Favre didn't work hard enough to be great. That was his biggest problem. He took his amazing abilities and upped the ante very little form there. He didn't want to work and deal with the repititions it takes to be elite at anything. How do you think elite athletes become elite. Tirelessly attending to the details, day after day. Something he didn't have the discipline to do. So when the going got tough? Favre folded like a card table, unless he had a historically good team like '96 behind him.
@GDIN1993 And again - "he was tough", "his streak", "his records", "he turned the franchise around" and the beat goes on. Favre was mediocre the first 3.5 years. HOLMGREN shaped him into anything at all. And even that was imperfect as Favre and playbooks weren't the best of friends. But the WCO scheme and some very good players and Favre's longevity compiled a lot of PERSONAL stats. BUT TEAM SUCCESS was a lot harder to come by as Favre FAILED in pressure situations time after time after time.
@toolkien how many consecutive games did he start? and lets see you do anything the day after your dad dies. especially as close as they were. bullshit he didnt want to work, he gave his all every week for years, through injury, and personal struggles. No body has that much work ethic in the NFL
@Sparktakus2011 What does consecutive games matter for TEAM SUCCESS? Rodgers was out a game in 2010 and the Packers still won it all. Streaks are for meatballs. Pretty much all the Favre glory revolves around HIMSELF - his streaks and records. FOR THE TEAM, not so much. Favre used the Pack to garner all those stats, but when the team needed him to, you know, not throw 6 INT's, or 4 INT's, or two overtime playoff INT's, well, Favre couldn't do everything.
The reality is that the Packers fished his beery sotted butt off the Atlanta third string and gave him three chances to get his shit together. After three and half years of struggling and trading Brunell away, he finally got it. And he has played well in the REGULAR season since. Put he played like Caleb Hanie in the post season where GREAT QB's are made. Being good to very good for a long, long time is admirable, HOF worthy even. But it doesn't make you GREAT.
Imagine Holmgren staying a few more years and taking over from Wolf as GM and Ted Thompson being his right hand man with Hasselbeck taking over for Brunell. Starting to stretch a little but the fact remains Favre as PART of the Packer turnaround that would have happened with or without him. All Favre ended up doing was amassing great PERSONAL numbers and was a bastard for his team. He killed the team's chances so many times it's hard to distinguish one from another.
@toolkien yeah he almost won two superbowls in a row too you fucking retard. And in his tenure with Green Bay they were the best team in the league winning percentage wise.
@SaMiAm702 THE PACKERS almost won two Super Bowls in a row, NOT just Favre. And HOW IS IT the Packers had that win % and point differential, yet only managed the ONE championship? It couldn't have had anything to do with the 62.2 QB rating in playoff exit games outside the '95-'07 Great Years could it? Favre tossed WAY TOO many INT's when the pressure was on, and he failed and took his team down with him. And to add insult to injury for the rest of the team, THEY got blamed for Favre's INT's.
Brunell and Hasselbeck in tandem could have given the Packers nearly as much and perhaps MORE where it counted in the post-season. If Favre had been benched in 1994, Brunell, who from 1996-1999 was a two time pro-bowler himself with a 45-19 record and two championship game appearances, very likely could have gotten at least ONE SB for the Packers who were so complete in 1996, not just the QB position. And would Holmgren have left with a better pupil on Brunell?
Cable- all the packer lore stuff happened before Ron Wolf showed up, or Holmgren showed up, or the 93% of the roster that turned over from 1991 by 1996. It wasn't just Favre, and anyone other than blind Favre fanatics can see that. Favre was the best REGULAR SEASON QB ever by simply taking his average output times the number of season he did it. That can't be argued. But he wasn't the Packer franchise as so many people want to think.
