  • 2:12 man thats a tasty bend!

  • All that tone with just fingers! No pick from what my eye can see

  • At the end it looks like the tune Out in the Woods, from the album Skin Deep

  • Wow even his noodling is full of soul! forever buddy!

  • if your not playing with some one then your playing against them and if your playing against them it sounds like shit and besides not to many people are as acomplished like jeff beck besides i know buddy guy him beck and clapton are all great friends so all of you need to shut the fuck up and enjoy there music besides it sounds like none of you play any ways

  • Crap.

  • He makes it look so easy...

  • 3 deaf people watched this video (

  • FEELING

  • The LEGEND himself !!!

  • Comment removed

  • he doesn't need them

  • why buddy guy ain't play with drums in the background?

  • saw him 3 days ago...WOW..the mans a master. he really hyped the crowd. keep it up buddy

  • What do you say? except - he's a master.

  • Oh si vous êtes sensationnels, Buddy !

  • Buddy is always adventurous and exciting to listen to

  • simply the best

  • Freddy king was also a huge influence on Clapton and in my opinion, he was a much better player than Guy is....its just a matter of opinion of coarse !

  • with that name it was sure he will be a guitarist

  • he brought up his volume and because it was so loud it caused the recording to be distorted......thats wha happened at the end

  • can somebody please tell me what he did at the end to kick up distortion? was it some kind of mid boost or something did he turn up his guitar volume?

  • Just to remind everyone music is NOT a competition or or some kind of race to be the best, just listen and enjoy thats all

  • WITHOUT BUDDY GUY, MUDDY WATERS, AND ROBERT JOHNSON, ERIC CLAPTON , JEFF BECK, AND EVERY OTHER BRITISH GUITAR PLAYER WOULDN'T BE SHIT........

  • @TheMrconcreteman

without jeff beck, clapton, jimmy paige, the guitar players of today wouldn't be shit !:)

  • @piemeljan GRANTED, BUT "BUDDY GUY" IS ONE OF THE MAIN INFLUENCES FROM ALL THOSE PLAYERS YOU JUST MENTIONED........

  • @piemeljan There are guitar players of today? Lolz Not to sure on that even though I'm sure there are some pretty good guys out there but nothing worth praise of any sort. I personally am a huge fan of Jack White but I realize objectively that his skill level isn't quite as legendary as others have shown in the past. I don't think the guitar hero character exists in music anymore these days. Just my thought

  • @111WWEEBB his skill isn't what makes him great (partly). imo

  • @TheSatanas666

Come on man, no need to put down other to praise RJ, RJ is one of my fav's also, but this is the blues, it's about paying tribute to the music, it's not a competition, it's a respect, which to me puts them in a different class than all this rap, pop, and rock shit of thinking you're the greatest

  • @TheMrconcreteman Robert Johnson, really? what type of shit have you been smokin', i want some too

  • @TheMrconcreteman You don't know shit about music. Robert Johnson lived and died before Buddy was even alive you stupid fuckin retard.

  • @capitalismforme oh what irony you calling him a retard, you might what to check your dates again guy

  • @TheMrconcreteman your fucking loing all the british people now arent you

  • @MaxwellsAttourney how do YOU play it...?

  • @MaxwellsAttourney I gotta agree with you there man. I know he was an innovator etc etc, but that doesnt mean that you "Have" to like him. People like joe bonamassa, gary moore, eric clapton would blow him into the weeds.

  • @bandslater Considering he was Claptons mentor (pretty much) and also had a hand in most other British rock that started most of todays rock, how could anyone think that they would "blow him away" musically? I would agree that you don't "have" to like him, but you still have to recognize his contributions to both blues AND rock genres.

  • @BrianMDowns Clapton called him "The Best Guitarist in the world"check that quote

  • damn he blues! ;)

  • a few years ago i saw Mr.Guy at Legends in Chicago..he was kind enough to autograph my strat...he did not have his guitar on stage when he sat in for a tune and asked the guitarist in the band performing there that night if he could use one of his..the young man said

"Mr.Guy..you can use ANYONE you want"!

you idiots talkin smack are just that ...idiots! the man is a blues legend. you idiots more n likely don't play anything but your computers keyboard ... peace

  • he's just winging this whole thing. none of that is rehearsed in any way. dumbasses.

