  • All these years I remembered this song. Faint, moving, but who was it singing? Now I Know. Thanks.

  • Just awesome. Thank you for posting.

  • In this picture she looks a lot like Jane Krakowski from 30 rock!!

  • I'm getting goosebumps listening to this. :)

  • Beautiful Eyes. :)

  • my wife and I are currently watching all of the winder years episodes together. We both grew up watching and loving this show. Now, many years later I love it for all the reasons that this show was popular. As we grow up and older I can't help but feel the true emotion behind songs like this, shows like the wonder years, and the messages they deliver.

  • this is best version of the song.

  • This IS a case where the cover blows the doors off the original. Judy does the absolute definitive reading of this Beatles chestnut. She perfectly captures the reflective, looking-back quality of the lyrics. The understated backing and vocals give more punch to the lyrics.

  • here are places, I remember,

all my life though some have changed

    some forever, not for better

some are gone, and some remain

all these places have their meanings

with lovers and friends I still can recall,

some are dead and some are living...

in my life, I've loved them all.

    Awesome song!

  • I'm a Beatles fan and saw them in NYC in '63. I agree with others that Judy does an awesome job with the song, and I introduced it to my repertoire after hearing her sing it.

  • First heard this song in 1965 by the Beatles. Then Judy aced them with her rendition. She gave soul to this song.

  • THE WONDER YEARS :(

  • jeepers creepers them is some beautiful peepers

  • A beautiful song written and Judy Collins sings it so perfect.Very powerful!!!!!

  • The Wonder Years. Good Memories brought me here.

  • I heard this a couple weeks ago as well on a Wonder Years episode. Went thru a few tissues. This has always been my favorite Beatles song but Judy's version is magical. It evokes such emotion. Great singer, great song, great TV show!

  • A beautiful song. A lady with lov in her voice. Me could sleep in the sweetness of her eyes. Atsawaytodoit!

  • tears and no more than tears of joy when I remember you Lina Maria

  • I love this song. its hard to listen to it, because it was played at my uncle funeral, and i miss him a lot. i really wish i knew him better.

  • I've noticed on Youtube that of all the covers of this song, the softer ones are often compared as equal or superior to the Beatles' original. I think it's the lack of drums... the beat in the original version detracts from the lyrics in my opinion.

  • Simply one of the most beautiful recordings of all time. Judy Collins has a simple grace and it shines through on this lovely song. I think it's one of the best meldings of talent ever.

  • Judy Collins,The Beatles,Bette Midler & the myriad of other vocalists who've performed this song have each brought something to the lyrics. For me though Julie Covington should also get a strong vote of appreciation. Her rendition is powerful & evocative.

  • Yes... !!! This is the definitive In my Life. As I told Jamie238 here, its one of my favorite songs ever... and hold it in high regard !!! I really love this song..... its about "my life" in many respects.... and as you put it... This song is simply magnificent !!!! I couldn't agree more.... greetings from Sweden.

  • thank you.

  • Oh, my god, what a beautiful version of one of the most wonderful songs ever written!!! I can't believe I actually like this one as much as the Beatles'.

Her voice is always so serene and beautiful...

  • A poignant song for all time; beautifully sung as long as its from the heart--I love Judy Collins and the Beatles doing it...Music Icons.

  • Beautiful voice and arrangement, but still not on par with the Beatles.

  • surely, the best version for that music !

  • I love Judy's voice and Judy's eyes, and this song but the Beatles version is better.

  • boy what a great version, have to admit this is tough to decide which version is better and i'am a huge beatles fan.........

  • wonder years, man.

  • hey jamie238, wow, i also first heard this cover of in my life while watching "the wonder years" 5 or 6 years ago, yeah, i have to agree with you, the emotion, as you said, of the song hits you, i was even moved to tears, i could somehow relate with the show even if I grew up in the late 90s (and the show was set in the 70s).

LOVE THIS VERSION OF "IN MY LIFE!" i also like The Beatles.

  • lennon was about 23 when he wrote this,un believable, wot a song, yes probably the best ever written.like youkenzowal, when i heard her sing it my eyes just filled, but that waz 2 weeks ago, not in 66, and i was around.we had the greatest music..............

  • Possibly one of the more obscure and not as popular of the Beatles' many songs, yet it is my favorite; every single person who has lived, can relate to the life's experiences that this song speaks to. While it can bring tears to one's eyes, there is a certain sense of tranquility derived by hearing it.

  • Somewhere a leaf is gently falling to the ground......somewhere a daisy is moving in the breeze...somewhere a mother is remembering her child...somewhere..someone is humming In My Life.....

  • I'm 64 now and remember this song from my lost & misspent youth. There are so many people I knew who meant so much...now they are gone like the song says, some are dead and some are living...I loved them all.

  • I like the Beatles more then Judy Collins but man her version of this song is simply flawless! Much better then the Beatles version in my opinion. I first heard it on an episode of the Wonder Years where Kevin was reminiscing of his memories with Winnie and the emotion of the song hits you so hard and just melts your heart. So powerful. So beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes.

  • @Jamie238 I agree entirely, like you I like the Beatles, but this is THE version :-) and its one of my favorite songs.... I would like to say ..my favorite of all time... but as we know... there are now absolutes in personal taste... everything changes... but I do hold this song and version in high regard !!! Thanks !!!

  • @Jamie238 THE WONDER YEARS BEST SHOW EVER!! :(

  • I wish that this version did not alter that iconic guitar riff. It is a signature part of this song. Also, Judy sings, "meanings" when she should have sang, "memories." Though, I must admit that Judy's voice on this song is downright haunting...

  • Credit also to Bruce Langhorne on the beautiful accompaniement/solo - a great, under-recognized acoustic genius.

  • THE best version. Period. Sweet, sweet Judy blue eyes.

  • Great singer, the soul of John is in yours, you are so sweet, bat you eyes... tha´ts so beautifuls... I was looking for you, who sings the song of beatle John, that´s the song of the wondwr years. Thank you beautiful eyes!!!! from Peru with love. Ivan.

  • Wonderful.

  • @TheG3rardo I just checked out her singing it live in 2009 I heard the 66 live version but this 2009 version is so touching... so emotional :)

  • better the original version of the Beatles

  • Yes, this is the definitive In My Life. Even better than the Beatles original on the album Rubber Soul. Thousands feel this is the finest song ever written in the English language. I had 'heard' the Beatles sing it dozens of times, but when I HEARD Judy's version on the radio coming home from work, the tears just started flowing and I had to pull over and stop the car. It's full impact hit me for the first time. This song is simply magnificent.

  • @KENZOWAL I totally agree with you. Thanks for this.

  • @KENZOWAL yes......yes.....and yes

me too......same story, tears and all

  • @KENZOWAL I agree this is the definitive version of the song. I also heard Judy Collins sing it in 1987 at her 25th anniversary concert in Carnegie Hall as a final encore and will never forget that rendition, as well as the concert itself.

  • @KENZOWAL i agree with everything you said

  • This is a wonderful version of the song. My mother was a huge fan of Judy Collins when I was a child and played this album constantly. It was years later that I heard the Beatles original. I still find this version personal and poignant.

  • reminds me of the wonder years :(

  • Such a wonderful song, thank you very much.

  • Great song done by the one and only Judy Collins! Thanks for posting!

  • Great Site and videos cheers

  • What a Beautiful song to Dedicate, my prayers and thoughts.. Love, Pal, Bob.