Career interceptions thrown: 336. Career times sacked: 525. Career fumbles: 166 . Most consecutive AP NFL MVP awards: 3
Favre has engineered 46 fourth quarter or overtime victories. Like the PAss to Antonio Freeman in Overtime where is bounced into Freemans hands. Or the 12 sec. Lazer to Greg Lewis in Minnesota against the 49ers. Like him or not. He's a Hall a Famer and true Legend. The Legend of Lambeau. Ol' #4
Favre is the only quarterback to have led a team to victory over all thirty-two teams in the league since the NFL expanded to 32 franchises. Favre is one of four quarterbacks to lead the league in touchdown passes four times. The others are Johnny Unitas, Len Dawson, and Steve Young. He holds the record for the most consecutive starts by any player in the NFL with 297. Career passing touchdowns: 508. Career passing yards: 71,838. Career pass completions: 6,300. Career pass attempts: 10,169.
Under Favres reign as the Packers Qb. The Packers beat the Bears 10 consecutive times. The longest winning streak for either team in the Bears Packers 80 year rivalry. They even nicknamed Soldier Field "Favre's Playpen". In his Prime he was simply the best. He left fans breathless play after play, game after game. He was always humble. Polite. And most of all respectful. A true role model for kids and young football players alike. To play with heart, grit, toughness, but most of all fun.
In the 24 seasons from 1968 to 1991, the Packers had only five seasons with a winning record (above .500), one being the shortened 1982 strike season. Beginning with the 1992 season, the Packers had 13 consecutive non-losing seasons. Thanks to Brett Favre. He brought them to thier first superbowl appearance in 30 years. He took historic Lambeau Field and added more history and Great Games. Won more games at Lambeau than anyone ever. Didnt miss a game for almost 19 years.

aaron rodgers > brett favre, i hate favre for his stupid actions, but still respect him for what he did for our oganization, but arod will def go down as the better qb between the two
@nickgt111 aaron rodgers is a beast.... but favre is god and i know for a fact rodgers will never beats favres records favre >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> rodgers
@Uhntissuhntissuhn because arod rode the bench for the first few years... look at arods stats compared to favres for forst 3 seasons as a starter, hes crushing favre numbers, arod will bring more superbowl rings to green bay than favre, and when arods career is over, take arods X amoutn of seasons along with favres X amount, and arod will have way better numbers
Brett Favre will be remembered throughout history as the greatest Green Bay Packer ever. His joy for the game poured out onto the field and taught all of us around him how it should truly be played. No matter what jersey he wore, he played his heart out, and above all the records, this is what he will be remembered for in 100 years. We are all lucky to have been able to see him play, no matter if it was one game, or all 298.
@Kymera80TX Of course, but thats the beauty of it. Pack fans will always remember that major downer of Farve beating them in purple. The fans at Lambeau all looked like little kids who just realized their parents have been lying to them about Santa. Farve doesn't care about going back and losing, he's got the money. The Vike fans will not remember him going back and losing because it's not as big a deal. We will remember him wearing purple and dumping on you douchebags. Sweet!
@ericstrattendgtmy ... yea how'd those shitty vikings do this season??? ... vikings are fucking terrible an they're all a bunch of pussies... tell Percy Harvin to take some midol for his little headaches... you're a fag just like every other loser ass vikings fan
@ericstrattendgtmy That's what we're going to remember? Not that sweet INT in the 2009 NFCCG? Favre having to scrape his butt up off the field in 2010? Beating him 31-3 to close the ledger? Winning a Super Bowl in a season where we beat him twice? That's what I remember and that's what I'm going to remember. Favre was completely wrong about his own abilities and wrong about Ted Thompson's abilities. TT was on the Packer payroll for every NFCCG and Super Bowl they had since '92. Favre wasn't.
@ericstrattendgtmy And as a final comment, I am going to remember that the Vikings are 0-4 in Super Bowls and 0-5 in NFCCG's since, the last capped by Favre's idiotic pass to kill them. Meanwhile the Packers are 4-1 in Super Bowls and and 5-2 in NFL/NFC championships to get there. And it was Favre who killed us in both the '95 and '07 NFCCG's due to lack of discipline. Just pure sweetness the Vikings were dimwitted enough to install the Playoff Killer on their own team.
have you ever watched a football player and just had a feeling that "he's one of the great" well thats what i see and feel whenever i see farve playing. he is a great qb and will be rememberd as on of the greatest ever when he retires.
