There are so many things that feel fishy about this Kaku character.. having been somewhat involved in sciences (granted, social sciences and not physics) i've learned to accept most scientists are completely off or flat out wrong with their theories so instead of rebuilding from scratch they decide to add exceptions into the mix to fill the voids, which is what string theory and quantum mechanics are. However that doesn't invalidate their work and that's always amazing to me.

@dr1345 He did some pioneering stuff in an kind of obscure area of string theory, which in general was already kind of on the fringe of physics and is still not all that respected in a lot of physicists' circles. He wrote some books that sold well and ended up as that question guy they would go to on news and radio shows and eventually started hosting silly shows much like Bill Nye. He's a brilliant science popularizer but I would never compare him to Einstein or Hawking or Feynman.
