  • "we hand not had dealings with the dwarves since the dark days" guess the elves are still kinda pissed because of the first sack of doriath and that little issue of thingol's death

  • Gimli is my favorite character in the movie ... a proud Dwarf XD very funny ^^

  • hmm.. GIMLI PUT THE FREAKING HELMET ON!!!!!

  • Gimli was better in the book, he wasn't so arrogant, much more courteous and civilised. He was amusing in the movie though.

  • Gimli didn't do nothin' like that-.. XD Exactly.

And they were totally blindfolded-- Which was Gimli's only problem. XDD

  • In the book they make gimili put a blind fold over his eyes

  • Why's gimli look so fucked up?

  • @ApprenticeJim Haha xD he's not wearing his helm :p

  • it'is excurly a miracale that they let gimli into their forest i gues they only did it because legolas is the prince of mirkwood

  • I really think there should have been more Haldir in both the movie and book. His character was probably one of the best I've ever read in a book like The Lord of the Rings.

  • Was Gimli speaking in Dwarvish-tounge?

  • @essexbred1986 I think it's Elvish, unless Aragon knows the Dwarf language as well, he wouldn't've made a comment to Gimli... but just taking a guess...

  • They should have left this scene in because a. there's not enough Haldir in the movies as it is and b. it shows the side of Boromir that hasn't been twisted by the ring

  • I found out* doing the happy dance*

He said I spit upon your grave.

    Well that was mean (T ^ T)

  • What did gimli say to haldir?

  • @2152nicole he said "I spite upon your grave"

  • AWESOME!! =)

  • Does anyone else think that having boromir would be the best big brother ever?

  • Between this scene and the one that precedes it there should have been another scene where the orcs of Moria catch up to them but the Lorien elves shoot them down. I know this scene was filmed because some of it appeared in at least one trailer. Why hasn't this scene make it in the extended edition? I would very much like to see it. Anyone know where?

  • @CulinVlau its in my extra extended edition

  • GIMLI LOOKS HILARIOUS WITHOUT HIS HELMET!

  • eww ugly gimli

  • Gimli sude have just said 'F U atleast i don't die in this movie'

  • Boromir, ftw. I actually think it would be interesting to see what would have happened if Tolkein had not decided to kill him off, at least not until later in the series

  • @georgedownswheeler Tolkien originally intended for him to live. (In a very early stage of writing when he didn't even know yet if the Rohirrim are good or evil.) One possible scenario was Boromir would become jealous of Aragorn when they reached Minas Tirith and turn against him. However, this was before Tolkien has developed any of the characters, before Boromir become the noble man he was.

  • @TheDragonBites sam's the most easily related to character. Unlike Sam, Boromir is practically a Gondor noble and is one with particularly great standing. Sam is merely a gardener. Frodo may be a hobbit as well, but he is Bilbo's heir, basically making him a "hobbit noble".

  • @TheDragonBites funny... that exact comment was a top rated one on a different lotr video... anyways, am i the only one thinking this? GIMLI WITHOUT A FUCKING HELMET!

  • Haldir doesnt die in the books, doesnt he?

  • @AlbertoDeSagitario He's not mentioned after he guides them to Lothlorien. Peter Jackson used the appearance of the elves at the Battle of the Hornburg (or Helm's Deep as it's called in the movies, which is the ravine the fortress behind it afaik), to represent the sacrifices of the elves in their final days in Middle Earth. The only elf there is Legolas, otherwise. The elves of Lothlorien are assaulted by the forces of Mordor, but its out of the movie's narrative, much like the Battle of Dale.

  • @paulmewis Ahhhh I see, thanks a lot...if I remember in the times of LOTR the elves had constant raids from the orcs also in Mirkwood too right? and dwarves had their own issues too or am I wrong?

  • @AlbertoDeSagitario Well, the battle of Dale is a battle heavily involving the dwarves. Gollum was imprisoned in Mirkwood for a time, and escaped in an orc raid. Mirkwood was one of the three major targets in the Northern theatre, one being the Men of Dale and the dwarves in the lonely mountain and the other being Lothlorien.

  • @paulmewis Oh thanks a lot of the information, there were some things I could not remember, thanks!

  • Haldir should say Celeborn like " Seleborn" , not " Keleborn" I think...

  • @TheGirlstar99 In the elvish tongue, (Sindarin OR Quenya) all 'C's" are prounounced with an "S' sound. It's explained in the appendix's. So don't feel bad, because a lot of poeple don't read them.

  • @TheGirlstar99 hmm, all "C's" are pronounced "K" actually. See how they pronounce Cirith Ungol, Caras Galadhon.

