  • i wish this was in Bb

  • just broke a string!

  • quality my man. thanks.

  • where do I get that hendrix poster/art

  • need a longer version!!

  • I just beat up my fucking guitar to this track... I think she liked it though!

God Bless the following: Blues Pentatonic scale, Whammy bars, Unison bends, Overdriven Harmonics and lets see, what else... Dorian mode, interwoven melodies using key sigs from outerspace, and for just generally otherwise abusing notes left and right. Major thumbs+++ for picking my favorite Jimi song for this blues playground of sorts. I'll be sure to come back when the mood strikes again. Thanks

  • sweet!!!!

  • Thanks, for all of your work. I've managed to keep myself out of trouble , because of these backing tracks. haha!

  • This sounds so good on a B major pentatonic, play in BB king box

  • great

  • great to jamming thanks !

  • Thanks for this, love playing along to it. Wait a minute somthin wrong here...

  • @dodel1---haha, every guitar player with 'have' a brain? nice

  • @philkapune I'm sorry, this is what every guitar player with have a brain does, stop making Hendrix sound like a god.

  • The "electric church" version of red house, as heard on the blues album and at Stockholm, were both played in A, as heard here. However the guitar was tuned down a whole step, and in that case played in the key of B

  • where did you get that picture in the background!! its awesome :)

  • It's the long road, but at the end you get the best results... Then you can get the music out of your head...

  • Live and when using a Gibson, Hendrix often played this in B so he could use the extra frets on a Gibson.

  • thanks i get the pic

  • great so what do u recommend to get the style doen t look shity

  • HENDRIX PLAYED OF HIS STUFF IN E MINOR

  • Eb mind you

  • thanks!

  • How do I get this as an MP3? Wonderful, by the way - anything more "Claptonesque" from the '60s in your bag 'o tricks?

  • If you wanted you could use audacity (its a free recording program) and record the song itself.. Then get the LAME MP3 encoder and use that. Thats what I do

  • Could you explain a little how you go about this?

Ive got audacity but what is LAME MP3 and what do you do with it?

  • @oldportboy Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to reply to you, my old computer burnt up haha.. But anyway the LAME MP3 encoder takes the audio files that you record with Audacity and converts them into a .mp3 file which is usable by nearly every music playback software (iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc.) You can find the encoder on audacity's website, if you have any problems trying to use it just send me another message on here

  • How do you create a backing track?

  • In my opinion and experience, you simply play it/ record it again. Hence the key of A this version offers

  • have you learned nothing from hendrix? you can play anything in any key you want. there's no rules fellas

  • yes but it will sound like shit if you have no idea of how notes work together.

  • in 'anything' i meant song wise guys. it's kinda obvious you need to know some scales.

  • @sunflashnathan

It is YOU who has much to learn. Playing "anything" is just plain sloppy... Aiming for a specific feel requires that you pay attention to specific keys, rhythms, modulations, articulation and so on.

  • @whatshendrix You don't understand. Anybody can play any song in any key they want. This is just common sense. That is all I meant. Nothing more. And if you want to aim for a "specific feel" with your specific keys, rhythms, modulations, articulation then you might as well be a juke box. And there aint nothing wrong with that. You just aint real. I suggest you watch Son House performing Death Letter Blues. It's on my favorite list on my channel. Maybe you'll learn something.

  • @sunflashnathan

You just said that Jimi Hendrix is a fucking jukebox... You just don't know it because you lack ear training and you don't even have a basic grasp on these topics. Keys are NOT picked at random - every key sounds and feels different. Realizing those differences helps you bring out your emotions/message more powerfully, it does NOT turn you into a jukebox.

Educate yourself, get some experience and maybe in ten years you'd have the prerequisite to hold this type of conversation.

  • @whatshendrix once again, you completely misunderstood everything I just said. I'm telling you that if you want to express some emotion through your music, forget every god damn thing and just let it come out of you. I mean sure, if you want to sound like everything you hear from the radio, go for it. But it aint real, my friend. I'm trying to help you out, don't get so pissed. Look at Hendrix in the picture in the video! That just speaks for itself. No rules. No mercy.

  • @sunflashnathan

Your lack of cognitive abilities renders me speechless...

  • @whatshendrix LOL cry my a river. I'm free. Your trapped. it's chill. I tried helping you. I'm sure your ignorance has taken you far =]

  • @sunflashnathan

    Arrogant prick...

