  • VERY NICE SONG: DIL NE PHIR YAAD KIYA:MOHD.RAFI, SUMAN KALYANPUR &MUKESH

    ILOVE YOU BABA KING (((999)))

  • I agree with Milahi 1935 best example is Ramaiya Vasta Vaiya. Listen to Rafi Saab's Add Lip and song which has been shoot on a side artist and Mukeshji's on Rajkapoor being Hero of the Movie. But Rafi Saab has done justice to the song given to him and very few singers can sing Add Lip with extra ordinary throw like Greatest Singer ever to come again.

  • Wah Rafi Saheb...

  • This is a unique combination....brilliant

  • Thanks a lot sir for resplendent and exquisite comment.

    with warm personal regards

  • Thanks a lot for your enchanting and precious comment.you are most welcome.

    Take care.

  • rafi sahab u r best singer in bollywood

  • Sorry I should have written Suman instead of Lata. Typing mistake.

  • Rafi has put so much emotion as well as range to make this ordinary tune a masterpiece. Lata has also done a great job. Mukesh has put in some emotion but the range is not as great. The duration of the song should have been longer and Rafi should have been asked to put in his favorite ending where he takes his voice up up and away.

  • The emotions expressed by the voice of Mukesh makes one feel that Rafi is at times pedestrian in emoting the feelings of the song.

  • @vinodreeta Rafi sahab was and is incomparable.

  • The emotions expressed by the voice Mukesh makes one feel that Rafi is at times pedestrian in emoting the feelings of the song.

  • Wah Rafi Saheb

Till my last breath I will listen your songs and remeber u from the core of heart.

Who says u are not with us u will always remain in our heats till we are alive and earth is there

  • Wah Rafi Saheb

Till my last breath I will listen your songs and remeber u from the core of heart.

  • bohat khoob rafi sahib. Allah aap ko zinda rakhe

  • kya achi Urdu bolrah hain ye loog bhohat khoob

  • in my humble opinion such great artists should not be compared...they all had their own style of singing...why compare? we are lucky to hear them...

  • This was the first movie of the mama bhanja duo of SONIK - OMI and what heavenly music they have rendered for this great movie.

Dharam paaji looks like he is the most handsome man in the world, which he was in those days. Rafi sahab, Sumanji and Mukesh sahab have excelled in this song.

Mere words are simply insufficient to praise this post. I wish to thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this lovely song.

  • I was trying to post this comment before but it was not getting accepted after I tried to remove some typos...anyways!

K.L.Saigal was really a great singer who was admired by all in the Hindustani Classical music world and the filmy one..we know he was imitated by male singers like Mukesh da and Kishore Kumar...Lata Mangeshkar thinks he's the greatest of them all..he was a genius.

  • Several interviews of these great artists with the question who they thought was the greatest amongst them would be hard to find as the media could not get them always in those days. But certainly there was no bad mouthing and whenever they had a chance to speak about their colleagues they had nice things to say or remember. They appreciated each other and that should be the guiding light for us.

  • All of the singers such as Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh, Manna-Dey were true greats and had a lot of respect for each other, and should not be compared. However, Manna-Dey, Kishore, & Mukesh have all mentioned in several interviews that they all considered Rafi Sahab to be greatest of them all. That should tell you something.

  • Friends,an example of how these great singers admire(d) each other is evident by the tribute paid by Manna Dey to Kishore Kumar whose 80th birthday is today.God bless them all !

  • I quite admire when one praise the treasures in songs and remembers them.

  • yeah, guys, quit with the comparions. If you want to compare then compare against your own abilities. I am sure that most of lawyers here can't sing squat !!

  • Agree 100 % it is not fair to compare such great singers , they have all their own uniqeness and singing qaualities and flawless in their own styles. The are all schools of singing and I learn from them every day new things.

  • Mukesh may not be off-key but he does go flat. His blemishes get covered because of his excellent bass. Rafi is fluid and in absolute control of every note in this song. He sets the tone of the song. The song would not be the same had Suman or Mukesh started it.

