  • Actually this one is maintained in the original form, so this is still technically diesel electric.

  • Detroit 6VT92 couple with ZF 4HP500...great music!

  • actually those arnt diesel electric anymore since i found out that the breda had the diesel engine taken out of them and then they were put back in cause of weight issues but they never hooked them back up from what i read.

  • Wow music to my ears

  • Got to love that Detroit Diesel

  • This bus sounds like 1991 D60HF New Flyers in San Francisco MUNI.

  • And OMG, what is that beautiful red GM Fishbowl come from? Excellent Video!!

  • Im surprised this bus was 6V92 powered. Since it is Breda built, Id figure it to come with something like a MAN 2466 engine or the Volvo TDH-100EK engine.

  • Are these still in Service?

  • @qwandiddy Yes, they are. Except the ones in use (besides 5034) are strictly trolley buses now, mainly for use on routes 7, 9, 43, and I think 49. They are numbered 4200-4258 and have the newer green seats instead of the blackish-brown leather ones. The smell of the old rubber floor remains, and the destination signs are now orange (plus 4221 having a white destination sign now).

  • @geetarcharlie17 At least that KC Metro didn't have to follow FTA crap, they're still allowed to operate their buses that are over 20 years old, I wish that they still run M.A.Ns. As for 4221, you mean roll-up signs?

  • I used to ride the 255 in Kingsgate from 1993 to 1997, back when they had Loop A and B before going back to Seattle. Very fond memories....

  • Oh hello. Why how are you doing! What a lovely sound this one has.

  • I loved riding these buses in the late 90's. They just had a sound I could never forget. I also have video of these dual modes in service in the tunnel. I will always remember my first ride on the Line 253 back in 1995 before the Line 550 was around

  • Just the way I remember those in their early years. They rode a lot nicer in the back half when they still had their diesel motors in them compared to the ones that had their diesel engines removed for conversion to straight electric trolley operation. The back end ride on the converted units is horrible!

  • This is what I call quality! Awesome

  • VERY NICE!!!!!! I approve of this piece of equipment right here!!!!! Excellent video man!
