  • Get in there 'fraction' bloody love them, not seem them in a record shop in ages!

  • I think top 10 is 1 POWER -OF -ZEUS 2 HAYSTACKS- BALBOA 3 LIQUID SMOKE 4 LITTER 5 BOB -SEGER- SYSTEM 6 PARICH - HALL 7 PULSE 8 HEAD- OVER -HEELS 9 STONED- AGE-MAN-JOSEPH 10 FRIJID PINK

  • Fans of raw heavy psych rock might like this later-era beauty from 1996: "Rosetta West - Low."

  • good stuff man, as a dj who specializes in music like this u got it

  • what!!!!!!! this is a bullchit !!!!!!!!!! where is Jimy Hendrix Experience- Doors- Grand Funk Railroad- MC5- Iron Butterfly- Steppenwolf- Blue Cheer- Amboy Dukes fuck!!!! are yuo dumb!!!!!!!???

  • @ruslanasrtu this is UNDERGROUND heavy psych my friend.. no big names here..

  • Man a just wanna say thanks for the top 40, greetings from brazil!

  • BRAVO !!!

  • Comment removed

  • What is the name of the songs played?

  • Well, okay.... but bands that sound like this were plentiful and played at high school dances all over in the late Sixties. A REAL unknown psychedelic band would be one like MAD RIVER. I mean it really is psychedelic in style, out on the edge.

  • do you happen to know where i can download that parish hall song

  • GREETINGS FROM FREAKED-OUT GREECE! You absolutely R.U.L.E.....Enjoyed your lists and your other videos.Man,I'm exhausted. What a breathtaking sequence of bands/songs/sounds and images.Keep up the good work.

  • Great post! I have really been wanting to expand my Pscyh collection and this video was a GREAT introduction to some bands I really want to get to know better! THANKS. That Dragonfly was killer!

  • Dragonfly should have been number one, dude.

  • @Brooklyn7071 I agree, Dragonfly #1. I really enjoyed listening to the selections. I am a big fan of psychedelia and several of these bands I didn't know. Always learning!

  • Yeah nothing better than Some real stuff!!!

if you like this you should check out a band called HEAVY WATER EXPERIMENTS

their new stuff sounds a lot like this but in a millenium form!

    Thanks for sharing :-)

  • Ahhhh Fraction.... One of my favs.

  • I like how you have underground bands, but you should also include the bigger names like Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Animals, Cream, etc. I mean, where's Surrealistic Pillow, The Doors, Dark Side of the Moon, Are You Experienced, and Disraeli Gears?

  • @CMD9889 didnt you read the description? "You will probably miss some big names here, but this is the real psychedelic underground rock albums of the late 60.s and early 70.s."

  • @br4ve Yeah, I read the description, but the maker shouldn't have excluded the bigger names just because they might be a tad overrated. I like these songs, but I would still include Cream, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, etc.

  • What a great job! Checked out your "Top 40 Heavy Psychedelic" collection. All I can say is it's so sad that such great music becomes "lost". Thank you for the music education, and keep rockin' !!!

  • You have the best music taste ever. Got really excited when I heard Morgen, one of my favourite bands! And Fraction.

  • what r da names of the songs

  • Nice vid, dude! I need help with, Morgen. What records is there with Morgen? I can't find anything on the internet.

  • Worship the Power of Zeus

  • Woeship the Power of Zeus

  • what was the names!!

  • you forgot the doors

  • Nice!

  • Easter Everywhere by 13th Floor Elevators

  • can u tell me the bands from 40-1 names please because u dont say it and it makes me sad so i cant look up all there songs from each album

  • most of these bands are real POS psychedelic and not psychedelic as a whole

  • Somebody finally does what the title says''. Can't say i like it all the way through? To much vocals for my picky ass..I like 60s garage some where in between structured and splatter core..Like being in a middle ground,'' your neither here nor there, what do you prefer? I would prefer painting pictures of earth and space..Because i never seen the limbo middle ground ever being around? (Dosent exsist to my knowlege?) Of misguided clowny clown clown clowns. Fucking spell check!!

  • Heavy and farout stuff, I wish I could transport to this era man. Thanks for this groovy blast dyvelsten !!!

  • any body didnt mensiond the flaming lips?

  • amazing!

  • hola amigo te doy las gracias por subir este video, me facinaron las 40 canciones, me despedio p&a

  • have one of these albums, Lollipop Shoppe its great, love to get the rest..thanks for the music, pity they don't make music like this anymore, instead of the rubbish they are making at the moment..

