Input lag on CRTs is measured in nanoseconds, whereas LCDs and plasma displays can range anywhere from 1ms to 120ms depending on their screen quality and the amount of image processing applied. CRTs also reproduce colors more accurately, have wider viewing angles, and more or less do everything better than LCDs/plasmas outside of size, weight, and power consumption comparisons. The FW-900 itself is one of the best commercially-available desktop CRTs to have existed.
@CEOrko And which human can determine the difference between 1 - 2ms? Also that's usually TV screens. I'm playing on a standard Samsung SyncMaster, and I can't tell the difference quite frankly. I feel no input lag at all, whether I'm playing on a PC or my PS3. I know those 1.6 players who believes they'll achieve better performance by demoting themselves to CRT monitors, and it's just really awkward. And even though you might get 'true' colors, it's still an analog signal being transmitted
Usually people can't distinguish between anything lower than 20m, except it's disgustingly easy to feel input lag with a mouse at high latency. This was a problem with the XFPS adapters the first XIM used. The XFPS' low-quality construction introduced a 35ms latency on top of screen lag. This sometimes made the XIMs have a floaty, sluggish, unresponsive feel. Removal of the XFPS from the loop has mostly solved this issue, but extra slow screens can still cause this problem on their own.
As for PC games, latency stacks regardless and taking a 40ms hit with a *VA panel is just putting oneself that much behind those who don't. The difference between a fast reaction speed and an average one isn't always going to be great enough to offset that difference of hardware, in which case the faster monitor makes sense without also taking in to account that it benefits the player in other ways by not showing them an image that is X amount of time older than the present.
I am trying to buy this device at the site of XIM3, I live in BRAZIL, and freight for my parents is absurd U $ 90.00 on average, know any other place that might sell? or value of the goods, is a mistake on the site?
@JOneBRAL I have not tried it on BF3, but I am sure it works great. Check the forums. You can use a reshipper to have it shipped to you. I don't know too much about them, but you can find info about them in the forums.

zum 2ten Beitrag: Du verstehst den eigentlichen Sinn nicht: Das teil verbessert dein Aim - nicht die Maus. Du kannst in nem Spiel genauer zielen als jeder einzelne mit der Maus weil das aim von dem Gerät so "NACHGERECHNET" wird - schau dir doch das Video an was ich ein paar Beiträge weiter unten geschrieben habe - DESWEGEN isses Cheating - nicht die Maus.
i am PC Gamer and Console Gamer... so i just can say... i would be feel cheap when i own people on XBOX Live with the ulterior motive that im using an Cheat Device like this. And yeah its just a cheating device - nothing else (flick ability of mouse + aim assist on consoles = no chance for Controller). Im a Gamer now since 15 years, playd even Counterstrike on 3.x BETA - But this is just a very sad testimony of nowaays Gaming Community - And Microsoft dont do anything about this.

Yeah, i see that the comparison with the wheel etc. is not exactly the same. But it pretty much goes into that direction... Ppl buy special thumbsticks they put on there controllers. For some ppl its an ADVANTAGE... Some of the guys i played with, change there controller, (made it less heavy, etc.), all that methods are an ADVANTAGE for THEM. If i give them a Xim3, they will play a week and still want to go back to a controler, cause they like it more and they still better with it
a Mouse isnt a AXIS device... the Joystick IS a AXIS device - thats the reason why u have to train with a controller when ever playd with a Mouse. Because you cant flick with a Controller - With a controller u only can "move up/ down" any axis TO a specific point. Beside that - With a Mouse your physical deadzone is nearly eliminated. Thats the reason why i hate this devices. But i think u cant understand that.

Was AXIS genau bedeuted weiss ich nich, aber jo, man ist mit nem Controller natürlich krass viel limitierter, das ganze is nie so smooth und flüssig, sondern viel steifer und gehackter... ruckartiger. Selbst nach nem Jahr aim ich immer noch wie MÜLL, verglichen mit Leuten dies können. Ich KANN und WILL darum nicht mitm Controler aimen können. Darum find ichs nur fair, wenn so zock. Das Problem speziell an dem XIM3 is dasses nen speziellen Algorithmus für jedes Spiel benutzt damits net "abgehakt" wirkt (nennt sich smartfilter glaub ich bei dem ding) - andere Hardware wie zb FragFX besitzen sowas nicht daher empfind ich das auch nicht als cheaten (echte Achsen Emulation ohne Nachberechnung) - AXIS = Achse - ne Maus hat keine Achse daher auch keine physikalische Deadzone

