  • fantastic work

  • Amazing

  • Tanya Harding?? SPOT ON!! Incredible.. especially for only 3hrs!

  • that water paint. not acrylic!

  • @thecombatscientist I'm pretty sure that the artist just watered down the acrylic paint, it makes it act like watercolour so you can create more details and layers without making it really thick.

  • my god dude!

  • doesnt seem like acrylic! :o

  • Comment removed

  • During the first stage, are you just using different shades of the same colour? Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question, I'm colour blind.

  • respect+

  • what is that big thing u r using toward the end? to buff it out? also what kind of paper? and pencils, pastel? thanks its beautiful

  • what kind of paint did you use? what colors?

  • I love it. Your imagination is wondeful! Please keep it up :)

  • I liked! tell me a thing: have you used some carbon pencils? It is the standard procedure starting from a eye for painting? Bye

  • looks a bit like watercolour at first. just sayin

  • woooooow! :))

  • wtf!!! i need to ask you some questions please

  • simply awful.... (that you arent famous) :D

  • AWESOME job! I have never been able to do realistic paintings :/ It takes such a talented person.

  • PLEASE READ:

can anyone plz tell me how he makes the colors?? i've been having a hard time trying to get colors of white people or black people or any kind of person to be even close to their skin shade...and also hair color. and also, do you skecth out the outlines before painting it on the cavas do you don't mess up? --sorry im used to pencil..no paint and all but i need to learn how to paint better

  • @IamShyChi

Didn't you ever just /play/ with paints? For skin shades, you just mix until it looks right, then you layer with other colours for highlights and low lights (such as yellows, greens, purples, reds and blues) If you haven't done much with paints and mixing and learning about colour mixing; then it's probably best to start with water colours (only because they are the easiest to mix, they are possibly the hardest medium to make into realism, as they are almost too 'soft')

    Good luck. :)

  • @PurpleGhost Thanks!! over the past days i have gotten wayy better.. i guess it was me not practing. hahaa. but i can figure out lighter skin shades. but when im trying to paint myself i keep mixing nd mixxing and i can't get nowhere near my shade.. which is like sort of a light brown... and i put highlights.. but i still look weird..which is where i found the talent of pop art painting.. i can get away from skin shades for a little while haha :p but thanks for your advice, ima practice more! :)

  • @IamShyChi - Light brown can be hard to get looking right - My suggestion is remember that skin is all layers of colour; so for example, you could do a layer of orange in the shape of the exposed skin, then layer it with a creme wash (so that's paint watered down) then layer with purple-wash where the shadows will be, creme wash again, layer with green-wash where the highlights will be, then spong on (or dot on) a redish-brown-wash, then creme again, then a wash of the closest brown. Try it. :)

  • amazing : )

  • Amazing Work! You are awesome!

  • this just made my paintings look like caca :P lol good job :)

  • wow good work... What are you using to highlight the hair ? whats the brand of pencil?

  • WOW !!! you shocked me with they painting !!! I love painting people faces and I paint with Acrylics colors but I'm not as good as you are ,,, amazing I wish for you the best always and I'll try to learn from you .. LOVE IT <3

  • Absolutely AMAZING! I would kill to be as great of an Artist that you are. :)

  • I like that I was able to see the finished product for that long~ The couple of videos I've watched already makes the final result vanish at the end D;

  • not human man! you have super artistic powers!

  • what is that round thing you are using and how long did it take you to paint this?

  • @mangomania14 He is using an airbrush. Fantastic work.

  • absolutely ridiculously incredible!!!!!

  • amazing

  • wow!!! i imagine the amount of work and talent behind your skill... and i know how hard it is to paint with acrylics.

    do you use acrylic retarder?

how do you make the blending between colours so smooth, with no rough edges?

what tool is that, which u use between 2:10 and 2:23?

you are so talented, you should do some tutorials and post them on youtube.

    congrats!

  • you are brilliant!!

how do u do it i realli wana learn how to paint people! iv tried before but its hard haha! i noticed u used a redish start for the face is it...? and did u let dat dry before u put the flesh colour on? and also ....(sorri bout all d questions) but is flesh colour yellowie brown with loads of white?

id realli appreciate if u answered all my questions ...

    thanks :P :)

  • I think you are simply a wonderful artist. And the fact that you take the criticism or comments from people as a challenge. That makes you truly noteworthy. These are all beautiful and I hope you continue to do more.

