  • man i dont get it why people say nitro is fuel-nitro is a coolant ffs!

  • idk what fuel your using but my traxxas top fuel 20% doesent foam at all

  • my car is like spitting out stuff... like oily stuff. i dont think im running it rich but like u can be running it for a while and put ur hand by the exhuast and all kings of oil stuff gets all over ur hand.. like idk wats wrong. im running 20%

  • @mx886

That's what it's supposed to do. The fuel has caster oil and probably some synthetic in it. If your not getting any spatter at all, then your running way lean. If you put a paper towel by the outlet when it was running, you should get a decent spray of oil coming out.

  • hey is the trinity fuel that you have in the video any good? im looking at the 20% fuel with 12% oil content for my savage x bashing truck. Would this be a good fuel to run in it or is the oil content too low? im running a picco p3 .28 btw. Thanks in advance.

  • @SavageRC1

It's ok, but I proffer byrons. Less caustic of fumes and generally runs better. I ran trinity for quite a few years, but have been running byrons 25% (11% oil I think) for the past 2 or 3 years and really like it. I tried it because my LHS sold it at about $9 less per gallon when the "nitro crisis" was going on. Now I seek it out.

  • if air stales the fuel do what they do to everything else. find nitrogen gas and inject it into your fuel containers where u want to keep the fuel for long periods... i dont even know if u can by nitrogen but thats what they use in chemicals where i work. they have a name fer chemicals that react when exposed to air. we have drums u DO NOT open till u r ready to use cause they have a BLANKET of notrogen gas. nitrogen is heavier than common air so its easy to use if u can get it...

  • I have had a fuel bottle for more than a year and still ran fine all my Rc cars. Just do like others, cover it from light, do not place it on the floor, keep it covered with a towel etc, it will last forever.

A good thing to do is to transfer it to a smaller container, the less air on the bottle the better.

  • Hey, how can you tell if your 20% nitro fuel has went stale? I put some in my truck and it still runs. but it dies after 5 - 10 mins.

  • @sweetdude1973 pore some out in a safe area and light it and see if it burns up pretty fast and clean if not it is bad. oh and after you get fuel out of what ever you are keeping it in try to get as much air out of it as posible cuz the air is what stales the fuel

  • @sweetdude1973

Sounds more like your tune is off. Running too lean will cause it to heat up and start stalling on you. With old fuel, the engines generally run poorly, all the time. It's not something that requires time running. Heat requires time, which is why I'd suggest your running a bit lean.

  • @olds97lss

thats not true pal runing lean makes it run cooler it say always run a new rc engine lean why do you think peaple run it lean you can run a car supper lean and it will stil run cool its wierd how it works but this is why some engine like a 30% nitro mix because the engine runs alot cooler than the 20% and 15% mix because of the oil content in it

  • Morgan fuel already has anti foam and after run oil in the blend..

  • Helli's use a separate foaming tank to prevent fuel line foam.some dont use it.

  • so the effects are what??? sorry dint quite get the point ov this vid

  • @CRAFTYCARPER84 ,, so there u go a waste ov time effort and armor all, lmfao it does jack shit apart from contaminate the fuel and dilute its nitro percentage

  • @CRAFTYCARPER84

    me too

  • That would make sense as I believe one of it's "mystery oils" is silicone based.

  • WD40 works just as well Ive been told.

  • hey good tip every time you re fuel your RC car shake the bottle like that guy is

  • me i like use 20% work it really what works for u if 15% works for use it. If 33% work for u use it. if put armor on ur fuel work for u do it.

  • what does that do exactly?

  • Most RC fuels, when shaken, create a foam. This also happens in the fuel tank due to the vibrations of the engine or the jostling of the vehicle when driving.

The foam can cause excess air bubbles to get into the intake line into the carb causing poor running.

Armor all helps eliminate the foam.

  • Thats why fuel tanks have the fuel line coming from the bottom, so that the bubbles/ foam stay at the top. If you have alot of bubbles in your fuel line you might have an air leak.

Proably in the fuel filter [If you have one], or fuel tube

  • Are you really suggesting that THIS is the reason that the fuel line is coming from the bottom of the tank?...... Like there could be ANY OTHER way that it could work?....

