  • The beat from "This is what I do I sit on you"????

  • takumi in real life

  • Honestly I don't like drifting.... I'm sure I couldn't drift like that no matter what you did to the car....... but watching the on-boards of these guys drifting the miata is way more impressive because the car is not good at it, and you can see how much harder they have to work to keep it going.

  • @Wedge4Life you dont like drifting? then go away.

  • @deltafarce7 no i prefer racing ..... so what?

  • @Wedge4Life if you dont like drifting, why r u watching vids

  • There is some amazing skills there

  • anyone know what benifit pumping the clutch mid-drift has on the drift?

  • @206frankthetank Google "clutch kick"

  • @206frankthetank Its called a clutch kick, its used to break rear traction as the car starts to grip instead of slip like it should to maintain the drift.

Its basically like when you drop the clutch from a stop, which causes tire spin, holding the drift out longer than possible with a low powered car, which cannot spin the tires up indefinitely like high-powered cars.

  • @206frankthetank Yes, it is used when the drift is about to die out, when you hold the gas pedal flat out and kick the clutch, the rpm of the engine rise and when you lift it induces more spin to the tires to continue the drift.

  • Anybody know the name of the girl that's always in a bikini?

  • drifting... badass...

  • I thought this as well. From what I've seen, Kazama is a little better than his teacher.

  • isnt that guy from tokyo drift looks like him

  • @jjlupas11

That is the guy from Tokyo Drift. The one who sit at the peer fishing :L because he is a drift legend they asked him to be in it :P

  • @xIxInfamousxIx yeah i was like wow its that fisherman dude! #LOL

  • @jjlupas11 yep! the man who created drifting.

  • bloody hell that must kill the clutch !!

  • Cant you hear the car? Its saying Whhhhhyyy! Whhhhyyyy!!!

  • from my point of view Rhys Millen show better skill than Ken Gushi. More smoother on first run..

  • ... you have to be very aggresive yet very smooth... aggresive with steering and smooth with weight transfer...

  • doesnt matter japanese or usdm made! iff its rwd and sidewayswilling! ill drift it!

  • "Very good, wow, impressive!" ;D why thank you

  • i love these japanese girls in their videos.

  • 3:10 OOH MYY JESUS shes beautiful.... . such a sexy nismo logo, i dont think ive seen one like it before

    i want 1

  • Way too much body roll lol. Suspension needs to be tightened up big time.

  • @dgk990 its called stock for a frickin reason dude!

  • lol Tscuchia is to kazama as bunta is to takumi

  • @LexusFman Tsuchiya.. lol easy to spell :D

  • Kazama's 3rd run he used dirt drop, excessive clutch kick, and compression slide.

  • kazama is in my all-time top 5.

  • LOL Although he screwd up with understeer HAHAHAHHA He's soo accurate^^

  • cool want to try and drift with a cab :D

  • clutck kick, shift lock, ebrake.; kazama used all of these to set the perfect drift angle.

  • ken gushi!!!! yeaaaaa!!!!

  • wow, rhys looks like a dork amongst these guys.

  • Rhy's so damn confused hahaha

  • is this guy the best in the world or what?

  • No, he just doesn't speak English, that's why I said he looks so damn confused.

  • american cars.? thas wassup.

  • i look at 6:15 the mustang have a better position on drifting than the mazda before, i thought... the driver or the car?

  • analmunkey

AT LEAST WE DON'T KILL PEOPLE FOR OIL

so the americans drift is not a joke??

you just watch how the japanese do it and you want to like them....BUT YOU CAN'T

  • lol my god i just read thru all these comments. many of you are forgetting about the one biggest and most important thing about drifting! its about having fun! who cars who spun and who held the better line, as long as your all out there with a smile on ya face thats all that counts! You watch any comp and you'll see there all having a laugh noones serious its all a giggle! lighten up people!

  • LET THE EXCUSES FLY!! The problem lies is the fact that american "drifting" is just a glorified power slide. They use tons of power, over the top suspension setups and completely abuse the E-brake.. it's sloppy at best...You see the Japanese drifters can drift ANYTHING! The only time they touch the E-brake (if ever) is to correct over stear ...They were risking their lives for their craft in the mountains before they became famous. The US just cant hang right now..

  • Rhys Millen is from New Zealand.

  • America is based on immigration, so of course the people representing are from some other country.

  • americans are copying jap drift cars now hehe

  • we every one is just copying phyisicis in that inpresin lol

  • can i ask who drifting first, usa or japanese? As there is the skyline, sylvia, 200 sx from japan, but Im not sure on what usa cars there are but i am sure they have one now?