  • @TheGirlstar99 Actually, it is pronounced "Keleborn". I was surprised, too.

  • lol, gimli said kiss my ass

  • @TheDragonBites

He's also the most understandable because he is GREEDY like most of us.... he has vain hope that the ring can be used for good, but really he just wants its POWER because he thinks he can master it. Silly human LOL.

  • You have to understand something Boromir never wanted to come on this adventure in the first place.

  • @MrAwesome898 I feel bad for Boromir. This is the only thing I can say for I'm overwhelmed. :'(

  • @MrAwesome898 It shows in a flashback on the extended edition of The Two Towers. He only went because his father forced him to.

Plus, Boromir's father is an asshole.

  • this part after gandalf fall on moria right?

  • @MsYaoifan2010 Yes.

  • they should have kept that bit in, it showed boromir in a way that is more befitting of how he is portrayed in the books.

  • You can totally tell how left out Legolas is feeling. He's literally pouting in a corner right now.

  • Words of wisdom, Ned Stark n__n

  • if you have noticed Legolas has only one line conversation with Frodo throughout the whole movie. Despite them being together for most part in the first movie

  • The look on Frodo's face when Haldir says "You bring great evil with you." makes me laugh. You can just hear his thoughts. "Shut up bitch, you think I don't know that?!"

  • Lol! Rotfl!!!! Great scene! The city looks like a huge ant hill!!! Haha :D

  • I love Sean Bean's northern accent saying "frodo".

  • Wow! Gimli looks realu different without his helmet on. This is the first time I haven't seen him wearing it

  • Gimil say "I'll spit on your grave." not very nice word......he so funny do. :-)

  • Wow. I did not imagine Lothlorien to look like a huge anthill in the middle of the forest.

  • I kinda wish this scene would have been included, it explained how Legolas was a prince to those who haven't read the book, and who's his father for The Hobbit.

  • pretty sure Gimli said something about Haldir's mother...

  • @DreamsofCentaurs LMAO for realz, he itemized that shit 1) Frizzy hair (fighting words for elves), 2) her big ass, 3) she can't cook worth shit, 4) she smells like me, 5) she lays like a poorly woven rug which is kinda sad considering the regularity with which she does it.

Aragorn is like "Oh Jesus, he's gonna kill us..."

  • damn i really need to buy the extended versions of these movies lol

  • I knew Darken Rahl escaped from the Underworld.

  • I love Haldir AND Legolas <3

  • Thanks for uploading! Haldir ^^

  • what's up with gimili's hair?

  • What Gimli said?

  • @InfernumThe something to the effect I spit on your grave.

  • I fooking love Gimli!

  • The extended edition is better than the theatrical one. Shame that many people haven't seen it.

  • Wait, I'm confused. How does Haldir know Frodo bears the ring? Can he hear Galadriel farspeaking too?, or did Aragorn tell him?.

  • @landolashes

Maybe cause he's elvish? Isn't it possible that elves feel the danger, the "black magic", the evil of the ring?

  • Why Gimli looks so friggin fugly?

  • god i fucking hate elves

  • i wanna live in lorién......

  • He reminds me of Gilthanas from the Dragonlance chronicles xD

  • Gimli: I spit on your grave. :D (that's what he says in dwarvish language)

  • @pijlenboog23 thank u some one translates

  • @pijlenboog23 thanks for translate

  • Man, the lighting in this scene is splendid, especially when Boromir talks to Frodo. Just awe-inspiring,

  • What was REALLY CUT:...

Aragorn:...".But Haldir, our Fellowship is in desperate need of your protection, food and lodging."

Haldir: "the hell it's the middle of the god-damn night, what does this look like? the Holiday Inn?"

Gimli: "So much for the courtesy of the Elves"

Haldir rolls his eyes. OK, Fine,. here's the deal... ten gold coins and we cavity search the Dwarf .

    Fellowship: DEAL!

    Gimli: HUHHHH???!!!

  • @landolashes But who would want to cavity search Gimli?

  • the white lady, galandriel of Noldor

  • the white lady, galandriel of Noldor

  • whatcha didn't hear was this?

Aragorn: *in elvish* please is there anything we can do for you to get past?

Haldir: *in elvish* how about a few mintues to couple with the elvish maiden you have with you? *points to legolas*

Legolas: *turns his head* say what?

    Aragorn: *elvish* it's a deal.

  • "Heart of the Elvendom on Earth".

    Wait.

    Does that mean that...

    Oh my god.

  • "Mae govannen, Legolas Thranduilion"

    I LOVE THRANDUIL! xD

Why did they never mention him, when Thranduil actually kept Smeagol?

