I'm a full fledge Gibson guy but I came really close to buying one of these about a year ago and I wish I had. It's a great guitar. Very comfortable and a plethera of tone settings.
This may tempt me from the Fender camp... I have a Tele Deluxe, and I was wondering if there was a similar model with a coil-tap feature. What do you think: this plus a Peavey Bandit 112?
@sha5aneef they have one with a bigsby... look up the Schecter Pete Dee Signature PT! it's gloss white with a rosewood neck, and i believe it has a mini humbucker and a humbucker
I'm a lefty and love the Fender Jim Root but since they don't make one to accommodate me would this thing shred some metal if I dropped in some EMG's?
love the part where he starts playing heartbreaker... anyone have this guitar? anyone know if its any good? i have a strat but im returning it pretty soon. the 60 cycle hum is annoying, it has TERRIBLE sustain, and overall it just sounds thin. i want something with more tone and more balls.... any ideas?
@ffguru15 i have had this guitar for a while and i have no complaints. the sustain is surprisingly really good good for a bolt on neck, the tone is great, and the overall playability is amazing. this is definitely a guitar i would recommend
I want the PT fastback it sounds awesome and the tonal variation sounds great... I really like the coil splitting, it makes the guitar really versatile
@morfoo well, you can get a good guitar for a low price and there are cheaper useable guitars on the market, but so far I haven't found one that does come even close to my PT. It even beats my epiphone Les Paul, and that's a limited edition handmade custom shop guitar which was twice as expensive.
But the newer version is even more versatile, with 2 volume 2 tones with coil tapping. Duncan Designed HB-102/FG-101 pickups. Am i correct that this is the newer one ?
The major downside of this guitar is the positioning of the pickup selector switch. You have to remain totally focused on just how far your picking hand strays, otherwise you've hit the switch in a second.
This would have been just perfect if the switch had been placed above the pickups instead of below.
I have this guitar and i love it! its universal instrument. great for country , blues, punk... but PT plugged in higain amp ist hardrock/metal machinegun.
Proguitarshop has got it figured out. Finally a guitarist with some range that isn't in a Fender or gibson video. I fucking loathe repeatedly running into some 19 year old with a hard on for distortion saturating that shit so much you could feasibly hook up a Rock Band plastic guitar next to a Les Paul with P's in it and not tell the fucking difference. Subbed and 5 stars automatically for having brains.
@ToneChaser4Life negative, originally by CCR, covered years later by Tina Turner. In case you're wondering, she also didn't do the original version of "The Acid Queen." That was written by this guitar's namesake. XD
The neck is very comfortable, but not even close to a Les Paul due to the longer scale. It is more like a Telecaster neck, but thinner and slightly wider.
I'm getting a guitar, and i'm willing to spend a maximum of 2500-3000 euro's on this (lats say it's 3250 dollars), would you say like: no dude, don't go out and buy a les paul or fender strat/ tele or whatever, there are way cheaper guitars and they are as good as the big names,
or are names like gibson/fender/... really the best?
please help, this is an issue i could save a lot of cash with
well dude... it really depends what kind of sound you're looking for. Schecter is a really nice guitar. And they are cheap compared to other brands. But there's also a reason why some people go for fender and gibson. They have a very characteristic sound, and you can get a lot of of classic and great tones from those guitars. So you can with other brands as well. I wouldn't go for Fender if you're looking for a metal guitar.
yeah i agree with punk9999 my favorite guitars are the old imported charvel model series (neck-thrus only though..).love schecters, fenders, some gibsons..
i say jackson U.S.A or custom shop if you want to spend a lot.
@metalheadneji i love it because i like the sound of a schecter but i love the feel of a tele, i own the Ultra III and a Squier Tele as my main guitars, its a battle for me to find which one to play. this may be the answer
That depends on how much you want to spend on a guitar, the pt has some things going for it, a great tone, coil splitting option, a very good factory setup, a very comfortable neck which is slightly wider then the one on a tele and it sells for about half the amount you have to invest in a tele deluxe. The tele deluxe ain't bad either, since you have independent volume and tone for each pickup, but only 21 frets and the large 70ies headstock, which I personally hate to see on a telecaster.
Am I the only one who completely hates that headstock? It looks like something out of a Sears catalog...this isn't a reissue of the PT/Saturn, at all. C'mon Schecter.
who ever says this cant do all styles of music is a fucking idiot, ive had this playing funk, blues, rock, hard rock, metal and death metal. i even had a set of 56's on it once and it sounded great
hey im lookin at this guitar i really dont like the neck though... is it possible to put an tele neck or a strat neck on this? PLease Respond with anything.
It might be possible. From what I know in my experience, a lot of necks would be easily interchangeable.
