@jasongiddensviper478 Yes, what else do you want? I've put separate onboard videos up of the thing in action etc. This was just a view from the outside.
Hi.. This one cost me about £1,000 to build. You can probably find one nearby on eBay, but it's not like building it yourself. Get the plans (and even parts) from The Edge Buggies.
@bakerv3 hi real cool buggy im buying the plans for the pihranna aswell just wondering were did u get the sterring from and the suspension and the 2 back drive shafts tanx
Hi. They're just single A Arms, which is the same as I put on the later Sidewinder, but if I ever build anything else I'll build with double. It will just take a bit longer, but make everything work better.
I would finish the Sidewinder off and do some vids of that if I was able to be back home in the UK. Currently I'm working in Holland due to there being no IT work in the UK. :-(
i wanna make something similar to this, i have some videos of mine on here but its not as advanced. haha but im getting a welder soon so im gunna make a buggy with a motorcycle engine. :)
The front hubs were trailer hubs (from local trailer manufacturer)
The driveshafts were bits from a Lada Niva 4x4 (inner CV Joint and Ford Sierra (Outer halfshafts). I welded them together. FYI.. You need a good 220Amp welder at least as the welds don't like 100bhp pushed through them ;-)
I was thinking using a complete driveshaft and hubs off a vauxhall corsa or something similiar then I wouldn't have to weld then because i dont have a that much power of a welder. would that work?
@bakerv3 the edge products will try to tell you that you need porshe cvs but it is easy enough to find a much much cheaper option, cuase some of us cant afford them.
hi, very nice work with the buggy btw. Im really wanting to buy or make my own. Where did u get all the stuff for it from, and especially hings like the exuast system, speedo dash and suspension? cheers bud
Cheers.. Most of the bits and pieces came from either eBay, or car boot sales. The suspension came off an old Datsun I believe (front suspension struts) ;-)
I just found a torrent for plans for this. Hoping its not a fake, You would normally have to pay for the plans. If you dont know how to download torrents search it on google and you will soon learn. I really want to find the plans for the st2 buggy!!
nice looking buggy ,good job.hey could you tell me were i could get the plans of one of those machines ,me and my son have been looking to build one for a while but cant get decent plans
The Edge have been very helpful to me. I would not spread their plans around. If you can't afford the cheap plans, then you definately can't afford to build one!!
I have been emailing the edge and they are very helpful but im on a small budget and if i can bet the plans or anything for the buggy for free then its a plus thanks for the fast response and hopefully youll beable to see videos of my first build in a few months
just a question,My brother and I are going to make a buggy similar in size. About how much did the raw materials cost( metal for, the frame suspension seat and all.)
The main frame cost about £150. Seat was about £100, suspension was off an old car etc. All in the buggy cost about £1500 to build. Engine was cheap though (£100)
'Coz they would have shredded themselves to bits. The ones on the front were old and cracked. PLUS they were a different hole pattern. I couldn't justify spending £250 on decent wheels. The new bugy I'm building does have proper "Front Max" and "Bearclaws". That looks cool...
What way did yoy work the drive shafts cause i have bilt one and the drives are pto shafts and they are breaking with me.what part of the world are you from?
your not so far away just as i thought i can hear radio one in the back ground i am from northern ireland.i have just orderd a pair of drives from edge products its costing me 275 pounds i didnt want two have two do that but it less borther for me
now just mount a gun on the front and you get Half-life 2

It's hard to get enough travel without the Universal Joints hitting their stops. Porsche cv joints evidentally have a good angle.

It's controlled by a thermostat, so it only cuts in when the rad gets to about 90 deg Centigrade. (as per the standard Kawasaki ZX6-R)