  • the morning jew lol

  • l wish i was growing up with this music, but hurray, we have justin bieber!

  • @mdognirvana ...we also have a lot of other music, why must people keep using him as a trump card to look cool on youtube

  • @br4ve It's not a trump card, it's just the fact that l would love to live in the 60's. But instead of that, we have music like Justin Bieber, and in my opinion that's just worthless. We have a lot of other music, you are right, which are very good and unique, but l just prefer the psychedelic music from back then.

  • @mdognirvana finally someone who says what i say all the time to myself! i wish there was some time machine to back to these times!

  • i am glad someone is putting this music out thank you so much.some I havent heard in years others Im still learning about .Why cant this music make a come back to main stream culture.Im afraid one day if it dont it will die

  • @1KOOLROCKNDAN Well I guess it can never be relived like it was in the 60's 70's - we can only look back in wonder. In the mean time 'tame imapla' from my city seem to be doing pretty well, look them up - hopefully others catch on and people start taking more acid =] haha

  • you gotta love a good jam band!!!!!!

  • ive never have heard any of these songs until right now, im a child of the 80s, some of these are really good. the lollipop shoppe sounds like punk, i liked dragonfly, fraction album cover is pretty cool and the track is too, reminds me of zepplin.

  • Very Cool!

  • Picking the top 10 of all time is very tuff , because there`s so many great ones. But me thinks you should of had Dragonwych from Ohio on this list.

  • Do there exist to versions of the song "gypsy" by morning dew?

The version on my album sounds different and has a flute in it.

  • @Friskus22 one challel was sadly lost when I digitalized the track, so the vocals and flute is very silent in the mix..

  • Damn. why haven't I heard of any of these bands before??

  • Sounds excellent, dude. I haven't even heard of these bands, but I'm definitely gonna check them out.

  • gold windowpane, orange sunshine, white lightning, memories .....

  • super fuckin collection...thank you and please post more

  • Another great set, dryvelsten, but how in the hell you can figure out what order to put them in? That would be hard!

  • This was a pretty good list, but I do have one complaint. Why is it that every exampled is focused specifically on vocals? The Lincoln St. Exit track for instance has a really good fuzz-wah lead guitar that would have captured my attention immediately if I heard it for the first time, but if I just went by the snippet you gave of just vocals I wouldn't have any desire to hear any more of it. Especially with the Fraction track where you fade out right before the fuzz gets acidic and good.

  • thanks for all of your hard work....im learning alot from what you post. I cant find any allen parish out there. i really like his sound.

  • wheres caustic resin?

  • Drangonfly sure sounds like Iron Butterfly!--er maybe vice-versa?

  • This is such a good collection of songs. Whoever put this video together deserves a congratulations. If you would like to hear some more quality music check out my page/channel. :)

  • You're in deep!

There is a song from the 70s that lives at the edges of my memory. It had a line in it like "waiting for the moment to begin the world again." And it may or may not have had a lyric about smoking marijuana.

    Anyone???

  • it sounds like "Begin the World Again" by Ray Manzarek, from his album "The Whole Thing Sarted with Rock and Roll & Now it's out of Control" (1974). Hope you can check it on the web.

And thanks for the music dyvelsten, makes me feel young again!

  • I love this type of music and have several hundred psych albums. One thing missing is a book with album photos and some info on the bands. Does anyone know of one?

  • "The Acid Archives" by Patrick Lundborg, "Fuzz Acid and Flowers" by Vernon Joynson and the 5 volumes of "Record Collector Dreams" by Hans Pokora are all fine books about this kind of stuff..

  • And try Galactic Ramble, of which I'm proud to say I am one of the authors....there is a website introducing the book.

  • You should also check out "Crack in the Cosmic Egg", if you like the German equivalent, Krautrock, that is.

  • Josefus rulez!

  • DYVELSTEN !!! YOU ARE MAKING HISTORY on youtube !!! before ... and After ....!!! nothing will be as it was before, ... after seeing these videos !!! Holy jesus !!! now everybody can die in PEACE !!!

  • I heard captain Beyond, Poobah, and some other great obscure bands on Sirius satelite radio. Cool post!

  • It's amazing how you go to look for one of your all time favorite bands (Captain Beyond) and you find the collection you put together.I have always been known for my knowledge of rare bands but you blew me out of the water. All I can say is great job.I now will try to find to find these albums. They are truly a mind blowing delight. Thanks for all your hard work.

