I don't know how Kleybonova doesn't strain her neck with the way she jerks her head around, especially on the FH side. It's painful to watch. If you look at most other pros, their heads are pretty much still when hitting.

@JamieOwen03 Yeah, I don't know what that person was talking about. The French Open crowd is infamously the nastiest crowd around every year. I can't think of a match where the AO crowd was nasty to any player, including this match where they just wanted to see Ivanovic make a match of it.

@Impulsensx Exactly, in Australia fans root for their faves and don't necessarily root against some players. But in Roland Garros it's so obvious how they root against some players namely Nadal (remember 4th round in 2009 against Soderling? it was disgusting), Hingis, Serena and Sharapova among others.

Nadal of course had won 4 in a row and Serena was defending champion in '03 having obliterated Pierce in '02 and Mauresmo in '03 (so they really got on her in the '03 semi when they had a chance).

@falks941 i think the fact that she didn't get a roar of applause during this tournament is due to the fact that ivanovic and dokic has heavy ties with australia. there's always that favourite and i guess ivanovic dating an australian and dokic being an australian that time made it look bad. i was actually at the kleybanova vs dokic 4th round match, and to be honest, kleybanova was very admirable to the majority of the crowd.

Ana was doomed to lose the moment she started to play it safe. Unlike her, Alisa took the risk, she had confidence in her abilities and took shots/winners instead of just hitting it back like Ana did. Ana should hit her winning forehands instead of just hittiing it back at her oponents. Nothing spells out a definite LOSS more than a tennis player with no confidence in her abilities.
