I don't agree with you. I tend to separate composers from performers in a band, and it's particullary obvious from his single-career that Dickinson's personal songwriting, and Smith's experience with ASAP, both differ from Harris', who's the main character behind everything in Iron Maiden, the only one you can identificate the band with.

Outgoing and ingoing performers, vocalists like Dickinson and Bayley, guitarists as Smith and Gers...

Bruce may be the best singer in all Iron Maiden´s eras, some songs like Wrathchild, Running free and maybe Phantom of the opera are better sung with Bruce´s voice, but songs like Prowler (Di'Anno) and of course Lord of the flies (Blaze) aren´t for Bruce, I prefer the original ones.