Der controller selbst kann nur Achsen weitergeben (Achse 1 (aim): X und Y und Achse 2 (move) X und Y) - wennste jetzt die Maus bewegst wird das Movement der Maus (is technisch komplizierter... zu lang für nen YT Kommentar) in "Achsen" umgerechnet bei FragFX zB kannst dadurch keine "kleinen Kreise" machen weils jedesmal ein diamant förmiges Konstrukt wird (entsteht durch das umrechnen)
@imtheFreshest XIM3 ermöglicht durch mathematische nachberechnungen im Chip eine "nachberechnung" der eigentlichen Emulation -> und die eigentlichen Koordinaten welche an die Konsole gesendet werden sind dadurch um mehr als die Hälfte genauer - zuem ne Maus eben keine Deadzone hat (deadzone => maßangaben bis eine Kontrolle reagiert [Joystick mitte]) und wenn dein Kommentar mit Winfaktor ernst gemeint ist ... tust mir einfach leid - aber ja die Gamer sind anscheinend so heutzutage.
Ja, ich seh deine Überlegungen aus der technischen Sicht machen schon Sinn, aber du machst immer noch einen Denkfehler wenn du es als cheating bezeichnest. Hax, nimmt einem "Arbeit" ab. @imtheFreshest Ok dann nehmen wir den typischen no Recoil Hack (kein Aimbot) - No Recoil hacks gleichen dir den generierten Rückstoss einer Waffe so aus dass jede Kugel gradaus schiesst. Das Gleiche macht XIM3 nur nicht in Dingen Recoil - sondern in Dingen der Steuerung - XIM3 gleicht jede physikalische Bariere (die log. weise nicht korrigierbar ist am Controller) per digitaler Technik aus. Is das noch immer zu Hoch für dich ?

Aber für mich zB ist Konsolen Spielen was andres als PC.Wenn ich auf der Konsole zock isses für entspannter auf der Couch zu sitzen mitn Controller, viele Consoleros sind so - und heutige Games wie Call of Duty brauchen auch im gegensatz zu älteren Titeln wenig shooting Skill (weilse auf der Console entwickelt werden)

..Da sind Leute mit langer PC Erfahrung, die sich anpassen und ihrer Freunde wegen etc. zocken schon echt seltener. Die meisten bleiben beim PC, da das Niveau (stilistisch, skilltechnisch, moddingtechnisch, leistungstechnisch usw, usw,usw.) viel höher ist, PLUS man muss sich net mit diesem verkrüppelten Scheissding namens controller (du siehst meine Liebe zu den dingern ist gross ;)) rumschlagen. @MrNutzCrusher You definitely seem more like the child here. I guess you kind of missed the fact that I am using a Razer Diamondback and a Rocketfish mousepad. Just from the mouse, you can infer that I've been PC gaming for many years. Go check the release date on that mouse. I use a XIM3 because I want the ability to play with my friends who cannot afford a gaming pc. The XIM3's resulting movements are limited to what a controller can do, so someone with a XIM3 + mouse can't turn faster etc.

I've never played a console FPS with a pad ever, so I never had a chance to get mad like a child. I never even considered buying a Xbox until I saw a XIM2 review which made me give it a shot. I am a PC gamer, who wanted to play fps's with his friends who couldn't afford gaming pc's.

@MrNutzCrusher You find the need to vent on the internet about your own frustrations from playing COD on Xbox. I'm on here to help promote a device I am a beta tester for and believe in. I believe all consoles should allow people to play with a mouse and keyboard. Hopefully my efforts, the efforts of other youtubers with XIM3's, the efforts of the XIM3 creator, etc will result in Microsoft taking notice and make consoles with the default ability to support a mouse/keyboard.
@TheBeelzebub I'm very interested in getting one if it's truly responsive and doesn't lag on input. I'm mostly a PC player and try many times getting on FPSes in my XBox but even when you kill everything, it's still not fun, just, boring. Just like controlling a robot, not a human soldier. There's a dozen FPS titles here wishing to stop gathering dust, if this device is really 1:1 input.

It doesnt. Read the forums and posts on delay, its nearly nothing. I am not a tech junky, knowing all the ins and outs of hardware, but its faster than the xim2 somehow.