  • Japanese invented this "sport"

  • japan may have the cars for drifting but americans have the motors. a big v8 is best for drifting

  • I know what you mean & Americans do have big powerfull engines tht do wheelies:)& they drift supurbly, but theres something original about drifting tht to me & maybe many more relates as a japanese originality, always think of the skyline & if i was to drift would almost pick the skyline or mazda rx7, i feel when the japanese first started the drifting they used these type of cars for this?& i think there are alot of copycats now,its like why have the replica when you can have the real thing!:)

  • drifting started with "crapy" hand me down cars that didnt really have much power like toyot carollas and datsuns. later in the video the one driver refers to practicing with a "hatchiroku" with is japanese for the number 86. Hes talking about the AE86 carolla

  • @emptyomen wrooooooooooooooooooooooooong

  • @reddead255 lmao, ok sure guy.

  • @emptyomen ok first im half japanese i do go there ever summer to practice cause the drifters here in he USA fucking suck there worse then the cars they drive the cars that was on your comment you are right but it didn't start that way it started cause they would race in the mountain roads where i learned which my grandmother and grandfather both live 1 and 30 mins away from the very mountain

  • @reddead255 it didnt say one single thing about HOW it started????? what are you talking about? the only thing i was talkin about is the cars it started with

  • would it help to lower the car about 30mm ? to prevent "overspringing", caused of the relatively high centre of gravity due the "offroad roadster suspension"...

i think there is a reason that these driftkings re using race suspensions in their own cars.

a serious answer would be appreciated =)

    peace

  • Lowering is all good and fine, but it would only do well in conjunction with stiffening the suspension as a whole (though, most of the time, lowering will tighten the springs).

You are right about the center of gravity being effected, however, it would not do you well to lower your car with squishy springs so that the corners of the body pound and grind the track in each turn.

  • Kazama is my favorite first time i watched D1GP it was his Kei Office S15, hows the reaaal drift king? p.s that supposed drift king was named by a magazine not by us

  • of course to you it would be stupid but if you got your facts corrected its the biggest growing sport to date dont trash it just because u think its stupid keep your opinions to yourself and dont make your self look like an idiot on top of the ton of others that have done so on this site

  • Yeah, stick to your drag racing :D

  • EXCUSES. I cant believe he brought up excuses. Leave it to stupid American's to have excuses. Car doesn't have any torque, the suspension is off. WHAT BS. Learn to D R I V E!!!

  • he not an american hes an aussie

  • no one will come close 2 beating the japs they invented the sport

  • they are brilliant the japs your right, i wont buy any other car unless it jap now.japs dont brag either

  • @Powdes Thats like beating an American in NASCAR, no one turns left better than Americans.

  • none of you are thinking of the tire conditions. kazama actually has a huge advantage cuz the tires on the miata has warmed up and will break lose more easily, thats why he is able to connect that straight better. tires become butter quick at that track, i have had a good amount of drift time there.

he woulda probably won anyway... but still

  • the narrator mentioned kazama didnt use clutch kicking. thats a lie, he used it near the beginning and at the end.

  • Millen is a fuckin cock sucker

  • i probably know y kazama had a better score and everything...TIRE WEAR!! the tires wer probably already a little bit worn down from the pervious attempts...but hes still good no matter wat

  • alright, I know this is totally off topic but the song that starts at 1:40 was used in Tim & Eric's awesome show.. on the skit of "sit on you"

    anyways, this vid is awesome

  • That Kazama is amazing!!! That's a Lady's car he's driving not to mention that Miata is an underpowered car. That car was meant for shopping and a roundabout vehicle.

  • wtf? lady's car???

  • This is why people who drift with turbos and superchargers and high powered cars, they will never gain some of the skills that people who drive under powered cars need. Oh well, this is why there are so much different skill levels for drifting. Nice.

  • Agreed. But just my 2 cents, with the price of gas slowly climbing back up, trying to drift a less powerful more fuel economic stock car is the way to go for me. =)

  • Well, whatever works works. We play the cards we are dealt with, so if fuel economic drifting is next then go with it. You don't need to spend that much gas to drift, unless your cars a gas guzzler. Fuel Eco. cars are good, the fun of non-eco-cars, but the comfort of fuel economy

  • japanese king

  • japaneese drifters are the greatest

  • fuckin' LOVE this show!

the new miatas are a little too heavy for drifting... Mods to the suspension, exhaust and air intake are definitely a must once u get enough money...

  • just get the suspension and turbo it

  • first gen miatas would be so much better suited..they barely have any body roll

  • she sounds like a porn star ~__~"

  • lawl yes she does... O_O

  • @darkarsenal Berena Mei? she's fucking hot that's for sure... I met her here in CA... she'd do a perfect pornstar.

  • lol i love kazama

    SICKEEST DRIFTER

  • Kazama is awesome but I want to marry Verena Mei. She is HOT!!!