  • @MaxwellsAttourney you literally troll on all of buddy guy's vids. get the fuck out of here.

  • He looks like such a nice person.

  • he has HUGE hands...

  • @rhythmpigeon Yes Lord ... mmmmhum

  • One of the Masters. If you don't know that, well.......

  • Lots of duff notes. Plus he is over picking the thing, it hasnt got enough actions for that!

  • @zzebowa Hes basically soloing with his thumb on an electric like that its actually quite difficult?!

  • @zzebowa you do realise you're slagging off the playing of one of the blues' defining guitarists?

develop a sense of intelligence before posting please :)

  • @zzebowa Lol you retard he'll rape you at guitar anyday

  • @wootoodoo Yeah? . Piece of cake!

  • @zzebowa yea right, like you have the authority to critiqe Buddy Guy...Get a life man.

  • god you sho got the blues, hats off to you sir

  • Grandissimo!!!!

  • The Best Guitarist Ever!

  • Bridgewater hall, Manchester England 4th July.

    Can't fucking wait!!! :-)

  • no one loves playing guitar more than this guy!

  • lord but you are good. I would love tohear you in person

  • Saw him last year and he had an amazing show. I loved his stories between his peformances.

  • Profound. Magisterial.

  • Cant say enough good things about Buddy..he brings a smile to everyone

  • Age really don't matter! What your ears tell you does! Listen closely, hear it for the first time!! Yes that's right....it's soul!! Buddy's got it you can too!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"

  • The master. Been a fan of BG since '68 on those records with Junior Wells. Treasures.

  • what a sweet bent at 0:44

  • @william1theguitarwah what about 2:12? ;)

  • @william1theguitarwah Yeah I thought that.

  • I don't personally know a lot about necks, because the one on my guitar isn't the most comfortable, but I know that ones on gibson explorers are really comfortable, and ibanez necks are usually pretty comfortable too. Never tried a strat neck though, just trying to help

  • That enough?

  • @fenderstrato68

This would make a lot more sense if you wouldn't be a cracker. :D

  • I met Buddy Guy recently--he is not as tall as i thought--im 5 foot 11 and he must be 5 foot 9 or so--i thought he was over 6 foot--not the case! what a legend he is!!

  • fantastic

  • muy loco!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the guitar looks like it has a very small neck? does it?

  • i actually own the buddy guy strat, the mexican version, it doesnt have small neck, in fact it has a V shape profile and a 9.25" radius I believe so its one of fender's larger size's--hope that helps

  • What's the difference between a V shape and a C shape physically? Which one is thinner, the V Shape? Because I notice a lot of blues players like that shape, could be something.

  • The C shape would generally be smaller, I believe they also tend to have a smaller radius than say the V shape. Down towards the nut, the C shape would feel much smaller than the V shape.

I don't know if it is due to the V shape, or the 9.25" radius, but it is a fairly wide/thick strat neck. It is very similar to say, a 50s strat. The C shape neck you can find on the 60s strat (mexican or american models should be about the same size)

  • I also forgot to mention, I chose this guitar/neck because I like the fact it has jumbo frets, where most strats tend to have thinner ones. I'm actually more of a les paul player. There are times where I did wish the neck was a smaller C shape with jumbo frets.

Best thing would be to try and play one, see how your thumb likes to slide around on a V shape or a C.

  • Thanks, exactly what I asked for. Sounds like I would like the C shape. I was just wondering because there really are no pictures giving an example of either. Or is it just when feeling the neck? Also, you can refret your guitar, but it would probably be expensive, but I'm sure you probably already considered that an option. I like Explorer-type necks myself. Feels very fast.

  • it is much easier to use your thumb over the neck, i have on & it's awesome

  • ti's because he's a BIG fellow!! thats why regular strat looks small to him..

