@OneLoneLegend Was protested at E3 '09 by religious folks, 3rd person game play, based off a real epic poem, and looks like it'll play like GoW1/2 going through 9 rings of hell setting. Not to mention it looks like it has pretty cool models and music choices / voice actors are neat.

interesting about the protest, o well, probably going to pirate this game like i did ME2. i don't feel like buying any more games since my last bought game was borderlands, in such we pc'ers got fucked over by it. btw, you shouldn't judge a game till you've played it, i'm sure a lot of games mimic other games, but is that so bad? they're bringing a new story line aswell as models, voices, weapons, etc to the table.

This game reminds me of the God of War series. I want to play this game so bad. And I can't wait until March when God of War 3 comes out.

I'm an atheist and I think that Christianity, along with Judaism and Islam are all mythology and superstition, no different from, say, Greek mythology, Egyptian mythology, Norse mythology, etc. So I don't have any problems playing a game like this. To me, it's just another cool looking action game.

The structure of Hell is taken directly from the poem, although the character of Dante and his "quest" have been tweaked to make it more epic. Basically Dante fights through 9 levels of hell to save his love, Beatrice.

It's not meant to be taken literally. More or less a possible reference to "God has a sick sense of humor sometimes", at least that's how I interpret it. Like, for example, let's say a man breaks his leg trying to save someone else from breaking theirs - that could be called a Divine Comedy. Again, that's just how I interpret it. The book itself might be called so for a different reason.

Not gonna lie the book was hard to read, not for the fact it was written in Old English but of the very descriptive grotesque nature of Dante's writing. Also each of the 9 circles gets worse as Dante goes further. Be sure to have nightmares.

Actually I believe that circle is Gluttony. In the third circle all the souls are imprisoned in a slush made of black ash, freezing rain and hail, which looks like the stuff they are trapped in to me.

Comedy was a different term when Dante was around. It meant the writing was about the common people. Dramas were reserved for "heros" like in the Iliad. Until around Shakespeare's time anyway.

You know, this looks cool and all, but i wish it would be more of a survival game, something more closely related to the actual book. instead of a God of War, bad ass, ripping through hell game. which is a cool idea, but since its based on such a classic and critically upheld piece of literature, i really believe that it should've done a better job of giving it justice. Beatrice isn't even IN hell in the book... he doesn't even meet beatrice till the third book. oh well, looks fun anyway...
