GREETINGS FROM FREAKED-OUT GREECE! You absolutely R.U.L.E.....Enjoyed your lists and your other videos.Man,I'm exhausted. What a breathtaking sequence of bands/songs/sounds and images.Keep up the good work.
Great post! I have really been wanting to expand my Pscyh collection and this video was a GREAT introduction to some bands I really want to get to know better! THANKS. That Dragonfly was killer!
@Brooklyn7071 I agree, Dragonfly #1. I really enjoyed listening to the selections. I am a big fan of psychedelia and several of these bands I didn't know. Always learning!
I like how you have underground bands, but you should also include the bigger names like Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Doors, The Animals, Cream, etc. I mean, where's Surrealistic Pillow, The Doors, Dark Side of the Moon, Are You Experienced, and Disraeli Gears?
@CMD9889 didnt you read the description? "You will probably miss some big names here, but this is the real psychedelic underground rock albums of the late 60.s and early 70.s."
@br4ve Yeah, I read the description, but the maker shouldn't have excluded the bigger names just because they might be a tad overrated. I like these songs, but I would still include Cream, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, etc.
What a great job! Checked out your "Top 40 Heavy Psychedelic" collection. All I can say is it's so sad that such great music becomes "lost". Thank you for the music education, and keep rockin' !!!
Somebody finally does what the title says''. Can't say i like it all the way through? To much vocals for my picky ass..I like 60s garage some where in between structured and splatter core..Like being in a middle ground,'' your neither here nor there, what do you prefer? I would prefer painting pictures of earth and space..Because i never seen the limbo middle ground ever being around? (Dosent exsist to my knowlege?) Of misguided clowny clown clown clowns. Fucking spell check!!
have one of these albums, Lollipop Shoppe its great, love to get the rest..thanks for the music, pity they don't make music like this anymore, instead of the rubbish they are making at the moment..
@br4ve It's not a trump card, it's just the fact that l would love to live in the 60's. But instead of that, we have music like Justin Bieber, and in my opinion that's just worthless. We have a lot of other music, you are right, which are very good and unique, but l just prefer the psychedelic music from back then.
i am glad someone is putting this music out thank you so much.some I havent heard in years others Im still learning about .Why cant this music make a come back to main stream culture.Im afraid one day if it dont it will die
@1KOOLROCKNDAN Well I guess it can never be relived like it was in the 60's 70's - we can only look back in wonder. In the mean time 'tame imapla' from my city seem to be doing pretty well, look them up - hopefully others catch on and people start taking more acid =] haha
ive never have heard any of these songs until right now, im a child of the 80s, some of these are really good. the lollipop shoppe sounds like punk, i liked dragonfly, fraction album cover is pretty cool and the track is too, reminds me of zepplin.
This was a pretty good list, but I do have one complaint. Why is it that every exampled is focused specifically on vocals? The Lincoln St. Exit track for instance has a really good fuzz-wah lead guitar that would have captured my attention immediately if I heard it for the first time, but if I just went by the snippet you gave of just vocals I wouldn't have any desire to hear any more of it. Especially with the Fraction track where you fade out right before the fuzz gets acidic and good.
This is such a good collection of songs. Whoever put this video together deserves a congratulations. If you would like to hear some more quality music check out my page/channel. :)
There is a song from the 70s that lives at the edges of my memory. It had a line in it like "waiting for the moment to begin the world again." And it may or may not have had a lyric about smoking marijuana.
it sounds like "Begin the World Again" by Ray Manzarek, from his album "The Whole Thing Sarted with Rock and Roll & Now it's out of Control" (1974). Hope you can check it on the web.
And thanks for the music dyvelsten, makes me feel young again!
I love this type of music and have several hundred psych albums. One thing missing is a book with album photos and some info on the bands. Does anyone know of one?

It's the joy of owning THE original artefact (and they are a terrific investment). I've many records worth more - it's fun to sell them and financing the purchase of dozens more. Hi! The Morning dew track is called "Gypsy" It is from their LP on the Roulette label. For some reason the vocals comes through very bad in my mix, This song sounds much better in reality, absolutely worth checking out!
Great list! Many of the bands, I've heard before, but a lot of the stuff was new even to me. Thanks!