Brett Favre is one of if not the greatest QB in the past 16yrs. I just love that even after 17yrs playing the same game he can still jump around like its his first NFL touchdown of his life
strongest, most will powered QB ever!, starts every game, he's the one guy that when your team needs a starting QB, he will start, come hell or high water, unlike so many QBS who dont, and make us worry about the team, brett is that one guy whos always been there for every team he's played for
all you guys who say well if it was injured then why did he play are just plain stupid. 1. watch the interviews he didn't know it was injured , because it didnt bother him as a pain. It simply hindered his ability to throw a football to his full potential.number 2 GHCrules guy, you can throw with torn tendons. DO you think you are a doctor, you can hobble with a broken leg, so why would you not be able to throw with a torn tendon. its not like it was torn off
This video is amazing!! i love brett favre, oh and to the preson who made this... your username... yeah you should consider changing that. xD
P.S. to the people fighting about whose better Brett Favre or Dan Marino.
this is a Brett Favre tribute, so all Dan Marino fans, go to a Dan Marino video and bitch about it.
last thing im guna say is, who has more super bowl rings, records, and M.V.P awards? and don't give me that, "well he through the most int's. he broke much more then that.
This is the best video of Brett Favre by FAR! Thank you so much for making this! It really does honor Favre's legendary career!!! I love your other vids too!!
right the best video for the best QB of all time, brett favre will always et forever be the best qb of all time and non one can do a damn thing about that
how the hell is he not even close? who has 3 MVPs? Most TDs? most completions? yards? and most importantly MOST WINS? oh thats what i thought BITCH. BRETT FAVRE. SO SUCK IT.
hey buddy you forgot 1 stat who has the most interceptions ever u bitch. oh yea brett farve does and hes the only player in nfl history with over 300. so stfu u wanna name all his stats u gotta put ALL of them in there not just some. lick dese nuts and get off his balls
oh it doesnt? 300 plus pics doesnt matter. that means a shitload of stupid decisions have been made in his supposively great career. and we all saw wat he did in the NFC championship last year didnt we. he threw a pic and costed his team da game. u wanna talk about wins. if hes so dam good how cum he has 1 spuer bowl ring. hes been in the league wat 18 years sumthan like that and he has 1 ring to show for it. yea wins how bout the playoffs? how bout the super bowl? wins mean nothin without rings
ok if uve actually watched a Brett Favre game, u'd know that like half of those are because his recievers didnt fricken catch the ball. in the NFC championship game, the whole entire team sucked completely the whole game! for how shitty they played its surprising they only lost by 3. brett takes chances. thats how he plays. but if he didnt take chances then maybe he wouldnt have won so many games. so ur basically saying Marino sucks too cuz he never won a SB. true, rings do mean alot.
first off marino never had near the squads that brett favre has had. marino did everything pretty much by himself. he has never had a true good reciever. and no they didnt suck the hole game i watched that game they played good he lost the game for them it wasnt the offense it was him. and dont compare favre and marino because marino was wayyyyy more accurate
what? r u serious? the packers didnt play well at all that game. and marion never had a true good reciever? r u fucking joking? have u ever heard of the duo he had known as the "marks brothers"??? Mark clayton and mark duper. that recieving core is thought of as one of the top 10 best recieving cores ever. so dont give me the shit about never having a good reciever. Favre made a 1000 yrd reciever out of fuckin billy schroeder.
and why wouldnt i compare marino and favre? and ya i know that marino was way more accurate! marino was/is one of the most accurate passers to ever play!
you still didnt answer my question: who in your opinion are the best QBs and why?
and yes, i would agree that Favre has not played well this season. well hes played well in like 7 games. and then in the others hes either played ok or really sucked. but its a whole new team, new offense, new everything. so w/e. plus the jets are 9-6.
I really dont think you can compare Marino with Favre. Its sad and not really fair. Favre is a gunslinger, Marino was a sharpshooter. Two totally different styles. I think the all time greats all had their own styles personally. Id say P. Manning is a field general, Brady is a machine, and Elway was a sacraficer. You cant really compare stats on these kind of QBs. It will never add up.
clayton was an average reciever u dum ass. and no one has ever heard of the other guy so get outa here wit that shit. of course he did thats only 75 yards a game dum shit it aint hard to catch for 1000 yards in a season i could fuckin do it. 1000 yards means nothin. clayton was okay he wasnt that good and no they arent considered the top 10 recieving cores of all time thats a really ignorant comment.
