if your not playing with some one then your playing against them and if your playing against them it sounds like shit and besides not to many people are as acomplished like jeff beck besides i know buddy guy him beck and clapton are all great friends so all of you need to shut the fuck up and enjoy there music besides it sounds like none of you play any ways
Freddy king was also a huge influence on Clapton and in my opinion, he was a much better player than Guy is....its just a matter of opinion of coarse !
can somebody please tell me what he did at the end to kick up distortion? was it some kind of mid boost or something did he turn up his guitar volume?
@piemeljan There are guitar players of today? Lolz Not to sure on that even though I'm sure there are some pretty good guys out there but nothing worth praise of any sort. I personally am a huge fan of Jack White but I realize objectively that his skill level isn't quite as legendary as others have shown in the past. I don't think the guitar hero character exists in music anymore these days. Just my thought
Come on man, no need to put down other to praise RJ, RJ is one of my fav's also, but this is the blues, it's about paying tribute to the music, it's not a competition, it's a respect, which to me puts them in a different class than all this rap, pop, and rock shit of thinking you're the greatest
@MaxwellsAttourney I gotta agree with you there man. I know he was an innovator etc etc, but that doesnt mean that you "Have" to like him. People like joe bonamassa, gary moore, eric clapton would blow him into the weeds.
@bandslater Considering he was Claptons mentor (pretty much) and also had a hand in most other British rock that started most of todays rock, how could anyone think that they would "blow him away" musically? I would agree that you don't "have" to like him, but you still have to recognize his contributions to both blues AND rock genres.
a few years ago i saw Mr.Guy at Legends in Chicago..he was kind enough to autograph my strat...he did not have his guitar on stage when he sat in for a tune and asked the guitarist in the band performing there that night if he could use one of his..the young man said
"Mr.Guy..you can use ANYONE you want"!
you idiots talkin smack are just that ...idiots! the man is a blues legend. you idiots more n likely don't play anything but your computers keyboard ... peace
Age really don't matter! What your ears tell you does! Listen closely, hear it for the first time!! Yes that's right....it's soul!! Buddy's got it you can too!! Joey Vaughan "World Blues Attack"
I don't personally know a lot about necks, because the one on my guitar isn't the most comfortable, but I know that ones on gibson explorers are really comfortable, and ibanez necks are usually pretty comfortable too. Never tried a strat neck though, just trying to help
seamos objetivos, es muy 'sucio' tocando la viola, pareciera que esta aprendiendo..., sera una "leyenda" pero con la viola no es bueno gente! no nos engañemos
I met Buddy Guy recently--he is not as tall as i thought--im 5 foot 11 and he must be 5 foot 9 or so--i thought he was over 6 foot--not the case! what a legend he is!!
i actually own the buddy guy strat, the mexican version, it doesnt have small neck, in fact it has a V shape profile and a 9.25" radius I believe so its one of fender's larger size's--hope that helps
What's the difference between a V shape and a C shape physically? Which one is thinner, the V Shape? Because I notice a lot of blues players like that shape, could be something.
The C shape would generally be smaller, I believe they also tend to have a smaller radius than say the V shape. Down towards the nut, the C shape would feel much smaller than the V shape.
I don't know if it is due to the V shape, or the 9.25" radius, but it is a fairly wide/thick strat neck. It is very similar to say, a 50s strat. The C shape neck you can find on the 60s strat (mexican or american models should be about the same size)
I also forgot to mention, I chose this guitar/neck because I like the fact it has jumbo frets, where most strats tend to have thinner ones. I'm actually more of a les paul player. There are times where I did wish the neck was a smaller C shape with jumbo frets.
Best thing would be to try and play one, see how your thumb likes to slide around on a V shape or a C.
Thanks, exactly what I asked for. Sounds like I would like the C shape. I was just wondering because there really are no pictures giving an example of either. Or is it just when feeling the neck? Also, you can refret your guitar, but it would probably be expensive, but I'm sure you probably already considered that an option. I like Explorer-type necks myself. Feels very fast.

He can play how ever Mr Buddy Guy to you sir feels like playing. I've never seen anyone bend the strings like Buddy Guy.That is how Hendrix developed his style, because of Mr.Guy! Your awesome Buddy.
of course its not. when i just sit down any play licks it doesn't sound nearly as good opposed to playing to something. that should go for every guitarist