Everyone seems to keep asking for my XIM2 Config. Here is what I used with my 1600 DPI Diamondback. Remember that what DPI I used is relative to my sensitivities! Keyb Prim Sens: 1.0 Keyb Secondary Sens: 0.5 Deadzone: 6700 Circular YXRatio: 1.75 Translation Exponent: 0.4 Sens Prim Mouse: 5300 Sens Sec Mouse: 6500 Sens toggle: MouseRight Diag Dampen: 0 Smoothness: 0.3 Update Rate: 125 usually, but I've tried with 154 and it seems to work even better than 125.
How does your xim2 work so good and your mouse goes were you want it? Ever config I have tried all my xim2 wants to do is look at the ground or sky and do 360's. Not to mention the wasd keys don't work for me. When I hit the w key mine wants to go backwards and when I hit the s key it goes to the right.
XIM3 provides a much better experience than a XIM3; you should look into getting one instead of an Aimon. Auto aim turned off makes it easier for some people. I turn it off most of the time. Even if you turn it off, there is still a minute amount present.
@igrenade XD get the aimon xb, but if u want ur own keyboard and mouse. that sad for u.on the ps3 we have a thing called the eagle eye, which costs less than 50 bucks, allitle more complicated to setup, but just as smooth as the xim3.
That's a pretty damn good price for a gaming rig that lets you play with all of your friends who can't afford gaming PC's or who have no clue how to build one. You can't factor in the cost of a small monitor or keyboard/mouse because you have to buy them for a PC as well if you went that direction.
I have a XIM3, Shipito helped with international shipment as I'm in Europe. The Xim 3 costs 150 dollars.Shipping taxes and 45 more euros for customs raised the price of getting to use to arround 200 euros. For those who have the money and cant stand using the Xbox controller it's worth it, it's a HUGE difference, you actually can aim now. Some problems with controlling the RCXD, I couldn't turn it fast enough with the mouse. The lag is still there so no miracles happening.
So is there a lot better control than using the controller? Are you finding yourself more accurate with kills? I suck using the control...would this help my game?
so the actual to the store thing is it opens when they wanna open it. Keeps the store from being swarmed. Input lag on CRTs is measured in nanoseconds, whereas LCDs and plasma displays can range anywhere from 1ms to 120ms depending on their screen quality and the amount of image processing applied. CRTs also reproduce colors more accurately, have wider viewing angles, and more or less do everything better than LCDs/plasmas outside of size, weight, and power consumption comparisons. The FW-900 itself is one of the best commercially-available desktop CRTs to have existed.

@CEOrko And which human can determine the difference between 1 - 2ms? Also that's usually TV screens. I'm playing on a standard Samsung SyncMaster, and I can't tell the difference quite frankly. I feel no input lag at all, whether I'm playing on a PC or my PS3. I know those 1.6 players who believes they'll achieve better performance by demoting themselves to CRT monitors, and it's just really awkward. And even though you might get 'true' colors, it's still an analog signal being transmitted

Usually people can't distinguish between anything lower than 20m, except it's disgustingly easy to feel input lag with a mouse at high latency. This was a problem with the XFPS adapters the first XIM used. The XFPS' low-quality construction introduced a 35ms latency on top of screen lag. This sometimes made the XIMs have a floaty, sluggish, unresponsive feel. Removal of the XFPS from the loop has mostly solved this issue, but extra slow screens can still cause this problem on their own.

As for PC games, latency stacks regardless and taking a 40ms hit with a *VA panel is just putting oneself that much behind those who don't. The difference between a fast reaction speed and an average one isn't always going to be great enough to offset that difference of hardware, in which case the faster monitor makes sense without also taking in to account that it benefits the player in other ways by not showing them an image that is X amount of time older than the present.

zum 2ten Beitrag: Du verstehst den eigentlichen Sinn nicht: Das teil verbessert dein Aim - nicht die Maus. Du kannst in nem Spiel genauer zielen als jeder einzelne mit der Maus weil das aim von dem Gerät so "NACHGERECHNET" wird - schau dir doch das Video an was ich ein paar Beiträge weiter unten geschrieben habe - DESWEGEN isses Cheating - nicht die Maus.

i am PC Gamer and Console Gamer... so i just can say... i would be feel cheap when i own people on XBOX Live with the ulterior motive that im using an Cheat Device like this. And yeah its just a cheating device - nothing else (flick ability of mouse + aim assist on consoles = no chance for Controller). Im a Gamer now since 15 years, playd even Counterstrike on 3.x BETA - But this is just a very sad testimony of nowaays Gaming Community - And Microsoft dont do anything about this.