Man shut the heck up! Favre is greater than marino! he started throwin accurate and got the Jets and team that was 4-12 the year b4 to 8-3 and they prolly woulda won the Sb if he didnt tear tendons in his arm. He played as a sharpshooter and was perfect! it wasnt his style though and it cost him!
thats fuckin dum to say favre is worse than marino thats just dumb. yea the jets started 8-3 wat did they finish. he finished the season with 2 td's and 9 pics. get the fuck outa here that was cause an injury no people just new how to shut down that suck ass team yea they started 8-3 but finished wat 9-7 or 10-6 who cares. they didnt make the playoffs. if u say it like that than chad pennington is better than favre cause he went to a 1-15 team and turned them in to a 10-6 playoff team
Ok Steeler Boy u dumbass Fuck, If any quarterback tore tendons in his arm he wouldnt b able to throw. If u knew anything about football u would kno that u dumbfuck!
yd his dum ass play then anyone knows that if you gotta torn bicep or watever he has and ur a QB u shouldnt be playin and i dont wanna hear that excuse. he played he coulda sat down if he hurt sumthan but if you play through an injury and you suck you just suck so shut the hell up and stop makin excuses for this crybaby.
U r such a dumbass, he even said " we still would have done better wit me playing than kellen clemens and u kno thats true, second, yea u can still throw but not at an NFL level dumbass
This video is awesome, but how do you get the footage man?! Anways it's kind of creepy but if you can get this type of !footage from his early days-all i have to say is sweet dude
thanks a lot for making this video so fucking GAY!!! YIKES!! thanks Faggot

Favre folded like a card table, unless he had a historically good team like '96 behind him.

all you guys who say well if it was injured then why did he play are just plain stupid. 1. watch the interviews he didn't know it was injured , because it didnt bother him as a pain.

Favre went to Green Bay because Atlanta's QB coach went their and the Packers needed a QB so he decided to take "The Gunslinger"

right the best video for the best QB of all time, brett favre will always et forever be the best qb of all time and non one can do a damn thing about that
nico4favrefan 3 years ago 4
no brett favre is not the best QB of all time not even close
SteelerBoy777 3 years ago
how the hell is he not even close? who has 3 MVPs? Most TDs? most completions? yards? and most importantly MOST WINS? oh thats what i thought BITCH. BRETT FAVRE. SO SUCK IT.
Judah712 3 years ago
hey buddy you forgot 1 stat who has the most interceptions ever u bitch. oh yea brett farve does and hes the only player in nfl history with over 300. so stfu u wanna name all his stats u gotta put ALL of them in there not just some. lick dese nuts and get off his balls
SteelerBoy777 3 years ago
hey fuck u. that doesnt matter. the most wins is what matters. the whole point of football is to win the game. dumbass.
Judah712 3 years ago
oh it doesnt? 300 plus pics doesnt matter. that means a shitload of stupid decisions have been made in his supposively great career. and we all saw wat he did in the NFC championship last year didnt we. he threw a pic and costed his team da game. u wanna talk about wins. if hes so dam good how cum he has 1 spuer bowl ring. hes been in the league wat 18 years sumthan like that and he has 1 ring to show for it. yea wins how bout the playoffs? how bout the super bowl? wins mean nothin without rings
SteelerBoy777 3 years ago
ok if uve actually watched a Brett Favre game, u'd know that like half of those are because his recievers didnt fricken catch the ball. in the NFC championship game, the whole entire team sucked completely the whole game! for how shitty they played its surprising they only lost by 3. brett takes chances. thats how he plays. but if he didnt take chances then maybe he wouldnt have won so many games. so ur basically saying Marino sucks too cuz he never won a SB. true, rings do mean alot.
Judah712 3 years ago
but wins mean alot too moron. If ur team doesnt win, ur not gonna make it to the playoffs let alone the SB.