  • Well ok..Many fuel tanks have a built in "air stone" that reduces the effects of bubbles.

Also bubbles rise away from the fuel lines anyway. I've only ever had air bubbles in my fuel lines once and that was because I had a gap between my fuel line and fuel filter.

  • No that's not what I meant.... The reason the fuel lines come out the bottom of the tank is that there is nowhere else they could come out of!

I mean how would you suppose the fuel would be sucked into a line coming out the top of the tank? Are you going to talk it into it? lol :-)

  • Good Point. When I Said "Well ok.." I was agreeing with you. Then I moved on to another reason regrading my point

  • oh ok. got it. Sorry. :-)

  • my fuel line comes from the top corner and it worksfine

  • You're fuel TUBE comes from the top of the tank but the fuel LINE sucks out the bottom of the tank!

My Kyosho's tank has the silicon tubing coming out of the top but inside the tank there is a tube going from the top to the bottom of the tank to the fuel filter wich is ALWAYS on the BOTTOM of the tank! There simply is NO OTHER WAY for the fuel to go into the tube. It's simple physics. It just CAN NOT get any simpler than this..... It's cold gravity ;-)

  • traxxas fuel has never worked good for me, I use Byron's gen 2 or Rocket science 20% with my OS .12TZ in a GT2. I run about 210-220 all day and don't have to mess with the tune much. With traxxas fuel I was chasing a tune all day because of the high oil content 12% oil is all you need. I'd be interested to see the ingredients of armor all, I bet #1 is water which would be bad for an engine

  • I don't care for traxxas fuel... to much oil. I run byrons 25% with 12% oil.

Neither the Traxxas 20 or 33 is better than the other as far as quality. The 33 gives you more power, but costs more and has a narrower tuning window for proper temps. You may also have to add shims to your head since most RTR engines are made to run 15%-25% nitro.

  • idragonheart in my hobby store they still have 33% top fuel

also tell me what fuel is better traxxas 20% or 33%?? please reply

  • nothing is better than traxxas

  • no you have it all wrong nothing is better that Team Associated

  • Losi!!!

  • is the fuel as good after that ?

Good tip to remove foaming :)

  • Yep. Been doing it for about 8 years.

  • hey dude how long does it take nitro fuel to stale ? thanks i want to know because my nearest rc store is 1 minute away walking and its going to close down and they are selling 20% nitro 2 gallons for 5 bucks and need to know so i can buy like 6 gallons for my whole summer so i can save money to buy more parts for my jatto

  • If you keep it in a place that is constant temp above freezing, out of direct sunlight and off of a concrete floor, it will keep just fine for months.

I bought 3 gallons around October of last year and it still burns just fine.

  • like 50 degrees farenheit or below 0 si can leave it in my room

  • well its been 3 months now so there probley closed by now but as long as its properley sealed i should not go bad. ive had a gallon for 2 years. and it still works.

    (i dont race much)

  • the fuel is good it works perfectly still

  • Lucky!!!!!! That's awesome, I'd buy them out =P

  • @damanisdakila 5 dollars for 2 gallons?? how much is nitro fuel usually? cus i went up to my local hobby shop and they had a quart for 16 dollars

  • @mixmaster82 it was on sale becuase they were closing down the shop sorry for late response

  • @mixmaster82 $35-$40

  • if ya want better performance out of the fuel you should buy ZX-1 FRICTION eliminator. A certain % in the fuel job done. I use it in all my engines Motorcycle Car etc. aswell as my sirio .21 and novarossi engines, it prolong the life and gives more power.

  • did thay stop makeing traxxas top fuel 33%

  • yeah its to high % of nitro but it runs better

  • now since there is a shortage of nitromethane ant my hobby store it is 55 a gallon

  • do you have to mix it with real gasoline?

  • how much does that fuel cost

  • Around $25 a gallon. Lasts a few weeks worth of running frequently in the summer.

  • Be careful! Armor All is in emulsion containing mainly water and silicone among other things. The silicone seems to take care of the foam, but the water might cause a problem. I think you might be better off with a petroleum-based silicone product.

  • he only used 2 tiny sprays. i don't think that tiny bit of difference will affect the performance at all.