  • @sunflashnathan one thing hendrix had was originalty you dont get that from sticking to thew book! I agree because sometimes you stuff up play the wrong note and it turns out it sounded better.... to me music is just feeling I never think just smoke some weed and open the sole the rest comes naturally...

  • What?

    this is in A

interesting i usually play in either b or c but never tried in a

  • i cant seem to find a free download for chris impellitteri (RACE INTO THE LIGHT)if you can post can post a vid of it would much appreciated + i will be posted a vid of me playing that song the minute i get a backing track for it \m/_

  • yea, it's just a 1-4-5 typical 16 bar blues pattern with the intro/outro for something like Red House. The bass pattern is nothing like the original, either.

You can find some nice backing tracks from the Guitar Center "King of the Blues" link.

  • thanks

    very good looking for more

  • I love this in A. I wonder why Jimi did it in Bb?

  • he played it in b, but tuned down a half step.

  • Prefer Noel Reddings version w/ blues chords on bass. This is a very safe & unimaginative version. Organ sounds cool & nice mix though. Keep it up!

  • Noel used a guitar on that. No bass.

  • What is the 1 string theory?

  • Im not exactly sure but i assume its using one string to improvise, using the different modes of a scale

  • The ability to play every scale and improvise masterpiece guitar solos on 1 string for all six strings.

  • "Theres a red house over yander......"

    cool, thanks

  • Its in Bb

  • No dude its in A what are you talking about lol

  • um

jimi plays it on the 7th fret E string which is B but since he tunes half a step down so in fact it would be in the key of Bb minor

  • Look bro, I don't take music classes and I'm not even much of a technical expert...all I can do is play the guitar, and I'm telling you, play that shit on the 5th fret of standard tuning and wa-di-da, it sounds fucking awesome. Give it a go, get back to me...peace

  • sorry the backing track is in A but the original is Bb

  • No hard feelings

  • this version is in A the chords are A,D and E. use Am pentatonic and it will sound mint.

  • how am I going to get anything done now that I've found this, thank you.

  • It's in A

  • BTW, if it's not in B or Bb, no worries, I'll just transpose it to my key of choice using wav lab.

  • I like it. I added it to my iPod under my playlist "GuitarPractice". Thanks for providing.

  • yeah but in this video it aint in that key trust me its in A minor geez

  • i quess you could play it in a, still sounds good in

    Bb though,

  • its in A minor lol not Bb minor wat are u chattin about, the key of this with a guitar with standard tunin is Am lmao

  • no its a#/Bb

well thats how jimi played it

  • yeah i used a B flat pentatonic scale it worked good.

  • was your guitar a semitone sharp?

  • Yeah the original, or the way jimi played it was B flat but I play it in B.

  • it would be real cool if the chords could be somehow shown on the screen especially for us begginners.Like an interactive tab. this is awesome thankyou much

  • thanks for the track

  • yeah the key is most def. b flat minor/ d flat major. i think this sounds pretty damn good and its an awesome reference to the song if you wanna play around it. maybe laladow whatever the hell his name is can make a better track but for now ill assume he's just a tool

  • thankyou for this, this is amazing keep it up

  • This is sweet, good work.

  • yeah its cool! actually the song is supposed to be in B flat, cuz jimi played it in b tuned down a half step. still fun to jam in a though!

  • Awesome man!!! Bold As Love would kick ass if you could do it.

  • If you tune your guitar normally it's c# minor or a major notes.

  • Why is in D? Every backing track for this song is in either D or E but it's meant to be in Eb

  • its an A not D

  • right you are

  • This sounds so good. Its cool to play the intro without a guitar in the recording. Feels like actually playing it with a band

  • can you make a backing track for "Bold As Love" and "One Rainy Wish"? Thank you.

  • Good job man. Likin' em.

  • its in the key of A. two steps lower then jimi would play it, but A is more of a standard blues backing.

  • yeah but isnt the original recording tuned a whole step down?

  • Yeah but this is not the original recording and you are not Jimi Hendrix. Sorry.

  • Its not meant to be the original recording, that why its a backing track. Secondly, who said he was jimi hendrix anyway?

  • what key is this in?

  • great,thanks !

  • thanks a lot man!!!!!!

  • you're welcome...

  • you're doing a good job man!

  • thank you! i'll post more and more blues backing tracks!

  • god damn man, keep posting as many backing tracks as u can, fukn great for playing. Thanks soooo much
