@Damrodle Yes I thought so. Also, given nonsense in the title and the top uploader comments with made-up name of the singer and a completely made-up story, it would've been a very appropriate joke.
@Leonardestruidor Where did you get this name from? I've never heard of such a baritone and I am fairly knowledgeable in opera; there are no recordings of him on sale anywhere on amazon; nothing on google or wiki; no clips of his singing except for your clip and some fake websites of this aria. At the same time, the singer's voice sounds identical to that of Sherrill Milnes.
@Leonardestruidor I think you invented him and this story which is obvious from your spelling and fake names you are using - there is no such Greek tenor either. If you said had been true, there'd be something at least on wiki. The voice sounds IDENTICAL to that of Sherrill Milnes as is the phrasing. We do have ears, you know?
Do you people read the title it said it is a cover by Roberti D'miarcci who is a baritone not Luciano Pavarotti who is a tenor? DEUH PEOPLES!!! Read before you comment you Idiots!
@Leonardestruidor You have to admit, for a native english speaker, this is pretty ambiguous. The title would be better if it gave Rossini's name instead of Pavarotti (because Rossini is the composer) and said cover by or version by- "cover of name" makes it sound like he is the one being covered, not the one doing the covering
@Altoclarinets Not only it is ambigious, but I also think he invented this baritone he mentions: try to find any mention on him on google. And the whole story doesn't ring true and the names are all made up. More importantly, listen to this and compare (at 4 min): /watch?v=v1cIIUPPUUw
@jewelmarkess Sherrill Milnes sang in many of the older Mormon Tabernacle Choir recordings, and even without listening to him singing Figaro I must agree this sounds a lot like his voice!
@hellokittykilla Maybe because the singer sounds exactly like Sherrill Milnes. Also, "Roberti D'miarcci" must really be an unknown as there is no mention of this baritone anywhere on google or here.
@hellokittykilla Before you call anybody idiots, use some critical thinking. Look at the names this guy is using - they are completely made up. There is no such baritone "Roberti d'Miarcci", other names used in the story sound like a random collection of letters. Additionally, one can easily recognize the voice of Sherrill Milnes here.
@jewelmarkess Does it matter??? All we know is that it is not a Luciano Pavoratti and that it is a cover of one of Luciano's performances. Like I am really going to take my time and search for the name? The point is everyone keeps saying "THAT IS NOT LUCIANO!". Well idiot read it is a cover of his performances. STUPID! You just wanna start an argument because you are replying to everybody's comments. Get a freaking life!
@hellokittykilla I love opera, so it matters to me. This is not a "cover", this is a FAKE. The guy who uploaded it took a separate recording of Milnes, who was a great baritone, well known in opera world, and put it under the name Pavarotti for laughs. Then when people started complaining, he invented a name and a ridiculous story. Baritones don't "cover" for tenors, Milnes sang WITH Pavarotti in operas not covered for him. Just listen to Milnes please.
@hellokittykilla You don't need to search for the name: /watch?v=v1cIIUPPUUw (at 4 minutes). You don't know anything about opera, you think it's just Pavarotti and everyone else. The truth is there were and are many great singers in opera, as great as Pavarotti or greater they just didn't "crossover" to pop so people like you don't know them and you think nobody else matters. For those of us who love and know opera Milnes is just as great as Pavarotti simply a different voice type.
@jewelmarkess WTF!!!! You made no sense writing that moment. I clearly said that I know this isn't pavarotti. How are you gonna insult me I am a musician! I play clarinet for 8 years, flute for 2 years, piano for 3 years, and guitar for 5 years. I know music because music is my life. I live that it and runs through my veins. I just said it doesn't matter because every kept saying that is not luciano. Obvious! Luciano pavarotti has such a distinct voice. I am extremely upset you said that.
@jewelmarkess I know about many other opera singers Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo,Samuel Ramey,Thomas Allen,Jose van Dam,Kurt Moll,Cecilia Bartoli,Marilyn Horne,Edith Mathis,,Christa Ludwig. I DONT KNOW OPERA?!?!?!?!
