  • It's a disturbing trend to see this male-bashing in advertisements. Alot of television shows are male-bashing, EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND, KING OF QUEENS --just for starters.

I thought the feminist movement was pushing for equal rights.

I thought the feminist movement was pushing for equal rights, this male-bashing seems to go too far.

  • isn't it sad the whole concept of misandry and feminism is to make women feel powerful by pushing men into the dirt. Empowerment through hypocrisy? I thought females were supposed to be more mature than that.

It's sadder still that social diseases like misandry and misogyny still exist.

  • People can say whatever they want to try to cover it up. They would utterly lose their minds if women had the crap kicked out of them so blatantly all the time, particularly when you hear the studio audience laugh on some damn tv show.

  • Male bashing and the perception of men as bad only is a feminist perversion and a social sickness.

  • Let's turn the tables on these ads and see females replace the males!

  • I heard many women say "Its just comedy and you would not expect a man to be stupid or clumsy, its something unexpected." I do not find it funny cause I seen that shit so much on TV that I always see it coming...

  • @Garrett00009 yeah, what would be unique is a role reversal in these commercials

  • @qeebo The irony though, if the roles were reversed, it would actually be closer to the truth.

  • @mcnuggetssmcnuggetss Not to mention biological fathers got the leas risk or some shit, I read after mothers most likely to abuse children are the mothers new boyfriends.

  • LOL LOL LOL

  • @mcnuggetssmcnuggetss that's because it isn't true :)

  • @CanadiaNecro1

What are you referring too? Please spare me the ignorance.

  • @mcnuggetssmcnuggetss

I know that comment was a year ago but I would like to know your source for those statistics. Not that I doubt them I would just like to know where they're coming from.

  • @smittenburrito US Department of Justice.

Do A searche on "US Department of Justice, 70% of confirmed cases of child abuse and 65% of parental murders of children are committed by mothers. "

  • Haha

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, 3 examples. You've got me convinced. There are hundreds of commercials out there with BOTH genders being put through some form of physical violence. I suggest that you research and attach some statistical evidence to this video otherwise your argument is pointless.

  • its nice to know their are some others that who see the violence against men has got to stop,we need to file law suits against these advertisers, its just so wrong to promote violence against men.

  • We see a man when we see violence because we have been brainwashed to view woman as soft angle .Men and boys on the other hand are viewed as pedophiles and abusers when i see more woman being the agressors. Its funny because woman are quick to punch a dud but when he hits back call the cops!woman can be just as violent and even more violent as men.

  • "Child abuse is rare, and both genders participate."

Child abuse is not as rare as you may think, and mcnuggets did not say men do not abuse children i believe he said that "mother (woman)" commits it more.

  • Disclaimer: I'm a feminist and a masculinist. Or just a gender-equality-advocate.

Anyssa, part of the reason you see men in violence so much is because our society glorifies violence in men- not because men are more violent. Violence among men tends to be caused at least in part by this glorification. We are pressured to be violent. Violence by women exists, too, though.

Child abuse is not rare, and women do participate. I have personal experience here. My own mother was abusive.

  • Yea, very well said Crawdaddy. I couldn't agree more.

  • Wow this comment really warranted being marked as spam? Idiotic people annoy me.

  • Okay, I tried to watch this with an open mind, but I honestly do not see how this is "sexist." Violent and a bit distasteful, maybe, but sexist? It's just a guy getting beaten up by some other people (including another man at one point). Maybe it's because of the grainy video quality, but am I missing something?

  • Fuck you feminist if comparable scenes but with women being bashed were aired on every adslot there is no way you would be saying it's "slapstick humor".

You fucking hypocrite liar. Get cactus fucked.

  • How old are you? And are you capable of reasoning? That commercial was not bashing males just because there was some guy getting beaten up. If it were a woman it would've been "slapstick" to me, too. Don't put words in my mouth, you fucking disrespectful, judgmental, poser (because you apparently don't "conform," and you state that you are anti-everything in your profile).

And what the hell is getting "cactus-fucked" anyway? You have issues.

  • Hohoho far from "anti-everything" my femicunt friend. All of the movements/philosophies I listed are fundamentally connected. To oppose one of the them is to oppose them all I just laid it out plainly.

  • There is another spectrum of right-wing thought that I am not opposed to at all.

  • "Femicunt?" You don't even know me. For all you know, I could hate women more than men. But you DON'T know, do you? So then reserve your judgment, you hateful fool.

