That's very nippy. Palm have worked hard to address the slowness of webOS since launch but there's still a lot of work to do. I won't be risking this overclock on my uninsured Pre :-)

I'd have to say that it's more of a calculated risk, especially since the OMAP processor natively runs at 800 Mhz (and Palm just underclocked it to 500).

@Djcuervo The new Pre is unlikely to have a 1ghz CPU. The battery life would be all of 4 hours, if that. However, can you imagine WebOS on an iPad-esque device? OMG! It would SMOKE the iPad! (I'd like to see it hacked onto a touchscreen tablet PC!)

If they were to increase the power of the next WebOS phone, what makes you think they wouldn't give it a better battery? Phones like the nexus one and the HD2 have plenty of battery life while running at 1GHz.