  • @maaneblomme Ah, someone else loves Thranduil too. I can't wait to see him the Hobbit. And they casted such a fine actor to play him. :)

  • @Feanorielle YEAH! :D How can people not love him (Yeah how? LOL)...

Have you read Fan fics about him? They are so cute (some) and smexii (some others xD)

In fan fiction net you can find a whole series about Legolas and Thranduil. xD :D :D :D

    the author is evendim ;)

  • @maaneblomme I like Thranduil because he's all grumpy and edgy, but it's because of his traumatic and difficult life, and underneath it he's a really kind, goodhearted guy. And Legolas (in the books) is such an adorable youthful and cheery princeling. ;) Yeah I've read quite a lot of Tolkien fanfiction, and there's lots of Thranduil in there. However, too many fanfiction authors bash Thranduil and turn him into a monster to make Legolas all angsty. XD

  • @Feanorielle Yes, I hate it :O They can't analyze him if they make him evil. It's because of the dwarves in Doriath that he became like that. And I truly believe that he is good hearted. He only wants to protect his people. (+ they had to move three parties, what would any person do, if it happened to them, right?).

About Legolas, yeah, I remember laughing quite a lot when he said he was going to find the sun, and ran away xD So cute... :)

  • @Feanorielle

And I'm writing a fic where Legolas' mother is ruining everything because she's mental... Thranduil get played with.

  • Holy crap. no wonder they cut this seen. gimli looks really weird without his helmet on.

  • @MrProutyboy he doesn't look so uglt on the other 2 movies

  • Well...they technically didn't cut all of this part out...the bit when Sam, Merry and pippin turned to look at Frodo was part of the 'vision' that Frodo saw in the pool, was it not? :)

  • someone should make a porno called THE LORD OF THE COCK RINGS starring DILDO VAGINS ...I mean no disrespect,I'm a huge fan of the lord of the rings...

  • what did gimli say? in translation?

  • @kathen111

"Ishkhaqwi ai durugnul." = 'I spit upon your grave'

    ishkhaqwi 'I spit'

ai prep. 'upon', reduced form of aya

    durugnul 'your grave'.

  • "You carry a heavy burden Frodo. Don't carry the weight of the dead."

    :(

  • Hang on. I thought Gimli had long hair. here I cant see it.

  • Eala Earendel engla beorhtast

    ofer middangeard monnum sended.

  • Yeah I really agree

  • Gimli is saying: ishkakui ai durugnul . Which means i spit on your grave

  • @DataOnNaruto thats fucked up since he dies at helms deep with gimli.

  • @DataOnNaruto oh thanks i have been looking for that

  • What is Gimli saying?

  • @Ingunius something NAUGHTY :P

  • Love it when Legolas speaks Elvish! Wish he had more lines. :(

  • @Livvy24601 Yeah... Hey, if you wanna read some REALLY good LotR Fan fics with Legolas and his father Thranduil, then you should go to FanFiction . Net and find the author ellisk.

All her "Interrupted Journey" stories are about them, and they are like... FANTASTIC! xD Legolas is too cute.

  • look at 1:52 it doesnt look like frodo

  • In my opinion, the extended edition should have been the only edition. It's so much better.

  • @SamSoundtrack

    Absolutely agree.

  • what the hell is wrong with Celeborn?

  • @Friendsheyho it's not celeborn there, but haldir.

  • haladir isnt refering to frodo when he says 'you can go no further' hes talking about gimli, aragorn tries to convinve haladir to let the dwarf in

  • @andrewstheman How can you tell? Tt seemed like it was because of Frodo and the ring

  • @babyshady018 The Special Extended DVD Collection just like how Star Wars did theirs in 2004

  • everyone looks behind them like: WHAT WHERE >.<

  • For all of you wondering what Gimli said, A rough translation is:

    "I spit upon your grave!"

  • Aragorn knows everybody.

  • @powerman923 That's because he's 92 years old.

  • @GPazosL Eighty-seven.

  • Ewoks!!!?

  • Ewoks!!!

  • Their faces are so stricken when they look at Frodo, as if it's all his fault!!! Aragorn is amazing, my fave out of all of them.

  • I want to know what Gimli said in Dwarvish...

  • Haldir is best

  • So, this is why when you read fanfictions, they represent Haldir as an ass lol no matter, he and Legolas are still my fave's

  • This sucks - at least 2 minutes without an explosion or fight! At least they got the elves right. Gloomy, dull, and sinister.

  • This sucks - at least 2 minutes without an explosion or fight! At least they got the elves right. Gloomy, dull, and sinister.

