  • Hey Tim! You rock man!. By the way, what pedals are those?

  • Sloppy!!!

  • I remember seeing this drum rack maybe 10 years ago in MD. Dennis Chambers was using it for a bit. Triangular tubing, inclined seat, riser/lift for the kick drum. Dunno whatever happened with it though.

  • nice kiddie hi hats

  • is it just me or are your pedals not laying flat on the floor. Is there something like a wedge under them? If so, does this give better foot position?

  • Tim, you are an inspiration to a lot of drummers who want to advance their technique. I dont think its "cheating" when you spend the time coming up with a technique that works effectively for drumming. Any asshole who says so is obviously either jealous or too lazy to post his or her own video showing their progressive contribution to drumming! Cheers Tim!

  • NOOO tim not Axis pedal nooooo hate them get a real double pedal lol

  • you think with all his money he would buy longer trousers.

  • Wha MONEY are you talking about?

    Did I win the Lottery??

Im a working musician in Ablberta and the money is NOT that good

    Tim

  • it was a joke? :L

  • dam ur dum

  • lol , no wonder i cant double bass fast,, i never use heel toe, and well , looks like im gunna have to watch some videos on teqniques.

  • you can, you just havent taken the time to learn.

    cant means i wont.

  • Fuck heel toe, check out Derek Roddy instead.

  • That isn't hte solution, haha. Heeltoe is good, (as a matter of fact I use it and you can see my video on it.) but it's all about stamina and control.

  • you dont have to heel-toe to go fatst. just look at people like john rice who can roll crazy fast heel up.

  • im glad jazz has taken double bass back. but i just dont like his drumming. or his high hats. at all.

  • me neither but the technique is good though

  • tim

do u have any tips on how to build left leg speed. because i can do heel toe with my right foot but im having problems wtih my left foot.

    hope u can help!

  • im not tim, but i no for a fact that practicing in bursts of 4 helps control speed and endurance. its just the start u need for double bass and short enough.

  • very stable stand that the china is on.

  • What kind of Pedal is that?

  • it's either a Trick big foot or an Axis Long Board, don't remember now

  • axis

  • Axis have a weird shape, near the top it goes have the width, these pedals look completely rectangle to me, not sure though.

  • well the longboards do i dunno about the rest of the Axis range.

  • axis

  • axis

  • Im really not a fan of Tim tbh, Yes he can play fucking INSANELY fast, Which yeah, is impressive to a certain extent, Wow he can play fat on hands and feet, But man this video is entiteled "Double bass drumming GROOVES" It just isint Groove .. I just call it double bass with some basic shit thrown ontop of it, I may be wrong! I may be right, I just really dont think he's as good as everyone says, he's fast wow.. I dont find his So called "Groove's" Impressive Atol..

  • The emphasis is more on the double bass, he's more just showing some techniques.

  • i mean thomas lang's groove solo.......

  • I notice you use a ramp system for your pedals & drums - is that for comfort & speed?

    Thanks....nice work btw.

  • I'm also curious about that ramp system. Where would you purchase something like that? What does it help with?

  • Back problems, thats the whole reason. something something support of something. its supposed to help (it helps Tim Waterson)

  • i just watched THOMAS LANG SOLO......which was more amazing than this one..............no offenszzzzzzzzz tho..

  • Well, genius, this isn't a solo. It's a groove exercise.

  • Tim, if I had your feet this is the kind of creative genius i would try to aspire to

  • Fantastic Groove Tim!

  • I love your grooves Tim, and your techniques aswell. I watch your DVD alot and just love what its contents. Can't wait for your next one... If there is one:)

  • That was wicked man realy enjoed it.

  • hate his way of playing the bassdrum, maybe useful or even it´s good as a freaky thing but it is so fuckin ugly technique!

  • who ever said this was a poor comment should keep to themselves. jandeporside is allowed to have his own views, he didnt say anything bad about it, he just said in his opinion he doesnt like the way he does it.

  • To be honest i agree with both you and jandeporside.

I hate saying negative stuff about people, like so many other people do, However sometimes you can learn from criticism, so here it goes.

Tim, the sound of the playing is really sloppy sorry.

I really don't want to try and put you down or discourage you or anyone else, but it sounded bad.

Innovation is awesome, but sometimes old techniques just work best with certain styles.

    Peace.

  • i agree, i believe what he was doing is flamming his double kicks, personally i feel it is quite sloppy sounding aswell.

  • it sounds kind of sloppy because he's not using triggers... He's actually pretty accurate and plays dynamically... and when you're improvising you're never 100% on

  • Are you implying that any untriggered kit will sound sloppy?

  • no, I just think many people are used to the sound of triggers... and thats why the change in dynamic is strange-sounding to a lot of people

  • I like the part at 2:15

  • nice groove man
