I've got a custom kmx viper comming in a few days and I'm definately going to outfit it with underglow a brilliant idea thanx for the vids happy riding!!!
Sure you can. Put one full strip underneath the front frame then cut the 2nd bar in half and put one on each side under the frame by the back wheel. That should give you PLENTY of illumination. It's easy to do and the lights and wiring will cost about $40 and a battery another $20 - $30 depending on the amph you're looking for.
Unfortunately the solar panels would be too large to be practical. The better way to go would be to use Lithium Ion batteries however they are VERY expensive around $700.
I get well over 10 hours of continuos use with my cheap $30 SLA battery which weighs about 4 lbs.
Great! I'd love to see your new trike all tricked out :)
Look at ALL of Ozniums products as you might find something else you would prefer to use as they have tons of great lights and effects, from inexpensive to top of the line.
Hi. When you say the battery lasts for at least 15 hours. Is that the total life of the battery or is it rechargable. How much did all of it cost (led's etc)?
Glad to hear you put LED lights on your KMX as well and that you are happy with the outcome. Makes for a much safer ride at night and they really look cool.
underglow is a huge waste of money. Ill even admit I have them on my car but never use it. It does look cool but is useless and not worth the hassle, just my opinion though.
I didn't put the underglow to look cool, although it does.
I installed them so the cars will be able to clearly see my profile at night. When seated, my head is below the bottom on the window of and 2 seater sports car. THAT'S LOW, so I need ALL the lighting I can get. IMHO it's the BEST decision I have made. They WORK GREAT & LOOK SIC and more than do the job I installed them for. So for me, IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY.
Thanks! ... it really improves my visibility on the road at night.
I ordered another 2 strips of LED's, which arrived this morning, which I am going to install under the rear of the frame, flanking the back wheel (dead spot) and also going to be installing a flexible LED under the rear mud gaurd to illuminate my rear wheel.
I'm hoping to complete this later today and make another video.
Thanks for your comment & good luck with your new KMX :D

Very good idea fella. Perhaps a solar panel to charge the battery during the day?

Well, I'm gonna try and do a similar set up with LED's, solar and wind power. I'll let you know how I get on.

I use a 9 amp LEAD ACID battery which of course is rechargeable. Battery price around $25.
each LED strip is 20" long and costs $25 USD each. (I used 5 strips)
Total cost around $180 USD including shipping.

You inspired me to install some oznium lights on my own KMX trike. I installed them a few days ago and they look terrific. Thanks for the how-to!

You put that on your car? Now THAT is a waste of money. On cars, it makes the driver look like a complete dork.

Looks like fun!

The rigid bars work for my application. They do have FLEXIBLE LED strips, also with a 120 degree VA and also waterproof.
Thanks for the compliment.
