So yea... Kamina actually dies from the attack. The manga actually shows his vitals when he stands back up and does his epic last stand as being 'dead'. So yea, he basically is so... well... I think he surpasses manly at this point and we need a new word, that he wills his dead body to move, tell death to 'sit down and shut up for a bit' and finish the fight.
