I see the benefits: Strapping a Silky to your leg means less danger of your handsaw catching whilst moving around the tree and also you look like some kind of pro-climber. However explain me this. How would a lanyard fit into this equasion? My groundie would NEVER have someone climbing above him with unsecured tools (least of all a Zubat with a new blade) and I wouldn't expect him to. Also what about cut&holds without a leash? It don't make no sense y'all.
Thanks for your comments. Nothing stopping someone using a lanyard along with the sawpod. Personally I think using a lanyard is dangerous, theres a good chance of it being snagged without you realizing it, next thing you know the saw is twanged back in your face.....but thats just my preference.
I'm sure your groundsman is a good guy, but its probably aswell he doesnt work with me by the sounds of it :)
nice climbing steve! very smooth, no wasted movements, good positioning. Gavin did a great job filming, so many yuotube videos are all over the place, the camera jerking this way and that; this was a refreshing change. Also thanks for posting the flipline and chainsaw tests.