  • The painting is incredible,

but the cheeks and jaw made it look like a man, everything else is perfect.

  • @ArtTheRussian Ironically, I just mentioned this kind of crit in one of my latest vids. I know you meant well, but a lot of times people will make what they think is an art criticism on a facial feature in a portrait of someone who they've NOT seen the actual reference photo. When in actuality, the detail in question could be correct and they unwittingly have just criticized that person's face. One reason I've backed off on painting people I know. :-/ But thanks for the compliments as well.

  • @cgsbgs I see what you mean taking a second looks at it, thanks, I learned something new today.

  • @ArtTheRussian Thanks for the kind response. I wish more people were as thoughtful. :-)

  • @cgsbgs I dont care how she looks, but the way you created it.. hats off ! Terrific. Amazing control. :)

  • @rohit1202 even digital painting requires skill. software is as good as pencil. its the person holding the pencil.

  • can only say wow, it is amazing work 'o'

i want someday i can draw and paint like you

  • The lips seems a bit out of place, but still excellent work.

  • Am so fuckin jealous wish i could do that

  • wow thats really good. i liked it when it was just all red

  • that was pretty amazing [y]

  • So is it best to use quite alot of water with acrylics? And what were those pencils used for the detail?

  • where you always painting like this or you developed it through time?? i used to draw decently ( the best in my class ) when i was younger and now in my 20s i have started again. i really want to draw like this. you are so great!

  • Oh my god. This is more than amazing! At firs I was thinking wtf, but this is a masterpiece done in seconds. Ah, I wish I could draw anywhere near this...

  • i was watching it and told myself "eh, okay, its not that great" but then i saw the end product. holy shit man. god bless that talent of yours.

  • you doubters just got pwned

(love your videos by the way i wish i could only paint an eighth as good as you do :)

  • you doubters just got pwned

  • just...WOW!...

  • I seriously can't believe that a person as talented as you actually exists..... :O

I honestly don't know why people actually voted down and put bad comments on here.... it's impossible to dislike an amazing masterpiece such as this! :D

I am definitely checking out your channel and subscribing.....! (>.<)

  • I love your videos.

  • first of all tanks for uploading!

    i have a question

    till 2:12 i thought

"okay if i keep it up i might reach that level once

but then you start smoothing it, or blending it and it just turns real

how? and what kind of brush or tool did you use?

    sry for my bad english

i hope you can tell me how you do that effect

  • is this really acrylics?

    doesnt look like it

  • Thank you this is very helpful :)

  • wowww, amazing, very good painting. Who is the painter?

  • I've killed the better part of my morning watching your vids again and again. Very nice stuff! Don't let bad comments bring you down. I've been drawing my whole life and I only have a small(very small) fraction of your talent. From where I sit, what you do is pure magic. What I've come to learn is the artist is always his own biggest critic, you can't let the jerks on here get to you, they are just more vocal then the rest.

  • Well i think this Artist is brilliant . Well done one of the best i have seen .

  • We watched this in art the other day...we were all amazed :))

  • holy shit!!!:O

  • you have magic fingers and a well developed brain.

  • awesome.

  • how can people dislike this? just...

  • Amazing work!

  • Wow. I really need to get back into painting.

  • 10 haters what a disgrace!!! How can you dislike this video unless you hate art itself. Keep it to yourself next time or at least have a valid reason, there isn't one single reason you should hate on skills. Grow up.

  • i must say.... ur work is very inspiring! i think ive found my new motivation :) hopefully one day ill get as good as this ^ ^

  • i..think....i...love you.

  • fascinating process!

  • My art teacher said if there's a lot of erasing it's not art, not sure I agree, but it's sure hard to find any art without a lot of erasing. There was a guy in my class who would draw these beautiful beautiful inked drawings without any erasing or even sketching first. I wish I knew his name so I could see if he has any displayed online somewhere.

  • @faithm I'd have to disagree as well about what your teacher said. The process of making the art shouldn't have anything to do with the final result when it comes to determining it to be 'art' Adding and taking away, it's part of the process. Once it's done, then decide whether the art is good or not. =P I use erasing as apart of certain techniques I use in my drawings, and sometimes make mistakes too.

