  • The lack of sound would scare me on our busy roads! Standing out to drivers is a challenge for bikers to been heard and seen today. Both my 4 strokes have changed exhausts which make them louder yet legal. This helps me when filtering for example. I can see safety problems riding an almost silent bike around built up areas - could be lethal!

  • with 240v charger how long would it take to charge? I'm guessing 3 hours or so

  • They get the price for the 100mph/100mi model down around $9-10K, and I just found my new commuter bike!

  • So where is this thing already?!?

  • Amen

  • So how is it a 2011 model if 2011 is nearly over and I still can't buy one?

I do think this bike looks very cool. I ride a big cruiser now. I would still keep my cruiser for road trips, but I think I could really enjoy my local rides to work & such on something like this.

  • @haarvey919 my thinking exactly. I ride a beemer tour cycle on road trips up and down the west coast, it's going to be a long time until an electric motor-driven cycle will match the range and speed, and recharge in an acceptable amount of time. But for running errands around town or even trips to the local twisties, this could be just the ticket.

  • woooaaaaaoooow!!!! esta moto es una nota yo quiero una :)

  • minus road tax = very expensive batters. Not worth the money guys!!

  • @jayere69 Total cost of ownership is much lower for electric

  • I met these guys just at a burger king before I knew who they were, they were really nice guy's.

  • I want this bike so bad...

  • The charge rate depends on the C rating of the batteries! A good example is the Tesla model s can charge the 300 mile battery in 45 minutes, i don't know the c rating for that battery but is self intuitive in that conclusion! Right now batteries aren't too bad but in 10 years will drastically improve, there is a new chemistry coming liquid carbon that will triple the run time at the least and five times at best and ten years after that we will have 1000 mile electric cars so it's not a long wait

  • tranmission?

  • Way too expensive and silent!!! Part of the fun of biking is the sound. Electric cars have already injured people because they can't here them coming - loud pipes save lives.

Surely modern science can invent an artificial and renewable replacement for petrol so that all the millions of bikes and cars won't just become scrap in future and we can still enjoy the sound of a big v-twin.

  • @hobbsey8 use a tape recorder. Record a big vtwin then play it loud as u ride an electric :-)

  • @hobbsey8

That's such a bullshit answer that gas addicts love to use for something that should have been a relic of ancient past a LONG time ago. In the end, there is just nothing good about the internal combustion engine. It's just a really loud air heater.

  • @hobbsey8

And how many people have 'loud' petrol cars injured? How about a diesel locomotive? They're quite loud.

Jet airplanes are also quite loud too, there's been a few people injured by those recently...

  • It is expensive but much of the expense is the Batteries. Cost nearly $4000.00 just for the batteries. Until that comes down, you'll see high prices on Electric Motorcycles.

  • @gijigadget Total cost of ownership is lower for electric. No servicing, no filters or oil only one moving part in the motor. A battery may be expensive but it's still cheaper than a petrol engine.

  • Way too expensive!!! You would think, they would make it so it charges itself while riding or has solar panels or something! These electric bikes are quiet so u can here all the parts rattling too.

  • Waaaaaaaayyyyyy over priced at $13,000+ for the 10.0... Even $10,000 for the 6.0 is way too much. At those prices I'll stick with a gas bike. And has anyone done the math yet? What does it cost to "fill up" an electric bike? And while no pollution is being produced by you at home or while riding, how much pollution does a power plant make producing that electricity? Just curious...

  • Ok, that's new to me.

When I was with friends in NY and Denver they only had 110v

and this: Mains electricity by country,

    says otherwise

  • Excellent! when can I try it in France?

  • Why can't you have interchangeable batteries? Have one charging while the other is in use? I miss something?

  • @xadart You can, but the battery pack is one of the most expensive components.

  • Wouldn't it be even better if it was belt drive?

  • Excelent this is the future !!!

  • Is it legal for a 16 year old to drive this in Az, USA?

  • 230v IS 220v, thats the same.

That goes everywhere (the output is BETWEEN 220V and 230V,

Only everyone here names it twotwenty.

  • Perfect commuter bike.

Pity the US is still using 110v, while about the rest of the world has 220v.