  • you are a moron

  • And you're a judgmental piece of shit. If you want to hate women, fine, I can't stop you. But at least I explain myself instead of resorting solely to petty insults. Seriously, how pathetic.

For the last time: Those were NOT "male-bashing." It would've had the same effect on me if it were a woman getting beaten up. Know why? It's a fucking commercial. Get over it.

  • @NintendoArielle wrote " It would've had the same effect on me if it were a woman getting beaten up. "

The reason that women are not the recipients of violence in commercials is the same women that laugh at violence to a man would protest commercials that depict violence to a woman. While you may believe that you would have the same reaction, the majority of women would have a strong reaction.

  • @NintendoArielle And you my dear are part of a socialist cult that will soon be extinct.

  • I disaree with you avant because I watch a lot of TV because I don't have much of a life but men get far far more degredation in adds and movie content. Usually a tall good looking or ethnic guy may be depicted as a good one. Women as innocent good natured well intentioned victim and men as bad destructive selfish violent stupid agressors. A lot of men are the above but so are a lot of women too. Nobody knows the figures but men are usually emotionally weaker and gullable.

  • pictureofpictures: Beautiful women are generally more positively portrayed than 'ugly' ones. "Lookism" is common in both genders.

There are plenty of shows that portray female villains and good-natured men.

Men are not 'emotionally weaker and gullable". All people are individuals with varying personalities that cannot be so easily stereotyped.

I'm not denying prejudice exists. I recognize it and, as a man, seek to fight it. But let's not forget or blame women.

  • What you say is a lie.

  • Wow, you say 6 mild words to her when she outright insults men, and then completely go apeshit on me for saying that I tried to view the grainy video as honestly as possible.

    Pathetic.

  • None of that detracts from the fact that you are a man-hating feminist, and that forms your entire worldview.

Not only that, but your misandric disposition is completely obvious.

  • It's relative because she outright bashed males, whereas I was observant and even acted humble by considering the grainy quality of the video to be a culprit.

I'm not a "man-hating feminist." I just didn't find the commercial to be bashing males.

Yeah, I totally hate males, even though most of my friends are male, and I don't go out of my way to say shit about them like the other woman did. Great logic.

  • Maybe you got me on that one.

But typically when someone apologises for these sort of ads they are feminist and therefore anti-male.

  • Women have friends only to exploit them, and the fact you don't think these ads are male bashing is purely a result of your complete and utter programming by society. Women like you now can no longer tell where violence starts and where comedy finishes.

  • You're going to use the "Some of my best friends are Black" routine? Sorry but that doesn't cut the mustard. If the ads were done; gender reversed, it'd be an outrage, and NOW would be ready to sue. Of course, that is not to be taken as "Nerotique wants to see women bashed in commercials." On the contrary, all misogyny and misandry is just plain wrong! These TV spots are just plain wrong.

  • There's a lot of misandry in the world, but this just seemed to be generic violence, and nothing against men in particular, they just happened to be the targets in these commercials.

  • Wow, feminists are becoming rather bloodthirsty. No wonder the suicide and self mutilation rate is higher amongst males than it is females.

  • a statment of the general cultures sentiments

  • YES. Right on the money Ironzealot.

Feminism is the very basis of our (Western) culture, and these ads reflect that.

Same with the anti-male pop music business, much of which is controlled by feminist MTV CEO Judy McGrath.

  • floydianworld, feminism is not the basis of our western culture. No matter what double standards may exist today, western culture has historically been patriarchal and patrilineal, and women have not had economic or political power- and no, being able to marry a rich or powerful man does not count. Men are still more dominant than women in business and government.

Pop music is not feminist- the scene is rife with objectification and fetishization of women.

  • @CrawdaddyJoe The reason not many women are in powerful jobs at the top of the ladder is because many woman choose not to go after them, most just choose to be stay at home mothers.

and nit picking at that even though its women's choices is what led to this is hardly a logical conclusion.

and the reason why men make more money is cause they do more more dangerous and physically demanding jobs

risk=bigger reward but many women choose to not take those risks

  • violence against men is funny, but violence against women is horrifying

  • is that sarcastic or misandry?

  • Attack me, or any self respecting man, and I will show you how funny violence against women can be.

  • Violence against ANYONE is disgusting.

  • It was slapstick humor. Don't take it so seriously. It had nothing to do with personal attacks against men.