@hellokittykilla In this case I apologize. I am surprised how you didn't recognize Sherrill Milnes' voice or even name - come on, he's performed with Pavarotti in the same operas at the Met (e.g. here: /watch?v=JAuTsjF_Kqs) as well as concerts. How could you've believed this so obviously made-up story: "Roberti D'miarcci"? "Angelina bokett naabok ,daughter of the Greek tenor bokett kostozzo Mallus"; "according to the laws of Grakttapo" -- it's so obvious the guy made it up as a joke.
Largo al factotum ("Make way for the factotum") is an aria from The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini, according to wiki, where you can find the lyrics too.
Great voice! But it sounds like Sherrill Milnes. Definitely not Pavarotti :D Guys Pavarotti has the most distinctive voice. How can you make such a mistake! That's like to say he sings Time to say good bye - another great youtube common mistake :D
@Leonardestruidor Yes it's a beautiful aria, but it's still important who sings it. In terms of where you found it, don't trust the label, use your ears. There are a lot of fakes here as well as on the internet, so if someone made a mistake, you don't need to repeat it. If "ruskamale" put the wrong label, why repeat the mistake. More importantly - use your ears, listen to Sherrill Milnes singing it, listen to Pavarotti.
@Leonardestruidor This is not Pavarotti's voice whichever you found this video. Plenty of fakes on you tube and the internet. Amazon sells a CD with Pavarotti on the title which features different singers. LISTEN! Do you have ears? Pavarotti was a tenor. This is a baritone aria - lower deeper voice. This is Sherrill Milnes singing.
@GammaBoom You'll figure it out if you listen more to opera arias and watch here scenes from operas (tenor is a high male voice, baritone is a lower voice, aria is a solo in opera). Search for "The barber of Seville" (or "Il barbiere di Seviglia") here, and watch scenes with different voices. It's really not rocket science, just takes a little exposure.
@jewelmarkess i will do just that when i glance upon a little more time. thanx. although i am prediciting i wont get into opera in the near future since im still young and listen to other music. but respect high quality music like this and other clasics. i do realize these composers were real masters of music. cheers.
@GammaBoom Sure, whenever you want, I suspect you'll find it enjoyable. Keep in mind that opera isn't just a style of singing, it's a play - comedy or drama, in this case comedy - which is sung (in classical style, without microphones) rather than spoken. It has a story, sets, costumes, singers act the roles. One can enjoy different genres of music regardless of age. There are some very young opera singers out there too, check out Nadine Sierra for example or Michael Fabiano.
@Leonardestruidor What do you mean NO, you don't hear the difference? Well, I am sorry about it, if you cannot hear the difference between a baritone and a tenor, there isn't much one can do. But really, LISTEN. Sherrill Milnes sings this aria here: /watch?v=v1cIIUPPUUw (starting from 4:26). Then listen to anything sung by Pavarotti e.g. La donna e' mobile.
@demonicalheart Most people care who sings because then if they like the singer they can find other recordings for the same singer instead of looking. Someone may want to find this on a CD. Not to mention that Sherrill Milnes is still alive even if he isn't singing any more, don't you think he deserved credit for his excellent singing? Oh, and look up the definition of "snob" in a dictionary, since when correcting an error means one is a snob?
@pbarroso001 I find Milnes is fantastic, not sure if he is the best, but he certainly is great. Do check out Muslim Magomaev - this is a singer from the Soviet Union so he wasn't known in the West, but his rendition of this is beautiful. I am not saying who is better - there are several excellent interpretations here, and I simply find it difficult to choose just one.
Hey this is Sherrill Milnes, not Luciano Pavarotti. There was a tenor that sang this,Mario Del Monaco and probably others. To me this is the best though.

Unfortunately for having fought for the Germans in World War II, he can never write any disc by the famous labels,
much less to do concerts, according to the laws of Grakttapo. Another great success of this Wild Man is borned a black Greek, 1955
his happiest moment in life was when he personally met the baritone,Angelina bokett naabok
