject. Secure? Right!

  • Traitor

  • why the race questions???? I thought our country is color blind. I wrote American in that space.

  • i gave them the number and nothing else

  • JERK Goberment worker, useless prick

  • 1) The Constitution authorizes government to count people but it does not authorize the taking of private information or even the names of individuals. From where does the Census Bureau derive authority to demand our private information?

  • I think you've created enough jobs with our money. How about you count all the money you waste and get real like the rest of us. I'll give you a head count and that is all.

  • Here, can u count how many fingers am I holding up ? So much money for nothing.. they already KNOW where everybody is..and how many... tax returns, dl, public records.. etc.. The original census was necessarily because we had no such infrastructure. Answer 'any" questions..?? just count that all..

  • Hey Jerk ... Unless you are giving me part of that Billion's of dollars count me out... You can ask how many are in my home but NOTHING ELSE.... I could care LESS about the house of Rep, or anyone else in Washington.

  • When they count all the people in the US. It will include illegals, who will then have representation in the US House. This can make a difference in how we are governed and which bills are voted on. This has already happened in states who provide for many illegals. Counting Illegals should be done, but not for the purpose of representation in the US government. Those rights belong to Citizens.

  • I will answer their questions with my own questions. I'll aggravate them all day. I can't wait for them to show up at my door. I have lots of free time. Hahaha

  • The only question Americans are required to answer is how many are living in the home. That's it.

When I was a kid, I remember my mom standing at the door answering EVERY question they asked her for the 1980 census. Dumb.

  • So why are they GPSing every door? Is this not another way to get them prepared for Martial Law?

  • The government is authorized by the Constitution to count the population every 10 years. Nothing more. Refuse to answer any questions other than the number of people in your home.

  • Absolutely correct!

  • @hk459 The thing is...if you refuse to answer the rest of the Census questions, the Census Bureau will keep coming to your door or calling you by phone until you answer the questions. And if you continue to refuse to answer the questions, you could be subject to a fine or even some prison time. I think the maximum penalty for refusing to participate in the Census is six months in federal prison and/or a $5,000 fine.

  • Im going to take my test today to be a Census worker. If they send me house to house, I'll be taken these questions with me to hand out to the people I talk to.

:D and they're going to pay me to do it.

  • SHOW ME THE MONEY

  • 1) The Constitution authorizes government to count people but it does not authorize the taking of private information or even the names of individuals. From where does the Census Bureau derive authority to demand our private information?

  • 2) Is there any limit to the amount and type of private information that the Census bureau may demand and collect?

  • 3) Under what Constitutional authority does the Census Bureau collect information now from 250,000 people per month of every year?

    4) The 4th Amendment to the Constitution prohibits government search and seizure of private information without a court warrant based on probable cause. Current Census policies violate that Amendment do they not?

  • 5) By what Constitutional authority does the Census Bureau threaten penalties for failure to provide personal information?

    6) The Census Bureau claims it maintains privacy of personal information. Are there any circumstances under which law enforcement or spy agencies can access Census information?

  • 7) Since presumably Census data may be subpoenaed by law enforcement, may individuals refuse to answer questions according to the fifth Amendment?

    8) Why has the Census Bureau decided to collect GPS coordinates for every home?

    9) Virtually every government database has been either lost, hacked or compromised. Would the Census Bureau's claim of data security not be an outright lie or at best highly improbable?

  • 10) How would the Census Bureau locate, protect and compensate those individuals whose data becomes compromised?

  • Congress, exercising its Constitutional authority, has enacted Title 13 of the U.S. Code to create the Census Bureau, authorize it to conduct the Census, and grant it specific powers to collect detailed information. The Constitution says that the government will count the people -- it doesn't impose any restrictions on what the government can count. Both the government and our private sector economy use compilations of census data for a number of legitimate and constitutional purposes.

  • @pshawhan It doesn't say what they can or can't count, so that argument goes either way. Does it not?

  • your right!!!

  • The U.S. Constitution authorizes counting heads period. Absolutely nothing else. Everything else has no legal constitutional basis whatever!!! The census was not created to help redistribute taxpayers money!!! This is complete BS. The census is ONLY for finding out information to know the number of representives are needed in Congress. Period.. End of story..

  • Why R there so many crazy lunatics out there so worried about having the most basic information gathered that anyone can find on the Internet. Everyone who doesn't get counted hurts there own community. It is amazing that most of the people out that there that are so paranoid are the people sitting in their trailer park homes collecting unemployment worried about why Uncle Sam is trying so hard to make sure their voice is heard and they can continue to stay at home and do nothing.

  • @ThereR2manylunatics Because people are stupid, but that doesn't warrant the Government to hold the census anyways. Why don't they go on Facebook then and get the information? It'd be cheaper and no one would complain.
