It would have been funny if the Sniper Joe you where not going to acknowledge jumped on top of you with spikes on the feets right when you where about to enter Heatman's room. Cuz' it looks like it could have done it :P
I don't think it's the layout of the Yoku Blocks that makes that stretch in Heat Man's Stage so annoying. I think it's the pace that they appear, know what I mean? Like, in most Mega Man games the Yoku Blocks go at the same pace when they appear and disappear. Whereas in that stretch in Heat Man's Stage they sometimes appear faster than you would expect.
I just realised. His box means he is a lighter. DUH why didnt i think of this before? An old lighter is like that, and he is heat man. HOW DID I BE SO STUPID?
Well, Mr. Mythril, I think you've rubbed off on me. I was playing Mega Man X6 a couple moments ago and I kept on yelling things like "You pest!" and "Aww, BUGGER!" when I got hit by an annoying enemy.
Normal is an easier mode of the game that was introduced for the US game. Thus, I refer to Normal as easy mode. As for two charged shots, I'm just going by what I've heard.
@RoahmMythril There actually is a mode called easy now. Megaman 2 has been released for the iPhone and iPod touch. Aside from normal and difficult, there's an easy mode (mostly because of the fact that all the buttons are on the touchscreen, which makes controlling Megaman a lot harder, I guess) and I'm pretty sure Woodman can be killed with one charged shot.
@RoahmMythril your right roahm, in Normal difficulty, Wood Man does die in one fully charged atomic fire shot. The first phase of Wily Machine 2 also dies in one fully charged atomic fire shot as well
@RoahmMythril ive begun to notice games gie you a gimmick depending a on difficulty a varying amount time to practisegetting bouns's and whatnot it then you get slaughtered by a deep difficuty dive as you put it into practise against the main gimmick of death stage.
...ran out of characters. Anyway, I really think disappearing blocks wouldn't be as bad anyway if Capcom didn't fail so terribly at making certain challenges, such as those, actually fun.
I actually don't think that second disappearing block section is as bad as it's made out to be. The only real problems are the blocks that appear directly above you, which I think are the 5th, 9th, and 24th in order of appearance. The timing on that last one is especially annoying..I've gotten that far unassisted, but I've still never been able to get past the entire section without savestates or the Item-2...
The block puzzle, at least over the fatal area, isn't too tough until you get to right near the end and the block appears right over your head...that's the reason I can't do it.
Hey, is that a remix of the song that played during the "Dance of Kyoto" stage in Samurai Warriors? I think it's Kyoto, could be Osaka...regardless, it's my favorite BGM in that game
For when you have to jump on the blocks that appear above you, do you just have to MEMORIZE where they appear and jump early? Because that would suck utterly O_o
I also thought Heat Man looked like a garbage can rather than a zippo. Well I was still pretty young when I first played this game and hadn't seen a zippo then, which is the reason probably.
I have a proposal for the Wily stage problem. Why don't you make them no damage runs and only use the non-buster weapons when they're required for puzzles but not to damage enemies?
This is actually what I did for the most part with the MM2 Wily stages, but it proves my point, it's just usually not very possible. I was forced to use a full charge of Atomic Fire to deal with a Returning Sniper Joe, due to the location it was in, the Buebeam trap required the Crash Bombs, and Wily's second form, I basically had to resort to a glitch because of bad hitbox programming on his shots. Really, the Wily stages just are not fun for me, so I generally don't do them.
It possibly could, but it's a bit riskier, given it doesn't move, and vanishes fairly quickly. You'd have to time it so you could use it as a breather, but it would stick around long enough for the block pattern to start coming through again.
......Wow, good point. It's been awhile since I've done the MM2 vids, I forgot all about that. I tend to forget which stages give utility items and such.
Neither stage strikes me as all THAT difficult. For me, the difference comes in fighting the boss. Heat Man is quite easy. Crystal Man on the other hand, he has a lot going on during his fight.
Heat Man's stage was the hardest for me. I remember watching a walkthrough for this and the person just used the item 2 thing. When I saw that I was just like, Yea I'm going to bed.
It would have been funny if the Sniper Joe you where not going to acknowledge jumped on top of you with spikes on the feets right when you where about to enter Heatman's room. Cuz' it looks like it could have done it :P

Heatman was easiest boss in MM2, even if that difficult to finish perfectly, but stage was very difficult.
AndriyFlooder 2 years ago
This is quite true. Heat Man is tedious, but quite easy. His stage though is tricky, mainly getting the hang of that block sequence.
