I used to have this as a single when I was a tyke. IIRC, it was the B side of Slow Twistin'. I remember this song being longer. The Parkway label that appears during the video has a longer time listed too. But for the life of me, I can't figure out what was cut for this version.
@jwz965 That is a very good question.I noticed the time as you mentioned, and the song you hear is off the record. This is what I have always herd when I play the record, and I have three copies.I will check the other records and play them, and get back to you.Later
@jwz965 I checked the other two 45's and they have the same time stamped.I played them and there may be a slight difference, depending how fast I start and stop the stop watch,I also have the LP "Don't Knock The Twist",and on the back track listings it has "La Paloma Twist 2:32".It plays out at 2:09.I think that they just stamped the record wrong as to the time and just carried even to the LP.There is a vido on youtube that is live, and it is drged out to 2:22.Hope this helps Later ... :)
"Black Cloud" is the opposite side of "Birdland". It was a 45 record (nº 873, Parkway Records, 1963). There are some doubts if "Black Cloud" was recorded in 1963 because it has a style that C. C. was leaving behind (he was going to folk and similar things). Maybe only "Birdland" have been recorded in 1963. Anyway, the record was released in 1963. "Black Cloud" (until where I know was released only in 45 record).
Chubby Checker is great! I was very happy for hearing "Let's Twist" (La Paloma twist) again. Thank you. There is a song recorded by Chubby that I can't get to find: It is "Black Cloud". Can Someone post it? May I get it? I will be grateful eternally. My regards for "La Paloma Twist".
@castelobrancopaulo I'm glad that you enjoyed this song. The song "Black cloud" by Chubby has already been posted. Just look it up.Catch you later... :)
