@GuitarCrazy12100 That depends on your age. The steel shafted woods are much heavier than graphite. As far as golf is concerned, it's better to keep up with technology than to go back to persimmon woods so-to-speak. Graphite woods and steel shaft irons I think is the way to go. Just my opinion.

I think it was when he went to Nike? It was his Titliest days that were steel on his woods, and when he bombed the ball.

Not really. In irons? Yes, of course. In woods? Not so much. Yes, they would be more accurate with still shafted woods, but they would sacrifice a good bit of distance. Btw, when this was recorded, Tiger was using a Diamana Whiteboard in his Driver, and a Diamana Whiteboard in his 3 wood. Those shafts have now changed to Graphite Design Tour AD-DI.

@bunkerputt Its easier to hit a stinger or low shot right to left for any good player. When hitting this shot, the ball is either at the back of the stance, promoting a draw. OR the left wrist is bowed earlier in the downswing, closing the clubface.

Now, I am not at all trying to sound like I know everything...because I certainly don't, but the biggest factor to having the ball shot off low like that is playing the ball way back in your stance. If you notice, 75 percent of tigers shots are played back in his stance, this is why his tragectories always look so impressive. You have to be super strong to do this, but with some pratice, you can achieve this. Any video of tiger, watch where he puts the ball, almost always back or way back.

@InherentlyCorrect I've seen him hit some towering shots. In fact, for many years, he had quite possible the most rising ball flight of any golfer. He would get 3 irons to land like PW's..... Sure, for a shot like this you may be right. What makes this guy incredible is that he can move the ball anywhere in his stance to fit a particular shot. I imagine, once everything settles down (his swing, his life, etc), he will go back to working his trajectories for each and every shot he attempts.

@InherentlyCorrect its from the 103 gram xstiff blue board shaft with 13 degree head i believe that keeps the stinger down. he just swings easy and ball stays down most of the trajectory, if an amateur tried to hit his club it would be a low block about 190 yards instead of 260 yards.
