Oh, you're wrong. One perfect example of a republican sellout represents my state of Pennsylvania. Sen. Arlen Specter is a traitor to the conservative movement. He voted for the stimulus because "If we don't do it, we're gonna die" (he forgot to mention how many earmarks he was taking).
My explanation may not be perfect but...An earmark is a little add on to a bill that the public isn't notified of or is included only in the fine print. Kinda like those little things in contracts with some businesses that say that everything that you make within the company or while with the company belongs to the company. Not that this is wrong, it's just something that your aren't really told about.
an earmark is actually a provision of money in a bill for projects in specific states...congressmen often fight for earmarks in certain bills so that their states receive more money, making their constituents happy...i.e. to earmark a bill is to allocate money for a certain state
