  • Health care should be a Human right and in that essence it should be covered by the government as a governments main duty is to represent the people. The government should not support brain washing its citizens with communist views.

Everyone has their own opinion i would like to hear more of other peoples opinions with this issue.

  • Ron Paul 2012... its time to restore our constitution and civil liberty rights that have been masked with facsism and religion.

  • Repeal the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973 !!!!!

  • Get government out of health business? Just tell how is YOUR HEALTH PLAN, Mr. Paul, being paid for! Your health plan as a Representative is paid for by the Government, true?

  • Speaking of morons, how did this Clinton myth gain so much traction? The US national debt has risen every year since 1958. Can someone please point me to this magical 'balanced budget' year the Clinton zombies babble about?

  • Should we have private police and fire?

Nationalized healthcare would cost us less and would be better than what we have now or anything the free market could ever make. Is it ron pauls position to have the nation as a whole spend more for less and have its economy tank?

No wonder he got crushed in the primaries.

  • Do you realize your rhetorical question would imply a justification for government running any industry? Government has a defined, limited role and health care is not a part of it, look at the Constitution. In the 1960s, less than 10% of health care spending was by the federal government. Now it's over half. The problems you see in medical care in this country are precisely because of the government. I find it amazing that people will champion gov't care without any evidence given or asked for.

  • By your logic the government should not provide police or fire services as well, unlike ron paul I understand there is a grey area between total nationalization and total let the poor starve free market idealism that ron supports.

Bottom line is other countries have nationalized health care, get better treatment for more citizens for less, life is not abstract theory, look at the real world examples and see that free marketing healthcare does not work at all.

  • Its true that ron paul supports an ideology that says let people starve if they dont work, but this argument is misleading since he also argues to get rid of the federal reserve which would tremendously decrease the price of all good and services by about 80% (indeed we are getting fucked), making it incredibly difficult to actually "starve."

  • Where do you get "by my logic"? Libertarians are not anarchists. We understand that government has a role, one that is limited. America does not have a free market system of health care, not when half the spending on it is done by gov't. At any one time the U.K. has hundreds of thousands on waiting lists to get care, many of them not getting care until it's too late. Why would Canadians come to the U.S. if socialized medicine is so great?

  • Ron, do you want meaningful change?

Then adopt Fully Nationalized Healthcare today.

Because change does not come from fat and happy morons, aka The American Voter. Destroy their lives and then, perhaps, they'll be pissed off enough to actually pay some attention.

We need to make Unions mandatory as well. Minimum wage should be at least $25.00 / hr.

Revolutions come after the people have had enough. The American Voter hasn't had nearly enough yet.

    Let's help. Vote Democrat.

  • $25.00/hr? So, does that mean that everyone would be rich if they were paid that? That everyone would be able to pay their bills? Everyone would be able to basically play in vegas and spend their money if they were paid at least 25/hr?

  • If you have mandatory $25/hr wages get ready for massive unemployment among marginalized workers. I think that the reason people think that business owners hold out on their employees is because of executive pay compared to laborer's pay. But if you divided the CEO's salary among the lower wage workers, the increase per person would be miniscule. I really can't tell whether you are being sarcastic, but one thing is for sure. If you adopt socialized medical care, you will destroy people's lives.

  • What I'm advocating is an education program. Give the American Voter a great big mouthful of Failure and Misery (aka Socialism and Fascism) while at the same time removing the Fall Guy (Alleged Conservatives) so that Finger Pointing is no longer an effective defense.

Make America into a giant Cuba and one Dictator: Democrats.

We need a revolution, a real revolution, and the only way to get there is to destroy lives (or rather, stop trying to save the morons from themselves).

  • How do you get your videos on the frontpage of dailypaul (dot) com? Thanks for spreading the message! Peace

  • Ron Paul is living in the stone age. He is a moron. I don't understand how all you fools listen to this idiot.

  • Wow! You need to post more here because you are enlightening. I feel so much better now that you have shared your thoughts with us. Very eloquent! Very, very eloquent!

  • Hey, no problem there. Anytime I can help. Glad you see things my way. Ronald has got to go.

  • You made my point even more clear. I was using what is called "sarcasm." It is funny because you used no facts or references to back up your assertion. And no, Ron Paul does not need to go. If you live in his district then you can vote against him. I think there needs to be more men/women in our federal government that advocate all citizens to assume responsibility for their own lives, liberty and property. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting people to be responsible for themselves.

  • You made my point even more clear. I was using what is called "sarcasm."

I agree that it is good for people to start taking responsibility for their actions. I think Repubs should stop bitching about taxes because they are the ones that invented and are the main reason we even have a nat debt. If Clinton was still in office and had a 16 yr term, we would have already paid off the entire nat debt. Now that is responsibility. Give Obama a chance and he will do the same. Paul is not the answer.

  • I agree with you that Republicans grew the debt massively but 2 wrongs don't make a right. Many of these Republicans are using this issue for party politics. Ron Paul is obviously not. Look back at his record. How can you even defend Obama after saying that Clinton was great for having balanced the budget. Have you seen Obama's budget deficit??? Fact of the matter, these are men we are talking about. Men are flawed. We should all be focusing more on the policies.

  • You have to keep in mind that unlike Bush, Obama includes the cost of war in his budget. It isn't cheap fighting a war and fighting 2... Also, you have to consider that the economy was heading for a depression when he took office. It is easy to say let the economy fail and it will fix itself, but dealing with it is another story. You have to give Obama more time than a few 100 days to make it work. If he gets our economy moving then the deficit will drop and as soon as we finish these wars...

