@otochari I think you're right on every account on what happened to him the late 60s. If he had gotten help for his drug problem and possible mental illness, he might have started to become more of his own person, make amends with those he hurt, and maybe even still alive today.
@otochari Wow. Btw if I may add, I could be wrong about this but I heard that John possibly could've already had some sort of mental illness(maybe bipolar or depression as you stated), and the drugs only made that much worse for him. He also had a lot of insecurities(ex. his weight, past, etc.). He had the symptoms of someone who may have been mentally unstable and such. He was an ultra talented musician yet severely troubled.
Shockingly, I admire some of the photos. I love the ones at 1:28, 1:47, 2:03, 2:22, 3:07, 3:14, and I especially LOVE 3:26. When I first heard this song, I thought it was John singing. Wow. Julian is DEFINETLY is his father's son. This song makes me cry. Obviously the movie, and John and Julian. For some strange reason, even though this is Julian singing, I feel as if it's John that would write this type of song for him to express his regret of neglecting him and that he loves him.
@Gabreya I know, right? Julian's voice sounds almost like his father's!! Yes, and it is almost like John is speaking through Julian. And the song is beautiful because it is like saying that Julian is at peace with his father. =)
@iluvafalloutboy Exactly! If you listen to the lyrics closely, it's the kind of words John would say to him. Some of the words that stayed with me like "I was wrong to deny your feelings and I'm sorry that I caused you pain."
Thinking back to Mr. Holland's Opus, I'm glad that Glen finally realized how he needed to be a better father to Cole and showed that he did in fact love him. I can't help but think of a similar thing John would've done with Julian had he lived a little longer. :,( Sorry.
@Gabreya You are sooooo right. That lyric "I was wrong to deny your feelings and I'm sorry I caused you pain," could totally be seen as something John would've wanted to say to Julian. John wasn't really the best father to Julian, and I don't think he meant to be unfair to Julian, but he didn't know how his actions affected Julian. I believe that John would've wanted to apologize to Julian. =')
@iluvafalloutboy Yes. :,) I think John most likely wanted to apolige to Julian and patch things up with him. I heard that in the last two years of his life, John revealed that he felt GUILTY and TERRIBLE about what he done to him, and want to start over. In his last interviews, John kept bringing up Julian meaning that that his guilty conscience was running wild.I'm not sure if this really happened but I heard that on the night he was murdered, he was going to call Julian.
@Gabreya Are you serious?? I didn't know he was going to call Julian! That is sooo sad! I have this article I cut out of a newspaper on John's (what would've been) 70th birthday and it is an interview with Yoko. And she recalls that before they got home she asked John if he wanted to go out to a restaurant but he said, "No, I want to see Sean before he goes to sleep." Soooo saaad because he never made it. John was a really loving father and I don't think he would've intentionally hurt anyone.
@iluvafalloutboy Yes. John wanted to go check up on Sean and then call and talk to Julian on the phone. He had been calling Julian to talk with him when either Julian was so mad at him he didn't take his calls. Other times when he did take his calls, they were tapped by Yoko. So, when they FINALLY got the chance to talk to eachother, John told him to listen for the call because they had a lot to talk about and he probably wanted to ask for his forgiveness. Heartbreaking just thinking about it.
@iluvafalloutboy I don't know if you know this but John was planning on moving back to Europe after Christmas 1981 with Sean to be near his family. According to one of the John Lennon biography books by Fred Seaman(John's assistant/friend), John talked to to his aunt and told her that he applied for citizenship in Ireland or Switzerland(sorry, I can't remember which) and was bringing Sean with him so that he can be near Julian and his relatives. Yeah. :(
@Gabreya Yeah, John and Yoko were planning on visiting Liverpool and his relatives after they released Double Fantasy and I think after a single was number one or something. Yeah, it is too bad that this happened. John Lennon was such an amazing, inspirational person and it is hard to believe that someone wanted to take that away from the world and his loved ones. =(
@iluvafalloutboy Actually, from what I've heard and read, it was just John and Sean that were going to Liverpool and stay there permanently. Believe it or not, he and Yoko were planning on divorcing in 1981 after 'Double Fantasy' which was sort of mediocre and is believed that had he lived, the album would've flopped. 2 months after he died, she was scene photographed with her then lover and acting like everything is normal. I agree. I can't believe John was taken away from us so soon.
@iluvafalloutboy Sorry about the mistake I made. I meant to say Christmas 1980! NOT 1981. 1981 is the year that was suppose to the year that John finally starts to "live again" if you know what I mean.
@iluvafalloutboy Also, just before he died, he written a long letter to Julian that was suppose to go straight to him with Fred's help. However, it took years for Julian to get his letter and had to buy it from an auction brought on by Yoko. He has the letter now and it's in a museaum in London dedicated to his father that he and Cynthia opened. But back to that, I guess that's evidence that John really was remorseful on how bad a father he was to him and wanted to show him that he does love him
@Gabreya Oooo, that is so horrible that Julian didn't get the letter and that he had to buy it! It was rightfully his! =/ Yeah, but John probably felt horrible. He wasn't the kind of person who didn't give a damn and acted carelessly. Sometimes John was a bit of a prick, but that was just his personality and I don't believe that he would've hurt Julian or Cynthia on purpose without trying to make up for it.
@iluvafalloutboy Yeah. It took him years to find his letter. Sometime after John's death, once he found about the letter, he asked Yoko for it and she simply said "No." What's worse was that he was cut out of John's will by Yoko to which started a lawsuit battle that lasted, I think, 18 years. He gets $100, 000 a month from his father's estate which is absurd. Well, way more than absurd. Insanely asinine. Julian is John's flesh'n'blood and I don't think John would appreciate what she's done.
@iluvafalloutboy Unfortunately yes. SHE IS A TOTAL BITCH! Her mistreatment of others over the years never cease to amaze me. I just NEVER understood why she was so cruel towards John's colleagues, friends, and especially family. I forgotten to mention that when Julian had released his album "Photograph Smile", she had wrote to all of the record companies, trying to stop the album's release because Sean is also releasing an album to no avail. Seriously. What the hell is wrong with her?
@Gabreya Something is SERIOUSLY wrong with Yoko. I mean, I am happy that John appeared to be happy with her because I love him to pieces. Haha, but yeahhhhh. I hate her.
@iluvafalloutboy Same here. And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice that something isn't right with Yoko Ono. I always thought that she was weird but I now know that she's a manipulative, cruel, leecherous fool.
