As s little girl I sang this to my mom all the time. I"m 79 now and she's gone now and I still find my self singing it to her when I miss her and the times we shared together. Everyone loved her and caller her Nonnie, Miss you mom.
You put a lot of feeling in that old 1915 song. I used to sing it for my mom when I took care of her before she died. I miss her more than ever now. Thank you for honoring mothers. I called my mom, my "wonderful one" after one of her favorite songs from the early 1920s..
I was just watching your videos again and if you don't mind... which is the 2nd picture of you? I saw that one which seems to have been taken in the 80s,am I right? What is the 2nd one?
Hey, Alex. The picture right after the picture of myself and my mom is a picture of my Aunt Sally and her four sons. All four boys were serving during WWII. The president, Franklin D Roosevelt found out all her sons were serving and he intervened and sent one home. Joe, who is second from left was later badly wounded in the war but he is the only son still alive today. I have had that picture since I was about 3 years old. Thanks.
I lost my mom to cancer 7 years ago. I miss her more than anything in this world. Mother's day is coming up. Be good to your mom if you still have one. 5* Featureman as always.
Hey Tom im back i cant believe you've posted so many new videos since i last logged on. this is a great great video im glad you posted it.ive sent my mother something in advance before i might get shipped anywhere but anyways thanks for the great video!
Hi, It is good to hear from you again. Thanks for the kind words. I will try to post some more videos soon with some various content. Good luck with everything and stay in touch.
Really touching. When they finally get Heaven wired and online, I'm vid-sharing this with my mom, for sure. (She's gonna love it.)
(Same with your mom, Tom! When Heaven goes online, Ma Willet is gonna check up and be saying, 'Oh, look at what my Tommy has gotten himself up to, now! Calling himself Featureman! He was always such a showman. And what's this? 'I Want More Porn?' Oh dear...! Wait, oh, it's a parody song. Well, isn't my Tommy Boy being the rascal, once again.) =)
Thanks. It is wonderful that each new technology brings opportunities to remember some of the happiness of the past, even during the hard times. Thanks again.
Thanks. I must confess I did not use some pictures because they were too moving. These seem to capture much of the hard work mothers do and have done throughout the ages regardless of the economy. Thanks again.
Thanks. I was surprised to see so few Mother's Day videos here at YouTube. I thought there would be a lot left over from last year. It is only three weeks away. Thanks again.
I am just in the one color picture with my mother who since has passed away. The photo that follows that is my aunt with her four sons. She raised them by herself after her husband died. All of the boys were in the service in WWII.
beautiful video, Tom. I always love to hear you sing and play, and the photos were great. Glad they are preserved in the LOC. they really capture that era. Susan
Thanks, Susan. There are many thousands of pictures there at loc. I chose just a few but there are 160,000 black and white and 16,000 color pictures from that time period.
Once again, Happy Mothers Day!
Now, BACK TO DECLUTTERING! I'll see you later and hope you all have a nice weekend!