  • I still have the Captain Beyond LP w/the 3D cover. They are a great band and I love that cover.

  • everyone needs to listen to Michael Tsarion on the youtube. he is the worlds premier conspiracy researcher/lecturer/author. Leo Zagami and Dr. Bill Deagle are highly informative as well.

  • Having just spent £750 on Fraction I couldn't believe it wasn't on the list....then there it was at number 1...you are a true scolar sir!!!! good work fella

  • Is it worth it? I mean, no record can be worth 750 pounds...

  • of course!!! that's the joy of record collecting...a Leafhound sold for £4,100 on eBay last week (sold mine year sago). ANyway a Fraction sold for 1,700 euros in Utrecht last week. It's the joy of owning THE original artefact (and they are a terrific investment). I've many records worth more - it's fun to sell them and financing the purchase of dozens more. Fraction was really badly mastered from the vinyl for the CD - the original sounds SO much better. Record trading is a huge subculture .

  • Wow you are so right on about record collecting! Alot of people just do not get it. Like my Ex Wife.lol

I will check out the web site. Thanks.

  • ps: my comment was a response to PrinceSchism

  • I've even co-written a book about it called GAlactic Ramble (check out the website)

  • Fred Cole of the Dead Moon

  • obscure records but they are very good

i will search for them thanks

....by the way the only band i recognized was the Lollipop Shoppe...because of Fred Cole

  • what's the name of the Morning Dew's song in the video?

  • I've never heard of any of these bands and therefore they are not any good. JUST KIDDING! This is awesome. Thanks for posting this!

  • yeah thanks for the songs

  • I'm afraid, but Morgen is the best.

  • can you list the albums and artists?

  • 1. Fraction: Moonblood

    2. Lincoln St Exit: Drive it

    3. Josefus: Dead man

    4. Dragonfly: Dragonfly

    5. Lollipop Shoppe: Just color

    6. Morning dew:At last

    7. J.D Blackfoot: The Ultimate prophecy

    8. Power of Zeus: The gospel according to zeus

    9. Parish Hall: Parish hall

    10. Morgen: Morgen

  • number five sounds kinda like dead leaves and the dirty ground...ex. 3:17 - "tiny little gift to me"

  • @dyvelsten On Spotify 'Fraction' goes under 'The Fraction' For anyone that is looking for them there.

  • @dyvelsten number four not dragonfly... somethings wrong¿

  • @dyvelsten Thanks for posting the list! Since I was born 30 years too late, it's great to at least be able to build up a decent music collection....

  • A walk down memory lane...Loved it!

  • another guy who collects vernon joynson books and has to have everything in them

  • superbly sampled!!! thanx

  • You know your stuff , I have 7 out of the 10. Dragonfly is my fave.

  • Great list - thanks! Josefus - on HOOKAH Records! The Lincoln St. Exit tune is one I've heard and taped off the radio, from an overnight DJ who NEVER reads ANYTHING back toward the end of his show, around sunrise, and I didn't know who the band was until now. Thanks again, hopefully I can find some of these great bands' tunes in their entirety in Related Videos.

  • uh, Blue Cheer??

  • Zajebiste albumy!

  • Magical Mystery Tour by The Beatles should be #1

  • No, it should not!, Beatles feels very misplaced on a "US" heavy psych list!

  • I'm sorry my bad I didn't notice it was US. I thought it was in general my bad :)

  • I like your videos, keep making them. You should run a classic rock station. They play the same songs over and over. This sounds like real, fresh classic rock.

  • Här fick man ju en massa bra tips på bra musik! Från en svensk dessutom!

    Tack ska du ha.

  • Nuggets!!!!<3

well i mean Nuggets are still available online at places like amazon, but if you're sure you have everything all together and have never touched it, (first of all, LISTEN!!!) or if you're really not into it, then maybe try selling them on ebay. depending on how much you're selling all of them for, i know i'd buy them hehehe.

  • The Nuggets compilations are from the eighties, and they are still widely available so I don't think you'll get a lot for them.

  • does anybody or has anybody ever heard of the nuggets albums they are a compilation set of albums i am 40 years of age and 4 years ago my dad gave me 5 nuggets albums all in exellent condition the covers are full of colour with all psychedelic writing on the front garage type psychedelic rock does anybody know if these 60s albums are worth anything as i was told san fransisco garage type psychedelic rock was possible worth something please answer back robbie liverpool