  • gimli looks funny and borimir is really nice

  • gimli looks funny

  • I love Lord of the Rings so much ever since my Dad first showed me the Two Towers when i was about 8 in 2006.

  • OH MY GOSH!

Galad means light in Sindarin, and the Lady of Light is GALADriel!

    I just got that!!!

  • it really annoys me that Legolas never gets anything to say, it's always " aragorn this" and " aragorn that"....... LEGOLA IS THE ELVEN ONE!

  • @Falaffull he says quite a bit more in the book.

  • @MySymptom I know!!!! The only upside to him in the film is he's cute and you can still see him there. In the book he has to say or do something for you to remeber that he's there!

  • and hes pretty. ^^

  • That's because elves are a pure race and don't really care about recognition. They are pretty much interceders like the Valar and -lesser- Mair/Ainu.

  • Peter Jackson shouldn't had delete all his scenes because it would've been helpful to understand the movie more like this one because I didn't understand why Gimili was really harsh on Elves at first.

  • dwarves and elves are my faveroute races in middle earth. dwarves are tough and fat, elves look like faggots but they're good and fast fighters with bows

  • I have no idea what Gimli just said to Haldir, but I'm pretty sure there were words in there that weren't appropriate at all! Lol

  • I think the translation is "I spit upon your grave" or something along those lines. Not polite...

  • Haldir was great i did NOT like the elves (aside from legoles) untill i saw haldir i dont think he shouldve died =C

  • "you bring great evil with you" no shit sherlock.

  • @Lynn15 lmao

  • ha ha! Somebody didn't get his beauty sleep last night. Feisty Gimli, I like :)

  • gimli looked a lil bit diffrent

  • he's not wearing his helmet :).

  • Do you know somebody Dwarwes language??What spoke Gimli???:)))

  • Couldnt help but think of the cheesy 80's band "Nelson" when these dudes show up. Hahaha

  • no, Thranduils people are the elves of Mirkwood they are in Lorien not Mirkwood

  • Many of the Lorien Elves were Silvans (Thranduil's people), but presumably a good number of the older ones were Sindar (Celeborn's people) or Noldor (Galadriel's people), and these dominated, so the cultures were pretty different.

  • I like seeing Boromir as more of a sympathetic and kind character. They should have left this scene in.

  • @Cocarat206 True. Would have made his fall to the ring much more epic and, possibly, more unexepecting to those who hadn't read the books. Length wise, the scene is long and a little boring. But, it is an alright scene.

  • @Cocarat206 i liked boromir. he gave his life defending th fellowship to make up for lettng the ring corrupt him.

  • @Cocarat206 I agree. Then it wouldn't just be like "Oh well, he's dead." XD

  • @Ceraedin In the books, he -is- a very good man who was just led astray by forces beyond his control. I cringed when I heard idiodic people who didn't read the books calling him one of the bad guys after watching this movie.

  • @Cocarat206 Yeah. The movie portrays him more as a bad guy, which bothered me too. After Boromir passed, Aragorn seemed like he lost somebody that he knew well. If Boro was such a bad guy, why would Ara be so reverent? XD

  • @Cocarat206 yup. i agree with you. i just got the book fr my birthday a few months ago and after reading the part where Boromir died, I was crying too. He was actually really kind and valiant :(

  • I want to know what gimli said!

  • Comment removed

  • To thijs674,

I might be wrong but I remember reading somewhere that what he said was "I spit on your grave."

  • "Ishkhaqwi ai durugnul!" - "I spit upon your grave."

  • and how do u know that?

  • I did a search :p

  • True :p

  • Hmm that's suppose to be Khuzdul right? Well that's pretty strange because the dwarves kept their language a secret, and did not teach it to others (it's only mentioned a few times in Tolkien's writings). So how the script-writers came up with that I don't know.

  • They must have made it up to add to the hostility they had between each other. It would only make sence

  • actually in the books the Dwarves didnt really like the Elves:)

  • I know i mean the adding of the language and aragorn telling him what he just said was worse. That doesn't make sence either since the dwarves didn't teach their language to anyone.

  • Aaaaw! Poor Frodo got Nigeled :(

  • lolll

i thought the galadhrim were of the same silvan elves as those in Mirkwood, they just colonised in Lothlorien and are named differently coz theyre under Galadriels rule

  • they're of the same race, but they are placed in different lands. Thranduil moved north, and Legolas is his son, and mirkwood & thranduil's palace are seperated by a pretty large amount of land, which is probably why they don't know each other that well.

  • I spit on your grave.

  • "You can go no further"

    Frodo: " -_- "

  • The forest is called Lothlórien, not Lorien

  • it`s also now how lorien dude1!!!
