  • *SIGH* Real live singing and no auto-tune, I miss real performances like this.

  • I love Dionne but she is not a belter in the style of Patti or Gladys and was often overshadowed by them when they sang together. She sings in a simpler manner, like Diana Ross or Smokey Robinson.

  • @DaxShaw not in the sense that's what she does often, but Dionne can and did belt check her out in the tribute show to Count Basie were she sings "I know I'll Never Love this Way again"!!! Dionne likes to stick with the melody.

  • @Nikray She did a good job with Love at Second Sight too. Patti's just a lot louder than Dionne and their styles don't combine that great at times imho.

  • nice song of course Mrs Gladys is the bomb, man Mrs Gladys hair is the bomb you can tell she has some good hair

  • Dionne <3

  • Did they cut Dionnes verse?

  • this is what happen when you g et all 3 divas on one track theay can sing it go Patti GLADYS DIONNE

  • I wish someone could tell me what album this song is on...

  • @damienca2ga Gladys's album, "Good Woman".

  • Damn. I would have absolutly turned over in my grave (even though I dont have one yet) if Aretha Franklin was in this little group.

  • Gladys Knight is so underrated. In my opinion, she should be the queen of soul. That woman can BLOW!!!

  • they look glamourous!

  • ok, but what did gladys have on?

  • They all have pretty legs! Very nice.

  • awesome upload!

  • I love Gladys' hair! So nice and ladylike!

  • waw god times back then

  • The old Whitney had all of Dionne's mannerisms...right down to the way she kicks her feet out when she is singing

  • What did Patti say @ 3:13 -3:15 ?

  • @darcellbios "I don't wanna be, No no (Super super superwoman)"

  • this was 1992

  • SANG PATTI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why my generation only focuses on popularity to win a contest like american idol

    and not on talent

im only 16 years old and i much enjoy listening on this talented ladies that does modern songs with no very good meaning in thier lyrics

  • @cervejerano me 2

  • I like Phyllis Hyman's tribute version better then the original.

  • Why is it that when truly talented people do something together, similar or are somehow compared to each other, their fans have to act as if they can't be taken anywhere.

ITS ALMOST LIKE GETTING A SIDE SHOW OF IDIOTS!

just let them do their thing and DO NOT COMPARE!

    damn!

    Where are my keys?

  • I agree, why do they need to be compared all 3 of them are very talented and happen to be friends. Back then and now, you have very few singers of today who can sing like these ladies still can sang !!

  • these chicks have known each other, since those "chit'lun circuit" days, I think....Im thinkin, they've known one another for 50 years or so. Thats a long ass time, dude.

  • These three women are the consumate performers. I remember this show, and I remember hearing the rumor that Dionne and Gladys told Patti that she sings too loud. I could believe it, because Dionne is very outspoken and so it Gladys, but they did a good job, although I hate this song, they did it justice. These are the True Diva's - Missing is Diana, Whitney, Celine, all the Torch Song Diva's, that can do ballads and make your jaw drop.

  • Patti is outspoken too......lol

  • @broke2471 it was dionne not gladys, patii said that on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

  • @koolmom46 - Yeah that's right, I remember now...thanks.

  • That was fantastic. Thanks for posting. Had me singing along.

  • Patti looked so great!

  • These ladies are the real deal when it comes to putting on a show. They are legends. They have work hard to get where they are. Just let us enjoy them and not pick them apart.Thes fine black women are our treauser to the music world.

  • I love Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle. They are the best.

  • YOU SUCK! Dionne is an international musical ledgend and star... she is an American icon around the globe.. she is not Gladys or Patti, and they are not Dionne. She is one of the great pop music geniuses of all time, and will be remembered as such. What have you ever acomplished? You are obviously musically inept. They are all great in their own way! Learn to appreciate the differences in all of us, which makes us all better for being different! No need to reply, SUCKER!! LOL!!

  • Great clip love all the ladies...and pahprd you are so correct Dionne stands among on a few stars of her era who can still perform in any area of the world. And be held a real international superstar. In terms of female singers only Streisand, Turner and Ross are the only ladies that I know would do the same from Dionne's era. Nothing against the great Gladys or Patti.

  • @Nikray I totally agree, Dionne and all the ladies are great. And I will quote someone else, you do not have to sing loud to be a great singer, Dionne proves that.

  • @Nikray Cher is from the era of Dionne, Streisand, Turner and Ross and could perform in any area of the world. She's been able to maintain a high level of international stardom.

  • @DaxShaw very true Cher is a legend and has shown that she care her own weight with other stars. I don't know how I could forget Cher.

  • Ha, Ha!!!!

  • wow. not sure if the whole tour was like this, but it seemed dionne was relegated to background singer's status...and she seemed pretty okay with that.

  • its funny but dionne is singing with so much restraint but her thick natural huskiness is heard over patti and glady's belting.

  • so true! she's rocking it!

  • I love this song i have the video im gonna upload it.

  • get the hell out, they simply own this song, so awesome

  • I saw Patti back in 2004 in NYC in Central Park ....she is so awesome. As for the other two ladies...well, it's just an awesome trio of three amazingly gifted, talented singers coming together on one stage... peace out

  • These 3 great ladies of soul were actually the very 1st DIVAS LIVE in 1986 with

SISTERS IN THE NAME OF LOVE. for HBO

  • can you please upload the good quality!

  • 'Scuse me?

  • You wouldn't see something like this today. 3 seperate talented singers get together and kill it. Music just ain't what it use to be

  • I forgot how good Gladys looked with that haircut.

  • U betta go head Gladys&Patti......Patti just loves those short dresses.....show dem legs Patti....sexy sexy sexy

  • I like this version...the Oprah one was better....cause they all sung and Patti REALLY got into it.

  • I believe that Freaking Dionne must have said something else to our girl, for her to turn it down somewhat... LOL

  • yes patti

  • OMG Why didn't Dionne her part of the song?

  • They didn't do the 2nd verse, due to time limits, this song is actually over 6 minutes and this version fit better. But damn they all did well especially Empress Gladys and Patti as usual.

  • Oh ok thank you for that info because I was like "Huh? Where is D?" I thought maybe it was because in person D's voice is no where near Gladys or Patti "SCREAMING" wise but she can sing and is more of a "Style Singer" all the ladies did great I think this version is 100% as good as but not better then Karyan White's version and hers is not better then Gladys Patti a & Dionne it's just equal!

  • Karyn's was good, because it was the 1st one.

But everytime I hear it now, it really annoys me. I love singers that sing from their souls. Karyn to me was just singing a great song written by Babyface for her debut lp. These Sistas KNOW what they are sanging about. Karyn sounds like a lil girl whining, don't get me wrong, I still love her, but to me this will be the greatest song by the sisters in the name of love.

  • I totally see your personal view point and even though I don't agree i'm not going to say your wrong because those who believe in something are never 100% wrong but yeah great point!

  • The Ultimate SUPERGROUP!!

THE EMPRESS OF SOUL GLADYS KNIGHT with

    Patti LaBelle & Dionne Warwick

    AWESOME!!!

  • wat is this from nd wat year

  • 13th Annual Black Achievement Awards. idk what year.....

  • Had to be late 1991 or early 92,

Empress lp came out in October 91 and the 1st single was the #1 hit "Men" and "Superwoman" came out near the end of November 91

  • Could you post more from the 2nd installment of the Sisters in the Name of Love hbo special.

  • Oh this wasn't a special. I was just calling them the Sisters In The Name Of Love