  • All that I wish to add is that Rafi Sahib was a trained classical singer whereas Mukesh da,Kishore Kumar were natural ,untrained singers. They were all 'pearls'- and we all know the difference between natural and cultured pearls!.:) Hope I shall not be taken amiss by any! I personally love all these singers even though Mukesh da is my relative!

  • @namitamathur61 - you must have had opportunities to listen to Mukesh live. Unfortunately for us non relatives we could only listen to that recorded on records/CDs where verses have been slashed to fit into the time limits.

  • @studer3500 I did meet him..my family esp my father had many opportunities to hear him live &stay with him.In fact my father also sang his songs in front of him while Mukesh da played the harmonium and offered a lot of praise to him.Yes records are 'limiting'...another thing singers tend to forget the original(unless they rehearse for a show) when asked to sing suddenly esp at family meets...a lot of 'variations' creep in! He was a truly great and noble soul...God Bless him wherever he is..

  • great combination of rafi, mukesh and suman kalyanpur

  • Got to read comments by all here.Rafi,Kishore Kumar,Mukesh da were all great singers and one thing I can say they respected each other a lot...we are belittling their mutual respect and admiration for each other by comparing them and saying one was better than the other.. bet their souls are hurt...may they rest in peace wherever they are...they all have left us a great legacy to enjoy and cherish.Voting is no yardstick as we all know how 'loaded'/unbalanced it is.

  • gps786...don't say such things...it is a sin!!

No one in india is qualified enough to comment upon the greatest singers like Mukesh, Rafi Kishore, Lata and Asha..

  • Top notch. Many thanks.

  • Mukesh was Gods gift to hindi film music. Rafi had an overwhelming presence due to his wide range because he gave his voice from Dilip Kumar to Shammi Kapoor but Mukesh's contribution to enhance the hindi film music cannot be ignored. Till date Mukesh's 'mera joota hai japani..' is rated as the 'most hit' song of all the times. One will agree that he had his limitations but he has given some 'immortal gems' which one still yearns to listen and the list of those songs by Mukesh is endless.

  • Its Rafi saab actually and mukesh may have had his one hit song but Rafi saab has been voted singer of the millenium nearly 30 yrs after his death n tht says it all!!!!!!!

btw i cant find any proof anywhere to back up ur ridiculous claim abt the song 'jhoot hai japani'!!!!!!

thts a load of utter nonsense!!!

  • guys, please stop fighting and emjoy the music!

  • Mukeshji's Golden voice makes this song better. Mukesh was Master of Emotional Songs.

  • rubbish!!

  • I remember I used to see this song during my childhood days on chitrahaar and like it a lot. A beautiful song that brought memories of those golden old day. thanks.

  • Beautiful song and well sung by all three except at 6:26 to 6:27, Mukesh gets off the tune.

  • he always did

  • I beg to differ.Unfortunately in his later years he was forced to sing songs in which he strained but he did not get offnote.

  • ok. i appreciate your observation.

  • Thanx!I tried to post my reply to gps786 too but it did not go thru.I am trained in Hindustani Classical music and got a distinction in my practical exam of Prayag Sangeet Samiti and can pick up all faults by singers in SaReGaMaPa that are picked up in bits and pieces by all judges! Isliye himmat ki refute karne ki! Mukesh da 's my relative but I heard that piece very carefully and the family's always ready to criticize!-he did not go offnote..he sang the toughest notes in the song though.

  • thank you for informing me.

  • You are welcome! Wonder if you have noticed most great singers go off note in live performances-have seen Alka Yagnik,Kavita Krishnamurthy,Shankar Mahadevan, Rehman,Kumar Sanu and Sunidhi Chauhan go off...but I really admire Lata ji and Jagjit Singh ji acknowledge publicly.Rehman I think could not hear his track. Lata ji had high fever -was Bal Thackeray's show.Mukesh da sang very well in a particular scale-had never learnt music! Later communal politics forced him to do songs beyond his reach.

  • he did not! The tune was probably simplified for him since he was not as classically trained as Rafi. But this was not off-tune.

I am a big fan of Rafi-saab but I have to admit that in this song, Mukesh was better in terms of expression. Seedha dil ko chhoon gaya. My pesonal opinion - others don't have to agree.
