Nakamura is half Japanese/half white, if I'm not mistaken. But wholly American, which is why he represents the US. People say he shouldn't represent this country but I think that notion is horseshit.
Lol That was probably not a beer and if it was he was breaking the law right out in the open because he was born in 1987 and was only 20 years old at the time of this tournament.
not allowed to drink alcohol? where'd you hear that? America has a higher drinking age than most countries, but you can drink to your heart's desire if you're over 21.
even if I were as good as Kasparov...... I would lose cuz I'm gonna be so scared and shit myself! look at his confidence! he's drinking a beer on a chess tournament!

Anyone remember the days when you actually had to be a very strong world class player ala Tal, Fischer, etc. to be awarded the GM title? Now they pretty much hand it out to any 2200 putz that can fog a mirror and punch a clock.
Actually, back in the 1970s there were about 100 Grandmasters in the world (there are over 1000 today), so basically it's reasonable to consider a top 100 player to be a legitimate GM, like Nakamura who is now top 30. Also, I assume you know that they hand out GM titles to 2500 putz, not 2200 putz.
I thought I read somewhere SuSan Polgar won the US Open Blitz championship in 2003, 2005 and 2006 ( She did not play in 2004) Dan Yeager won it in 2007 if I am correct. I thought Nakamura is the top Blitz player in USA. Did he ever win US open Blitz Championship any year?
Blitz 5 minutes time is fast enough to give you a few seconds to think per move. Bullet chess (1 minute) is just a BS chess. There is no point to it as far as chess is concern its just fast wood pushing. Its fun to watch but that's all.
You people almost always claimed Nakamura is one of the top or the top Blitz player in the world not just USA.And yet I don't see his name in the previous world blitz championship one in Israel won by Grishuk and second was Svidler and the world Blitz championship held in Moscow on Nov 2007. With top players in the world participating and no Nakamura? Maybe he is the top blitz players or one of the top in USA only!
Nakamura is one of the top blitz players on ICC (the Internet Chess Club) - but there are plenty of other players on there around the same level in blitz. Bullet is another matter. In 1-minute games he is currently 230 points higher-rated than Grischuk. It would be interesting to see how he fared in a bullet match with a top player - he may well win, and I certainly don't think he'd come off too badly.
intimidation and psychology are hugely important factors in chess. I'm sure many Grandmasters get many games handed to them because their opponents are scared shitless. Of course I'm sure even if the opponent isn't scared the GM is going to win most of the time.
wow! i was looking up blitz games and then saw dan yeager who is one of my good chess friends, haha i never new he played naka in blitz games, this is totally unrelated but i was happy =P
First of all, its spelt: Hikaru Nakamura. Second of all, Chess is up for grabs right now, russia no longer has control...china has a lot of young rising stars and so does america...
Uhhh ... yeah, but at the absolute top, its Ukraine, Bulgaria and *maybe* India that are really threatening Russian domination of chess. The Chinese have some talent, but not on the same kind of performance curves as Volotkin, Karjakin, Cheparinov or Harikrishna (not to ignore Ponomariov, Ivanchuck and Anand, of course.)
Im telling you his behavior is not proper. Have you seen the match between him and akobian? Hes pretty rude. This game wasnt so bad but Nakamura is very arrogant. Its ok though. I dont think he will be able to be World Champ ever.
I don't understand these gripes against Nakamura. He's drinking water? He looked away? How petty can you get? Nakamura even looks away from the board when it's his move. Why is that a terrible thing?
He Just won at Casino de Barcelona and then entered Corsica Masters Rapid Tournament and defeated last years champion Kasimjanov to win. Care to retract your statement?
for all u ppl who are thinking im over reacting, and i know ur out there, save ur comment cuz im not, im just making a point...
people are so ignorant, just because hes asian u assume hes chinese, total bullshit, im willing to bet that u are not asian and had no logical reason for picking chinese rather than korean or japanese, besides his name is NAKAMURA, u cannot, simply CANNOT get more japanese, "nakamura" to japanese people is like "chan" to chinese people and "gonzales" to hispanic people
Mine was a reply to 'chessdrummer' who said: "European chess is fading. China and India will soon rule." I never once said Nakamura was Chinese. So STFU and admit you were wrong.
WTF, why dont u take a step down form ur pedestal and look at ur original comment from a non-bias point of view... ur commenting on a vid of a japanese guy and u dont bother to make things clear in ur comments and its not just me who took ur comment that way, read some other ones... ur comment was horribly written so dont go blaming ppl for misunderstanding it when it was ur mistake to begin with... look at artinarts comment, he obviously thought u were referring to nakamura as chinese as well..
Excuse yourself. It was a REPLY to someone elses comment. Usually replies go underneath the original comment. Sometimes Youtube's reply system doesn't work properly and it's posted as a stand-alone comment. It's not my fault that there was a technical error. If the comment was posted where it should have been, there wouldn't have been any misunderstanding. Goodbye.
So fucking true. The world will go from sucking American cock to sucking Chinese cock in several years. And no, I'm not saying Nakamura is Chinese, you fucking idiots.

If you think that is not proper, believe me when I tell you there are far worse things players face in the tournament halls.
People will intimidate, blow smoke, listen to music, etc. lol