  • @BMWHP2 230V in Germany.

  • @BMWHP2 Most households in the US still have 230v outlets.

  • @tripsland if not its not hard to install one, theres two bars in most breaker boxes 110 each

  • 6/10 hours to "fill 'er up!". Balls.

  • Did you guys make "log" for the Ren and stimpy show...

Log log it's better than bad it's good....oh.. my bad that was blammo

  • i would have to test ride this thing before i bought it. nice looking bike tho. how would it hold up on mountain roads? will it hold 55 + mph will going all uphill for like and hour? would i have to drift back?

  • what happens if you go up into the hills of CA or va . thye really should put something like a spare propane thats way you can have propane and electrice motor.

  • @guardian22553 Having a fuel engine as well as the electric motor would probably be far too bulky for a bike. You'd probably be better off bringing a small generator with you if you thought you might run out in the middle of nowhere but I suspect the mileage when charging with a portable generator then using it to drive an electric motor would probably be pretty crappy.

  • Yes finally a Bike that is usefull for ninjas, deadly silent. Not just named ninja!!!

  • its garbage whats the point of having a motorcycle without woup woup sound

  • 100mph + 100mi = pretty fast hour

  • Shoot I weight 205 and would like to drive this thing from pearl ms to madison ms to work 18.5 one way every day. if I could go to work and back for two days straight without having to plug it up to charge. IM A HAPPY CAMPER. taking i 55n interstate from hwy 25/lakeland drive 60mph to first Madison ms exit most of the way. I assume I should get 75 miles per charge if I am easy on the throttle realistically?

  • I'd just get the 6.0. The addition from 60 to 100 miles doesn't open a whole lot of doors, the batteries are by far the most expensive part.

That oil cooled electric motor is a great technology. I agree with the guy who said it is now fast enough to be fun, more because of the acceleration potential of a bike that weighs under 400 lbs and makes 50 HP, right off idle, than because of the top speed. Still too expensive though, for an around town bike. No touring, no track days.

  • @medwards82 If im not mistaken..its a WATER cooled radiator thus a water cooled motor. Where do you get OIL cooled from?

  • @chronofusion I think I was confusing it with the MotoCzysz electric racebike, which is oil cooled. They could mean anti-freeze cooled I guess. Otherwise, would have to drain water for winter.

  • @medwards82 *shruggs shoulders* that's a first for me..ya learn something new everyday. I've never heard of anything Oil-cooled. hehe.

  • depends what range but the 6.0 model charges on a 220v outlet in 2.4 hours on 110 in 8 hours. 8.0 in 3.2 on 220v and 10 on 110v. and the 10.0 model in 4 hours on a 220v outlet and 12 on a 110v. thats what it says on the brammo website. battery life isnt known for sure but theyll probally outlast your want for the bike or something new/better will replace it before they die.

  • how long does it take to charge it with 220v outlet?

  • Ok.this is all the power I want from an electric bike. Two miles to work, two miles back.Plug it in when I get home, get a shower, get back on the bike,go to the store pick up sum beer and dinner..back home. It's perfect for what my needs are.For local commuting it's something I disire to have. it dosnt bother me that there is no big sound.more quit for the loud music I will be playing from the sound system I hook up to it. ;) Now I just have to come up with the money to get one.

  • lets see him making that turn in rain

  • its amazing how people complain about a 100 mile range i think its incredible. i could use this to go to school and back (35 miles each way). and charge it everyday when i get home.. and my dads commute is 32 miles each way to the airport to me this is a very practical way to commute... im defintally going to consider buying one. and it plugs into a standard socket and charges in 3-4 hours? you can plug it where you drive and ride it home fully charged.. or atleast enough to get a further range.

  • if they made a trike a three wheel copper Harley with one wheel in the front and two in the back they could use the space between the rear wheels for more battery storage if this bike gets 100 miles a trike could get 700miles between charges now that would be grate it can be done god dam it!!!

  • how many years does the battery last?

  • Max Revs, how many gears?

  • @StrEagle it has no gears. Electric motors put out max torque across the entire RPM range.