  • Obam is considered a war criminal under international law just like Bush. Obama ordered the bombing and killing of innocent pakistanis.

  • We obviously have differing views on economics and how this government should be run. I am of the opinion that we need not look any further than the first 100 days to see what is going to happen in the future. Have you heard the saying, "writing checks his ass can't cash?" Our government has been spending money at a rate that cannot be sustained. Even the goofball Bernanke said so today. The budget deficits may get reeled back in but the damage has already been done.

  • There is no logical way this can be repaid without a seriously long and deep depression. Any spending that this government does only occurs because it has taken it from the people through taxes or plans to take it from future taxes. The government has no other way. If it borrows it through the sale of Treasuries it still has to take from the citizens when they mature. There are real consequences of government spending any amount of money. There is no free lunch.

  • Thanks for the laugh. I'm sorry, but you actually have take more money in then you spend to pay down a debt. Obama paying of the debt is an impossibility unless there is a massive increase in taxes and massive cut in services. If you took the total federal budget and spent it all on paying down debt, it would still take several years. I don't know how you can impartially even consider that Obama has a better chance than Paul of downsizing gov't.

  • I am not sure what you are trying to say. The debt can't be paid all the way down in less that probably at least 8-10 years. The key is getting the economy moving, cutting health care costs, and ending the 2 wars so we can cut defense spending. If all of those are done we can start working on the debt but it will take many years to tackle this as it is already pretty big. What scares me about Paul is he wants to cut too much too fast. That might be dangerous in many ways.

  • I don't know how the gov't thinks it can get the economy moving or cut health care costs. Only the free market can do that. The best thing for gov't do is get out of the way. The current budget will cause an increase in the national debt, not a decrease. Dr. Paul realizes that public spending does not increase economic growth. Even if it's possible to cut the federal gov't too much too fast, I guarantee you it's better than letting it grow how much it has how fast it has.

  • I think it is already starting to work. Keep in mind it will take time and it would have taken a lot longer if nothing was done. The banks are starting to pay back their loans with interest so that is a positive. In a year or two GM will do the same. Bush did nothing and for 8 years nothing happened. There was no economy besides a housing bubble. It is time to do something.

  • If there is any recovery happening, it is doing so in spite of gov't involvement. Few people remember the recession in the early 1920s. The gov't didn't do anything and the economy recovered just fine. As for GM, that is money down the drain. Why would you expect that they would become profitable just from having gov't backing? The gov't was also only supposed to own Amtrak for 3 years but it's been billions of $ and several years since then and we still own it.

  • What the hell do you have against amtrak? And yah yah yah tell me about it. You people will believe what you will believe and there is no changing that even with facts so stop wasting my time. Go watch Ronald tell you bs over and over.

  • lol.

  • Sorry for wasting your time but I will tell you what I have against Amtrak. The federal gov't is barred by the Constitution from running a company. They have made it illegal to compete with Amtrak. They take my tax money to pay for Amtrak when I've never used their trains. They divert tax dollars from profit producing enterprises to one that loses money. Every business should be able to survive without being subsidized by the gov't. If not, then it is wasting limited resources.

  • We had the best health care in the world at one time.... But now that we are Fascist we could kiss it all goodbye.... Unless we have a Revolution..

Sleep America go to sleep. But I'm sure you will vote for the next American Idol..

  • Viva le rEVOLution!

  • VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!!

    Ron Paul 2012!!

  • US healthcare system is becoming like the one of "my" socialist country France...

This will lead to more tax, more drugs sold for nothing, more debt and more health problems.

  • @uche007us

I love Ron Paul and his message of free market, but I really think some form of govt-private health care coverage is the best way to go.

Just like the one they have in Singapore. Run by Not-for-profit insurance companies.

  • Hugs for Ron Paul and anyone

    who supports him xoxoxo

  • What are you on? You obviously payed little attention to this video and know nothing of Ron Paul's voting record or how feels about the rights of individuals that big pharma cares nothing about.

Read his book "Revolution: A Manifesto" to get a clearer idea before you try and seem like you have come across some huge Ron Paul cover-up. Nice attempt but it won't work. You can't bad mouth this man without looking foolish because he takes NO special interest money.

  • afriendwithweed420, I was not attempting to spring some major Ron Paul cover-up. But everyone descries the wisdom of the man without question, yet bemoans the practices of all the other politicians. I'm an Obama supporter but when something smells fishy, I'm going to ask questions. And I don't rate others' comment into oblivion. Btw I'll read Revolution: A Manifesto thanks for the recommendation. But I have become naturally leery of career politicians. TERM LIMITS!!!

  • Its funny you say that... because he's been criticized for years now because he wants to get rid of the FDA because of the corruption within it, and the drug industry.

Go back and watch the primary debates.

So thinking Ron Paul is somehow involved in drug lobbying is absolutely hillarious because it reaalllly couldnt be further from the truth.

  • erf

  • I will like to know what you people think about this health care system. Its government run but its seems like it is the best way to deliver cheap and quality care to the masses.

    watch?v=r7QMCEa7hVk

I dont like anything govt run, but this sound like one of those exception (US defence) to the rule

  • Wow, to get this level of information and honesty from any other congressman, you would have to water-board them...Relax, they don't consider it torture, maybe just an annoyance. What's torture is our current healthcare system.

  • and that's a nice web sight he has there to ! he is THE MAN !

  • Statement of Congressman Ron Paul

    United States House of Representatives

Statement Introducing HR 1866, Industrial Hemp Farming Act