  • dude, i envy your amazing artistic abilitiy!

  • i ALWAYS fuck up the nose!

  • MARRY ME, if you're a girl.

  • OMG you are awesome!!! i fall in love withe you wow

  • airbrush nice

  • I am a charcoal portrait artist who has decided to try acrylics. Thanks for this helpful video!

  • Wow ... :o Congratulations....! You're awesome :D

  • Amazing work - cheers

  • just.... incredible....

  • holly goodness!! that is some impressive talent!! :D

  • really really good. Very impressed.

  • thank you for the video that was very good and very instructive

what kind of pencils are those you use? is there any specific kind of pencil you should use with the acrylic paint?

And I supposed you must wait until it is very dry to use the pencil on top of it, correct?

What is the regular period of drying?

    Thank you very much

    You help us a lot

  • Comment removed

  • Omg! That is realy amazing! Keep up good work!

  • what tools are u using 4 this?

  • genius

  • amazing accuracy. i adore all the attention to detail. im curious how long does it take u in reality to paint such wonderful portraits? with all the details and everything...

  • @AlinaTheodora it says in the info box, 3 hours for this painting.

  • amazing

  • OMG!!! AAAAAwesome!!! :D I wnt to be as clever as this!!!

  • the paint drying looks awesome sped up

  • Dude you got talent. Keep painting =), and make more videos!

  • *~Wow, beautiful painting!!! Do you use any blending medium? I use acrylics too, and bought floating medium by mistake, It's cool to work with though,I posted a video with some rainbow colored paintings done with the floating medium. It lets you layer colors, and keeps the paint wet a lil longer too. Also, what kind of pencils are you using at the end? I love combinig different mediums. Love and Light to you and yours!!!~*

  • This reminds me more of water-color than acrylic, because of all the thin layers.

  • damn u, i love ur work chris xD i really hate you xD

  • Forget all the people criticizing your art. I'm jealous, because I sure can't paint (let alone draw) like that!

  • This was really helpful for a beginner...because I haven't been diluting my acrylic paints and see now that is necessary! Thank You! You are very talented!

  • GREAT!

  • Hello I have a question.. great work by the way, What kind of brush do you use at the beggining of the video

    ?

  • Screw those lame-os, this is awesome and better than anything 99.9% of the world's population could do. Awesome work man!

  • this isnt just good its amazing. idk why the heck anyone would put anything down like this. stupid trolls. keep up the good work it inspires me :)

  • looks gangster i want to do paintings like theese

  • I like this, nice job.

  • wow your really talented

  • .very nice one!!!!

  • Awesome Freehand! I take a long time to get an accurate face, I usually shoot for the projector to Save alot of time, and besides the skills are executed as you go along with the finishing touch! YOU HAVE Skills Indeed!

  • dude i've watched several of your videos, don't take any of these rejects to heart. a lot of it is probably jealousy, and a lot of it is a lack of appreciation of art. nothing about this painting looks out of proportion and you went out of your way to prove to people you had it in you. good job.

  • @pukebending Thanks.

  • what was the circular thing that you used?

  • @xrsilverxr ...and if I posted the reference pic, this comment would quickly become a lesson on how sometimes the viewer's perception's of proportions in a 2D painting can be erroneous.

  • @xrsilverxr ...Not necessary. When I paint portraits, I always use the mirror method to double check halfway through. Secondly- in this wondrous digital age- I also like to take the final scan of the paintings, and lay them over the photograph in the computer to see how accurate they are. This one lined up pretty good... So I'm really not sure what you are getting at.

  • @cgsbgs After all, no face is *really* ever in proportion and since this wasn't imagined, there's no need to adhere to something completely symmetrical. Impressive draftsmanship, especially the fact that you started with separate elements (lips, nose) and "grew out" rather than general shapes -> details. My only problem with the video is that it might encourage beginners to start with features (very difficult to pull that off) and "symbolize" the face. You were combining two processes, strange.

  • @cgsbgs what he/she is getting at is in their immature mind the perception is wrong because they have a childish reference in their head where all portraits are dead on forward. Look at kids drawings everything is dead on looking right at you any other angle is beyond him as an observer. Like a refined palette but of the eye. His eye lacks the sophistication to "see"

  • @xrsilverxr You havn´t got a clue what your talking about, stop smoking ganja whilst viewing videos.