  • that car is SO LOOSE!!!!!!!!!! its to loose it makes the controlling hard. Driving a s15 would be nicer.

  • kazama- "i just realized im sitting on the passenger side."

    lol

  • lol yes XD

  • USA=MORE HP, JAPAN=BALANCE, outcome of drift battle=JAPAN FTW!

  • does anyone agree with me that the lower the horsepower of the car the more difficult ?

so it means that it requires more skill to drift an underpowered car ?

If you could drift a super underpowered car then it means you've almost atttained the peak (You are able to drift without losing much speed)

  • nope... an unpowered car is more forgiving when you drift. If u mess up... your more likely just get traction and straighten up. The 500+ hp drift machines arent as forgiving, if too much gas or not enough or even in the wrong gear at the wrong torque range could spell a spin out or even worse if your traveling over 65 mph.

  • dude...forgiving ? this is a race....speed is of the essence !

  • no its not. Its drifting... yea you wanna enter a drift at high speed and you want to keep close to the other driver if your in the rear, but it's doesnt mean anything if "cant" get angle. Have u seen the Ae86 Beat the Viper? It had 6 re-do and the 86's engine overheated. It was a while back tho... so i dont know if u can find the vid. I belive its Ueo that drove the 86.

Compare Rhy's run with Kazama's . Rhy's defintely a faster run the kazama but had no angle meanwhile Kazama drifted madly

  • dude drifting isnt racing...

    drifting is just style,

    not lap time

Drifting just cuz it involves cars isnt racing its just like breakdancing just for cars tho ~__~

  • so why is driving around in a circle any more of a sport?

  • what does this have to do with sports O_o some ppl dont consider racing a sport and some do...

that is personal opinion but theres a difference for Driving For Laptimes (racing) and driving For style (basicly drifting)

its kind of a common sense different ~__~'' not saying drifting ant bad or not fun or anything ~__~''

get a more logical question next time ~__~"''

  • your rifht about the lower hp. its much more difficult then driving with a car with more hp.

  • drifting started from rally racing, and it started in japan as a sport. the best frifters are those with years of experience. So that's why the Drift King is the king, lets admit it folks, he does have some years on him. Americans are good, they dont just have the sponsers, or the drift tracks like japan. go to a drift event here in the states and see all the hidden talent waiting to burst out when the next gen racers come in.

  • your wrong , if you watched any of Tsuchiya 's vids he said himself " i started drifting because when i race,I use to slide around the corners alot , It usually saved me from crashing to the walls " Rally racing is more of a pull of the ebrake and sliding on dirt. Drift is more of precision and tuning , tsuchiya inveted something that people like not those rally ricers

  • wow this shows you dont know shit with your rally comment. first off, you dont even have to use the ebrake. you mostly do Scandinavian Slides (5 bucks you dont know what that is) or you just power over. so go suck a penis

  • wow. go suck a penis how mature. oh figures your 14 years old. when you get a car talk cause i doubt you know any of the shit your talking

  • yea im sure u have a bmw m3 jackass

  • hmmm you have nothing better to do then commenct on a 1 month old comment wow

  • LOL... he didnt know what it was

  • its better being from new zealand cause where better at drifting... we learnt how to drift like the japanese did cause we have touge on our streets. drift king came to new zealand to compete in d1nz and LOST!!! he was like 8th

  • hahaha... u r the bigest joker.. u think people call him da king bcos he cant be defeated? naaa... it's bcos he initiated the whole circus man!

  • saudi are th eking in drifitng

  • THEY SUCK! king my ass. saudi drifting is a disgrace. thats the fuckin truth.

  • saudi drift doesnt existe .. i dont know why he call that drifting ^^ maybe arab need the definition of ''drift''

  • i agree most of their shit is idiotic...maybe they should just call it that...and whats up with the shitty techno music in all their vids?

  • saudi is a joke. anyone can spin around in circles as long as your dad owns an oil rig

  • hahahah good answer lol lol

  • i dont know why american wanna compete with the japs at drifting!!! japs are the kings of drifting and rhys millen isnt american. if you look like a new zealander and you sound like a new zealander then your a new zealander, not and an american but thats just my 2 cents

  • It isn't about nationality. It is who you represent.

  • In America if you hit the cone... you failed!!! lol... Japanese Drifters are the most insane drifters ever!

  • That's how drifting started, from the craziest driver ever, the Japanese. They are the real drifters.

  • damn...chick is cute...hopefully i'll see her when i enter D1 in 2009.

    97 white miata.

  • haha there like dressed up in power rangers unifrom/colors haha.

whos that girl in the red?

ive seen her drift but never got her name.

  • DAMN, rhys was breathing hard in the first part!!

  • PRO I WANNNA DO THIS :)