1. Wheels - everyone who play racinggames in Leagues will say you Wheels suck - The reason why: Reaction Time
2. Arcade Joysticks: Yap in Fighting Games mostly there are many Guys with Arcade Joysticks BUT - you have no physical/reaction downs/ups BESIDE the Layout of Buttons
3. XIM3 => imho (i can play with controller AND mouse) its a big physical advantage cuz of the fact all games have AIM ASSIST (ok Vegas 2 not... but nowadays all Games hav AA)

Yeah, i see that the comparison with the wheel etc. is not exactly the same. But it pretty much goes into that direction... Ppl buy special thumbsticks they put on there controllers. For some ppl its an ADVANTAGE... Some of the guys i played with, change there controller, (made it less heavy, etc.), all that methods are an ADVANTAGE for THEM. If i give them a Xim3, they will play a week and still want to go back to a controler, cause they like it more and they still better with it

a Mouse isnt a AXIS device... the Joystick IS a AXIS device - thats the reason why u have to train with a controller when ever playd with a Mouse. Because you cant flick with a Controller - With a controller u only can "move up/ down" any axis TO a specific point. Beside that - With a Mouse your physical deadzone is nearly eliminated. Thats the reason why i hate this devices. But i think u cant understand that.

Was AXIS genau bedeuted weiss ich nich, aber jo, man ist mit nem Controller natürlich krass viel limitierter, das ganze is nie so smooth und flüssig, sondern viel steifer und gehackter... ruckartiger. Selbst nach nem Jahr aim ich immer noch wie MÜLL, verglichen mit Leuten dies können. Ich KANN und WILL darum nicht mitm Controler aimen können. Darum find ichs nur fair, wenn so zock. Das Problem speziell an dem XIM3 is dasses nen speziellen Algorithmus für jedes Spiel benutzt damits net "abgehakt" wirkt (nennt sich smartfilter glaub ich bei dem ding) - andere Hardware wie zb FragFX besitzen sowas nicht daher empfind ich das auch nicht als cheaten (echte Achsen Emulation ohne Nachberechnung) - AXIS = Achse - ne Maus hat keine Achse daher auch keine physikalische Deadzone

@w4ndregal So ein Ding übrigens is mit ein bisschen Hirn und Recherche ziemlich leicht nachzubauen - das einzige wobei XIM3 sich abhebt is eben die Nachberechnung der Achsen - deswegen isses Cheaten - zudem da alle spiele nen Aim Assist haben hast mit der nicht vorhandenen Deadzone (dank Algo) nen eindeutigen Vorteil. N Kumpel vo mir hats selbst und ich habs ausprobiert - es is absolut BILLIG Online damit zu zocken

Der controller selbst kann nur Achsen weitergeben (Achse 1 (aim): X und Y und Achse 2 (move) X und Y) - wennste jetzt die Maus bewegst wird das Movement der Maus (is technisch komplizierter... zu lang für nen YT Kommentar) in "Achsen" umgerechnet bei FragFX zB kannst dadurch keine "kleinen Kreise" machen weils jedesmal ein diamant förmiges Konstrukt wird (entsteht durch das umrechnen)

@imtheFreshest XIM3 ermöglicht durch mathematische nachberechnungen im Chip eine "nachberechnung" der eigentlichen Emulation -> und die eigentlichen Koordinaten welche an die Konsole gesendet werden sind dadurch um mehr als die Hälfte genauer - zuem ne Maus eben keine Deadzone hat (deadzone => maßangaben bis eine Kontrolle reagiert [Joystick mitte]) und wenn dein Kommentar mit Winfaktor ernst gemeint ist ... tust mir einfach leid - aber ja die Gamer sind anscheinend so heutzutage.

Ja, ich seh deine Überlegungen aus der technischen Sicht machen schon Sinn, aber du machst immer noch einen Denkfehler wenn du es als cheating bezeichnest. Hax, nimmt einem "Arbeit" ab. @imtheFreshest Ok dann nehmen wir den typischen no Recoil Hack (kein Aimbot) - No Recoil hacks gleichen dir den generierten Rückstoss einer Waffe so aus dass jede Kugel gradaus schiesst. Das Gleiche macht XIM3 nur nicht in Dingen Recoil - sondern in Dingen der Steuerung - XIM3 gleicht jede physikalische Bariere (die log. weise nicht korrigierbar ist am Controller) per digitaler Technik aus. Is das noch immer zu Hoch für dich ?