Who in your opinion are the best QBs and why?
Judah712 3 years ago
first off marino never had near the squads that brett favre has had. marino did everything pretty much by himself. he has never had a true good reciever. and no they didnt suck the hole game i watched that game they played good he lost the game for them it wasnt the offense it was him. and dont compare favre and marino because marino was wayyyyy more accurate
SteelerBoy777 3 years ago
what? r u serious? the packers didnt play well at all that game. and marion never had a true good reciever? r u fucking joking? have u ever heard of the duo he had known as the "marks brothers"??? Mark clayton and mark duper. that recieving core is thought of as one of the top 10 best recieving cores ever. so dont give me the shit about never having a good reciever. Favre made a 1000 yrd reciever out of fuckin billy schroeder.
Judah712 3 years ago
and why wouldnt i compare marino and favre? and ya i know that marino was way more accurate! marino was/is one of the most accurate passers to ever play!
you still didnt answer my question: who in your opinion are the best QBs and why?
and yes, i would agree that Favre has not played well this season. well hes played well in like 7 games. and then in the others hes either played ok or really sucked. but its a whole new team, new offense, new everything. so w/e. plus the jets are 9-6.
Judah712 3 years ago
I really dont think you can compare Marino with Favre. Its sad and not really fair. Favre is a gunslinger, Marino was a sharpshooter. Two totally different styles. I think the all time greats all had their own styles personally. Id say P. Manning is a field general, Brady is a machine, and Elway was a sacraficer. You cant really compare stats on these kind of QBs. It will never add up.
b1randon12 3 years ago
Marino wasn't as accurate as Warner or Young. Both of them have a ring. Danny Boy does NOT.
Chad Pennington deserves more credit in this sense than Danny Boy, (The Ringless Wonder)
Warner is a better #13, than Marino.
That will incite some people. I did it on purpose!
EAP775150 2 years ago
clayton was an average reciever u dum ass. and no one has ever heard of the other guy so get outa here wit that shit. of course he did thats only 75 yards a game dum shit it aint hard to catch for 1000 yards in a season i could fuckin do it. 1000 yards means nothin. clayton was okay he wasnt that good and no they arent considered the top 10 recieving cores of all time thats a really ignorant comment.
SteelerBoy777 3 years ago
Man shut the heck up! Favre is greater than marino! he started throwin accurate and got the Jets and team that was 4-12 the year b4 to 8-3 and they prolly woulda won the Sb if he didnt tear tendons in his arm. He played as a sharpshooter and was perfect! it wasnt his style though and it cost him!
GHCrules3947 2 years ago
thats fuckin dum to say favre is worse than marino thats just dumb. yea the jets started 8-3 wat did they finish. he finished the season with 2 td's and 9 pics. get the fuck outa here that was cause an injury no people just new how to shut down that suck ass team yea they started 8-3 but finished wat 9-7 or 10-6 who cares. they didnt make the playoffs. if u say it like that than chad pennington is better than favre cause he went to a 1-15 team and turned them in to a 10-6 playoff team
SteelerBoy777 2 years ago
Ok Steeler Boy u dumbass Fuck, If any quarterback tore tendons in his arm he wouldnt b able to throw. If u knew anything about football u would kno that u dumbfuck!
GHCrules3947 2 years ago
yd his dum ass play then anyone knows that if you gotta torn bicep or watever he has and ur a QB u shouldnt be playin and i dont wanna hear that excuse. he played he coulda sat down if he hurt sumthan but if you play through an injury and you suck you just suck so shut the hell up and stop makin excuses for this crybaby.
SteelerBoy777 2 years ago
U r such a dumbass, he even said " we still would have done better wit me playing than kellen clemens and u kno thats true, second, yea u can still throw but not at an NFL level dumbass
GHCrules3947 2 years ago
how long ago honestly did i post that it had to be months ago. so i dunno wat ur commenting on.
SteelerBoy777 2 years ago
Favre made donald driver. Greg Jennings is amazing but still. Favre Marino in no way is as good as favre. Except for never winning a Sb.