  • @xrsilverxr haters hate.

  • Love the painting! it's good to see some artists still hold to old fashion way:) keep it up!

  • all haters should go hate and make dumb escuses somewhere else!!!! damn jealous people

  • what collor you use on the airbrush

  • great

  • This is awesome. Thank you for sharing.

  • AIRBRUSHING is NOT painting and colored pencils, etc., make this a MIXED MEDIA, not an "acrylic painting."

  • @giselle6363 ..well, if you wanna get technical- when you airbrush, you use paint. And here, I am spraying the acrylic paint through the airbrush. So to most artists, it is still painting.

  • @giselle6363...He's using acrylic paint you 'tard

  • what would be wrong about 'tracing'. many masters used optical devices. david hockney wrote a book on it.

  • i have never been able to "draw" as such but i would give my right arm to do something like that. can you learn this or is it natural god given talent?

  • Great Work. Beautifully done.. Are you airbrushing also? Em

  • Great Work. Beautifully done.. Are you airbrushing also? Em

  • ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!

  • Wow! I'm a musician that does some painting. My stuff has a good sense of color and I like doing it, but I'm really jealous of you and some of my friends that can do what you do. It amazes me. Wonderful stuff. =) What's that round cap type thing that I see using at around the end?

  • Ridiculously talented

  • ur hand of god

  • Is that an air gun is that for medum or color any way is one of the best portrates Ive seen

  • Wow this really looks great!! I just started using acrylics and try to find a way to use it the way I like, after looking at your work I know!! I didn't use as much water as you do (I think) or do you use medium? Thank you very much for sharing your great work with the world!!! XXX Angela, the Nethelands

  • Fantastic portrait man its a stunner, its finished for me at 0:52 i love the unfinished look :) hope to paint this well one day.

  • ten people are not blessed with eyes D:

  • Woow! Amazing!! :D

  • una maravilla... simplemente una maravilla que me proboca mucha envidia jajjajjaja bye

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-maaaaaaaaa-zing! : D thank you for sharing!

  • The lame way would be to open a picture in PS and click on aquarelle/watercolor :D

  • Amazing to see this evolve. Beautiful painting.

What tools are you using? What is the one with the round disk on the end -- airbrushing?

    Thanks for sharing.

  • wonderful !

  • Everyone has critics..ignore it and keep posting.

  • i saw colour ink +airbrush + colour pencil in the video instead of acrylics

  • you make it look so easy

  • This painting was finished at 2:00mins into the video. You should of stopped right there.

I know its hard to walk away from a piece, but its better to preserve rawness then dull everything down with polish.

    Just my 2cents.

As a video media guy, anyone saying about cheating,... does not know what they are talking about.

    This video is legit.

  • wow

  • amazing! :o)

I need more time for this...

  • WTF!....3 hours?! Dude that would take me like months to do!

  • holy crap, you made that so much harder than it should have been.

  • I think you should have used a little CG on this, and right at the VERY LAST SECOND, have the Lady in the Portrait Wink at you. LOL

    Superb !

  • This is amazing, and very motivating too. Very impressive how you can do this freehand without sketches.

  • Very good!

  • fuck! u are superb! u even drew the pimple out so nicely! :D

  • what did u do in the end to make the painting so bright!!??

    its awesome!

  • FANTASTIC WORK!!!!

  • wonderfully talented you are! My goodness very inspiring.

  • How do you blend acrylics so well, as you using washes, cuz they dry so fast and it seems to hard to blend tones next to each other?

  • WOW.

  • god damn i need me some acrylics, this is great

  • Wow.. u used acrylic + spray paint? + pencils of some sort?

Can i ask what those pencils u used were at the end please??

  • @amo1000 Probably coloured pencils similar to Prismacolor. White prismacolor are sweet pencils to bring out highlights it seems. I see lots of people using them for that.

Awesome job by the way :) As always, when witnessing talent like yours I just want to quit drawing all together. hehe.

  • Amazing!! What kind of red was it?

  • Holy shit. You are a mad man! Beautiful work!

  • fuckin awesome!!!!!!

    thumbs up!

  • the face looks plastic
