Thanks for these two videos Lanyn. I never realized prior to watching these that Rebirth's battle system had so much to it.

...or that you could actually jump in battle...seeing as how before watching your tutorial I had never seen anyone use it in a video.

i cant thank you enough for the videos and story guide. this is my first time playing a imported game and im surprisingly getting through it pretty good. im still a little confused on the whole equipment enhances and turning the force cube. i just gold hilda hopefully ill have a better understanding of it all soon.

OK, quick question, how do I issue attack commnads to my other party members?

it doesn't work to me :( i get the bar full(the 1 lookin like a boomerang) and then i when the monster is glowing in red it doesn't say anything about finality break and i have the right characters for hi ougi am i doin sumthin wrong?

Wait, you can only do Hi-Ougis when there is only one enemy present on the battlefield? Wtf?

Hi-Ougis are called "Finalities" in this game. They are dynamic finishing blows meant to end the battle for you, so yeah, you can only use them when you have one weakened enemy on the field.

What's wrong? It's not like Abyss where you can spam your Mystic Artes over and over and hope for a victory.

Well, it just seems like a waste, then. They're nice to watch and all, but I'd rather have a powerful move to help in the middle of battle, not to finish a battle I was already winning.

I'm kind of cerious...i don't have Swap Magic yet and i might not get it for a while to come but is Rebirth worth getting if i can't understand japanese? it sounds stupid to get a game you can't understand but for me the battle system is enough to keep me interested

so do you think it's worth getting in my case?

Absolutely! There's a good number of resources out there to help you understand the storyline and the battle system, so I highly recommend that you give the game a try if you're even the slightest bit interested. Best Tales game I've played thus far by a long shot. ^^

And if you want to hear a stupid excuse for playing a game, I originally picked up Rebirth because I wanted to hear Veigue's famous KUREA scream. Seriously.