@imtheFreshest is ganz einfach - Ich zB hab mir vor 3 Jahren son Teil selbst gebaut (hatte relativ genaue Kontrollen - aber nur für Rainbow Six Vegas 2). Aber für mich zB ist Konsolen Spielen was andres als PC.Wenn ich auf der Konsole zock isses für entspannter auf der Couch zu sitzen mitn Controller, viele Consoleros sind so - und heutige Games wie Call of Duty brauchen auch im gegensatz zu älteren Titeln wenig shooting Skill (weilse auf der Console entwickelt werden)

..Da sind Leute mit langer PC Erfahrung, die sich anpassen und ihrer Freunde wegen etc. zocken schon echt seltener. Die meisten bleiben beim PC, da das Niveau (stilistisch, skilltechnisch, moddingtechnisch, leistungstechnisch usw, usw,usw.) viel höher ist, PLUS man muss sich net mit diesem verkrüppelten Scheissding namens controller (du siehst meine Liebe zu den dingern ist gross ;)) rumschlagen. @imtheFreshest Wenn ich wirklich mit Ehrgeiz zocken will spiel ich heut von mir aus CounterStrike, ARMA2 OA oder Battlefield 2 - da braucht man auch wirkliche Maus/Keyboard Kontrollen. Deswegen spiel ich heut auch wieder mit nem Controller - und dem hintergedanken dass es einfach BILLIG ist online mit solchen Teilen zu zocken während andere diesen Vorteil nicht haben - aber das is nunmal mein "oldschool Gamer" denken.

@imtheFreshest zu deinem 3tten Post => Es is das typische Verhalten eines Cheaters.... anstatt sich Skill in etwas anzueignen ein "Hilfsmittel" zu benutzen welches dir nen Vorteil gibt. Wie gesagt - ich hab nix gegen echte Achsenemulation (FragFX und wie sie alle heissen - son Teil hab ich sogar scho selbst gebaut) aber XIM3 gehört speziell ausn Online Bereich Verbannt - nicht weil ich abloose sondern weil ich das gleichstelle mit AIMBOTS und Wallhacks da ich die technischen Hintergründe kenne.

Das is der Grund warum in meinen Augen speziell XIM3 verbannt gehört.

@MrNutzCrusher You definitely seem more like the child here. I guess you kind of missed the fact that I am using a Razer Diamondback and a Rocketfish mousepad. Just from the mouse, you can infer that I've been PC gaming for many years. Go check the release date on that mouse. I use a XIM3 because I want the ability to play with my friends who cannot afford a gaming pc. The XIM3's resulting movements are limited to what a controller can do, so someone with a XIM3 + mouse can't turn faster etc.

I've never played a console FPS with a pad ever, so I never had a chance to get mad like a child. I never even considered buying a Xbox until I saw a XIM2 review which made me give it a shot. I am a PC gamer, who wanted to play fps's with his friends who couldn't afford gaming pc's.

I believe all consoles should allow people to play with a mouse and keyboard. Hopefully my efforts, the efforts of other youtubers with XIM3's, the efforts of the XIM3 creator, etc will result in Microsoft taking notice and make consoles with the default ability to support a mouse/keyboard.

I'm mostly a PC player and try many times getting on FPSes in my XBox but even when you kill everything, it's still not fun, just, boring. Just like controlling a robot, not a human soldier. There's a dozen FPS titles here wishing to stop gathering dust, if this device is really 1:1 input.

How does your xim2 work so good and your mouse goes were you want it? Ever config I have tried all my xim2 wants to do is look at the ground or sky and do 360's. Not to mention the wasd keys don't work for me. When I hit the w key mine wants to go backwards and when I hit the s key it goes to the right.
What am I doing wrong?

XIM3 provides a much better experience than a XIM3; you should look into getting one instead of an Aimon. Auto aim turned off makes it easier for some people. I turn it off most of the time. Even if you turn it off, there is still a minute amount present.

@igrenade XD get the aimon xb, but if u want ur own keyboard and mouse. that sad for u.on the ps3 we have a thing called the eagle eye, which costs less than 50 bucks, allitle more complicated to setup, but just as smooth as the xim3.

That's a pretty damn good price for a gaming rig that lets you play with all of your friends who can't afford gaming PC's or who have no clue how to build one. You can't factor in the cost of a small monitor or keyboard/mouse because you have to buy them for a PC as well if you went that direction.

And for those that don't have a small monitor, you have to waste another 150 bucks for a decent 21 inch screen.
It's a great piece of tech non the less.
Not worth the money in my opinion.

I have a XIM3, Shipito helped with international shipment as I'm in Europe. The Xim 3 costs 150 dollars.Shipping taxes and 45 more euros for customs raised the price of getting to use to arround 200 euros. For those who have the money and cant stand using the Xbox controller it's worth it, it's a HUGE difference, you actually can aim now. Some problems with controlling the RCXD, I couldn't turn it fast enough with the mouse. The lag is still there so no miracles happening.

so the actual to the store thing is it opens when they wanna open it. Keeps the store from being swarmed. I got mine today at around 10:15....and it was not open before that time cause i had checked it on my phone like 5 minutes before that. so you just have to keep watching the store.
