I FOUND A SIMPLER WAY TO UN-BRICK THE SAMSUNG CAPTIVATE.

- Turn the power off by removing the battery.

- Re-insert the battery and DO NOT turn it on.

- Hold down together the volume up/down key and the power key. While holding these down, re-insert your power/usb cable.

- The phone will revert to the download mode.

- PROBLEM SOLVED.

- If you wish to continue with download, remember to disconnect cable from the phone, turn on ODIN, connect cable to computer before reconnecting cable to phone.

@EazyTouches Thanks mate. works fine for me. finally got my i5800 into download mode. my 3 combo button not, working & phone hangs after flashing to different version of fw. all solved now.

@EazyTouches listen people who need jigs cant use 3 button combination it was blocked they used to use it but got blocked so they need this so read before you post you spanner

Hi guys just a little question. Hope you can help me out.

When I use the 3 key combo all my phone does is that it stays at the 'samsung galaxy s' screen, goes off, comes back again, goes off, comes back again till i release the keys. Any idea what's wrong?

what resistor goes to what pin? 1k to the 5th pin and 300k to the 4th? or does it matter?

It doesn't. As long as you have a total of 301k ohms across the two pins, it's fine.

@ImprezzaImpressions Yep. You can use 3x100k and 1k, or 1x301k, or 300k + 1k, etc. as long as current encounters that 301k (well in fact 300k seem to work)

@joyrida18 currently not much ppl know this trick. But you can ask someone on the xda to make one for you. But I recommend you to do it yourself. =) its extremely easy to made.
