now if only there was a reissue of Artfire... with Twincast and Soundblaster reissued...again,sigh... and Richochet/Stepper previously I still have some hope for him and RaiDen ..but he is pretty obscure... maybe one day... great review as always. Man I bet you are pretty pissed off about the CHMS Crazy Devy knockoff after the hard work and money you spent getting that set together...
It's funny you say you wanted Grapple as a kid. My brother was born in 1985 and that Christmas my parents had him with them when they did Christmas shopping for me, they showed him two TF's and he reached for Grapple, so that;s the one "he" got me. Cut to Christmas day and I get Grapple from him, my Grandma, My Aunt and Uncle on my Dad's side and my Aunt on my mom's side. Yep, I got 4 Grapples that Christmas lol
this guy has always interested me mainly because theres not much on him unlick sunstorm he hasnt appaerd since g1 i hope hasbro jumps on the ball and makes him a repaint of solarstorm grapple
nice figure. I won him on ebay. Paid the money, and the bastard didn't send my item. Ebay didn't do anything for me. Same thing happened with the Sunstorm i bought :(
very nice , always wanted one of these but could never find one for a good price. I always liked that he felt a bit like a big construction before there were any other homages to them. I seem to remember being younger and thinking that grapple used be a construction and then switching over to the autobots and getting a new paint scheme which I think would make a good story actually.
According to the G1 cartoon and the instruction sheet , the metal shoulder pieces remain in the position they were in at the beginning of the video but I think I've seen some videos with them positioned pointing upward in vehicle mode, I'm nut sure though.
@notgillcup I looked at the instruction sheet too. The metal pieces only have that articulation for the transformation process to temporarily give more clearance at the shoulders. You're supposed to swing those metal pieces "up" before you slide Grapple/Road Hauler's wrists off of the pegs. Then, you accordion the shoulders out to the side. After all is said and done, you swing the metal shoulder pieces back to normal position.
@wheeljack02 yeah i saw him the other week, unfortunatly we have just started trying to save to buy a house so i cant make any big purchases for the moment lol but knowing me........
I have a theory about the whole Grapple/Hauler debate. A lot of S1 characters were recoloured/remoulded to make new characters in Series Two (Trailbreaker - Hoist, Sideswipe - Red Alert). I think Grapple was intended for a S1 release (they obviously had the toy) but either the animators mucked the name up, or they decided to hold him back and release him with Inferno but the episode had already been made so they asked them not to include him again until S2. Just my thoughts!
@thecollector75 I've heard that the 1984 Autobot Cars case arrangement had 12 spaces, but 1984 had only 11 autobot cars. The twelth spot being filled with an extra Mirage, I speculate that the twelth spot was originally intended for a 1984 release of Grapple that for some reason got delayed.

@BigGigantos that sounds a good theory, prob the animators got it wrong, along with all the other hundreds of mistakes lol