  • this us the way to go green :)

  • wow! the product life cycle sucks, theirs already a bike in dev. that can do 150 mph and get 150 miles per charge.

  • @sh3ikXI And which one is that? My money says it costs way more than the brammo.

  • it will be better if it can be charged faster

  • "Nothing beats the feeling of riding at 100+ miles per hour while listening to the constant revving sound of a dying blender" Meeeh...!!!

    FFS!

  • interesting...but i'm not gonna be first to try

  • You have the best channel name on yt FTW

  • you can not hear it, and it is the same range as a 45 mph and 3 gallon tank

  • very nice... now if you can have some extra packs of battery to be able to use it in full day rides (like 300 miles), that would be awesome...

  • So how long does it take to charge?

  • @walkman5410

Using a standard 110V outlet, Brammo says it will take roughly 60 minutes per KwH - so about six hours for the Empulse 6.0, eight hours for the 8.0 and 10 hours for the 10.0.

  • @motorcycle whatever, just say "over night"

  • @motorcycle in Europe the standard i think is 220V

  • @daswada9 yes it is

  • @motorcycle the standard for Europe is 220V so half the time

  • @motorcycle it only holds 6kwh?

  • @walkman5410 It must take at least a year to charge, cause I haven't seen any of them on the road yet. LOL Seriously, they are not yet out. Rumor has it they are adding a 6-speed electronic gear box. I prefer no clutch or gear shift myself, but I guess they have identified a market for people who want something that looks and feels more traditional. The weight is going to be up there too at 475 lbs. Personally, I prefer lighter and no shifting, like in the Zero.

  • not a fan

  • Put me down for the 6.0. I know the others get longer range, but the 60 mile range of the 6.0 will the perfect job for me. Get me from my little town to work and back or up into Seattle and home on a single charge. All done at a truly reasonable price. $10,000 to $14,000 is a good price in spite of what the naysayers will tell you. The only fast electric with any range before this was going at over $40,000. Add in the Federal and State incentives, and you could drop the price by thousands.

  • @Liv2xplore Minor correction, I saw the Roehr ESuperbike. Bottom end of price at around $14,000+ and going up from there. I can't say I'm in love with the looks of it, though. Certainly not compared to the Empulse. I don't think it will be as available either, I could be wrong about that. Lower price tag, bare bones styling, better sales and service infrastructure in place has Brammo winning for me.

  • @Liv2xplore Make that $16,965 according to their website. Goes up to $34,495. Brammo wins.

  • expensive and a bit ugly - my only 2 quarrels!

  • Although I'm a fan of loud beasts, I'll get one of these, for sure. Don't forget about the torque these things have, and the way they deliver it.

  • 100+ mile range is less than halfway there for me on many of my trips. This is a city bike.

  • This is awesome.

  • And what is with you guys and your fetish for loud noises?

  • @ElijasaurusRex

Louder bikes are more likely to get the attention of cagers, and so, less likely for them to pull out in front of u, cut u off, etc.

  • @adoniscomplex Alright, that makes sense to me. It seems like a few of these guys just like noise for noise's sake, though.

  • @ElijasaurusRex i dont get it either... i mean i love the orgasmic screams and moans of a woman.. but that's about the only "noise" that i like..

  • Comment removed

  • congrats brammo. you finnally built a good motorcycle

  • I am ready for electric motorcycle. Noise as an indicator of speed is self-delusory -- full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I'll take max torque at 0mph and silent running anyday.

  • they should use lituim polomer batteries. running at like 150vots prob would fly and rip

  • I really want to try one of these

  • @stuntbums its kind of like riding a bike with the cluth held in, really strange going round corners! Also You dont realise how much noise adds to the sensation of speed until you ride a bike that makes no sound

  • The fact that it is silent is kinda dangerous, it's a cool idea though. i mean pretty awesome actually.

  • the two things that would bother me about this is charging time and sound.

how long does it take to charge the battery fully? because if I have to charge it for 12 hours just to ride it for like... a couple hours... then its not really worth it IN THE LONG RUN.

secondly, there won't be any sound when the bike is peeling around corners or gunning it in-between traffic lights... so what's the point of riding fast and looking cool when all you hear is humming between your legs?