  • Guy previously served on the Hall of Fames nominating committee. Guy has won five Grammy Awards both for his work on his electric and acoustic guitars, and for contemporary and traditional forms of blues music. By 2004

  • The legend. Thanks for share.

  • Buddy Guy had also earned 23 W.C. Handy Awards (more than any other artist has received), Billboard magazine's The Century Award (Guy was its second recipient) for distinguished artistic achievement, the title of Greatest Living Electric Blues Guitarist, and the National Medal of Arts (awarded by the President to those who have made extraordinary contributions to the creation, growth and support in the arts in the United States).

  • i have that guitar!!

  • I wish to have the skill more than I wish to have the guitar,

  • @ctyuang its soulbound :) cant have one without the other :) just keep it simple, pure, and from within :) rest is just pieces of your soul making something with your own charm in it :) peace

  • @ctyuang Well, the guitar looks like crap. :)

  • how does the guitar play? like is it worth to purchase.

  • there not bad, really good for the price. dont have one but ive playd a fiew diforent ones.

  • It doesn't play, you have to do it.

EVH says he sounds like EVH on a

    WalMart $30 guitar.

    He's right.

  • me too

  • Elle est très moche.

    Mais le son est dingue.

  • that man has some big freakin hands

  • Is that enough! lol

  • Seen him last night, expected him to be a little slower since his age, but wow, I was wrong!!!!

He lit that place up, both with his playing, and his stage presence & charm!!!! Great show Buddy & hope to see you again!!!

  • buddy's age is proportional to his awesomeness. well, actually it isnt, he was just maximum coolness since he picked up the guitar.

  • @miller434 That was an amazing show!! best performance i have ever seen

  • Buddy Guy played with Muddy Waters and was Hendrix´s favourite guitar player ... so just imagine

  • Lots of guys were Hendrix's favorite guitar player. Billy Gibbons, Hubert Sumlin, etc.

  • Buddy knows exactly what he's doing. He's been playing guitar since before your parents were born.

  • i think you should keep playing at least 20 years before express something on buddy guy's playing...

    thats just my opinion

  • Actually i saw this guitar in fender's website and it costs 1000$.Great guitar and very well priced.

  • lol thats the ehm, issue, re-issue made affordable for the big crowd. Its much more expensive, believe me xD

  • if i'd ever buy a strat it would be this one or the jimi hendrix sig guitar

  • Hell naw that's not enough!

  • I could listen ta Buddys doodlin all day man

  • i once slept in the room next to buddys in a hotel and over heard a conversation with his band at breakfast.

i was too young to apreciate buddy though. now i see it as a bloody awsome experiance

  • when was that?

  • i dont know but i think i was about 9 and so it would have been 5 years ago i think

  • you're are fucking luckyyyy xD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Buddy has got me listening, listen @ 45 seconds sweet.

  • He can play how ever Mr Buddy Guy to you sir feels like playing. I've never seen anyone bend the strings like Buddy Guy.That is how Hendrix developed his style, because of Mr.Guy! Your awesome Buddy.

  • Oh please! Not that good? You are sitting down and watching one of the blues masters noodle. How often do you get to that?

  • the real blues guitar player!

  • fucking twang

  • why red thumbs?

  • 不错!!!!!

  • You gotta love those polka dots. A true God of the blues. Its not what you play...its how you play it.

  • Loved Randy Rhoads polka dot Flying V too. Randy and Buddy are both top of the line in their own genre.

  • you know... this isn't that good. he's really a lot better than this video would lead you to believe

  • of course its not. when i just sit down any play licks it doesn't sound nearly as good opposed to playing to something. that should go for every guitarist

  • It starts off a bit rough but it builds up well. I mean the melody he develops between 1:50 - 2:10 is just inspired.

  • Simply put: The Master.

  • thats w/o a pick entlman

  • foreal.

    sick

  • Buddy is the man!

  • thanks for the lesson in watching you!

    Bless you Buddy, you RULE!
