  • Many years ago I ordered copies of original plans for the Demoiselle from Popular Mechanics (as I recall) and they arrived in the mail quite promptly!

  • and an engine of 12Hp never would keep a flight of 25 miles. Today the TV of U.S.A. shows the flight of 04/09/1908 as if it was the 1903 flight. Liars.

  • The Wrights had never flied before 1908. When going France had known that the engine of the 14Bis ones was of 50Hp and had changed the engine of the Flyer. Those fans did not know that Weight x exists a relation Power. The results alone had come in 1908 with the new engine. It did not have record of flight in 1905, the Flyer weighed 340 kilos (according to given of the Whights),

  • Sorry - you just could not be more wrong. And there is lots of documentary evidence to support the fact you are wrong.

  • Forget about the Wright's "Flyers" or Dumont's 14-Bis: - The first CONTROLLED airplane was "The Demoiselle", invented by Santos Dumont. That's really matter !!!!

  • sorry Santos. You were a distant 2 or 3. Your first real powered flight 3 years AFTER Wright Bros.

  • what a simple, elegant machine.one only needs to look at it to know how it works.
