  • Black Future is better, but Outer Isolation is solid no doubt.

  • to me, this was an eleven and also an eye opener. this was my first vektor album and my first thrash metal record. thank you needle drop for showing me this amazing and influencial band!

  • fuck this is real good tetrastructural minds that is

  • Vektor sucks a hot chicks ass which rules!

  • Since Vektor music style is so different from other bands, and they have sci-fi themes in there music, maybe we should name it a new kind of metal genre that people can use to identify this type of music. Since the music is progressive and black thrashish sounding, I dont its just a kind of metal that stands out like no other! Just imagine that, Vektor created its own genre!

  • @Mctallicaful471 the last thing we need is more sub-genres in metal...

  • @ihoustong Amen to that.

  • @soooophiaaaaaaaaa You're wrong. They often used dissonant harmonies (Black Metal), and blast beats (Black Metal). That's not to say they don't love Voivod or Sadus, but they're also Black Metal influenced as well. The tremolo picking sections? Like the verse in Accelerating Universe? Or the end of Destroying the Cosmos? Plenty of Black Metal influence. The vocals are also Black Metal influenced. They'll probably admit that they are BM influenced as well.

  • i still think Havok Time's UP is the best retro thrash metal since Testaments The Formation of Damnation

  • By any chance did you also write the review on encyclopedia metallum? They're extremely similiar.

  • @theneedledrop I hate the vocals of this band. Get rid of the vocalist and this band would be amazing!

  • @willabema maybe you are right but this means they need to get rid of the one guitarist also the frontman. Let them stay as is ;)

  • @TheFeanor06 Nah, they could just easily go for an instrumental sound. No vocals whatsoever. Or they can kick his ass out (the vocalist) and be a stunning, three-piece speed/thrash bulldozer.

  • @willabema Singer is also guitarist.

  • @willabema Think he's very good. It'll grow on you.

  • @arabianmetalhead99 I'm generally not listening to his vocals. I'm focused on the music. That's how I normally listen to metal anyway. It takes a really unique vocalist for me to care what they're singing about or how they sound.

  • @willabema Kick out the guy who wrote it all? Also, how does he sound anything like screamo? He sounds like screeching. Nobody has screeching vocals pretty much ever, and it sounds great when he does it. Have you heard the "World Destroyer" section of "Black Future"? That's talent that no one else possesses. By the way, if you don't like it, that's not going to change anything. Start your own band or live with it.

  • @Bassbait You're retarded and probably don't listen to too much of black metal. Screeching and shrieking are overdone in black metal. There's nothing unique about what this fool does. He should stick to guitar which is what he's really good at. His vocals sound more of emo too. Do away with the vocals and they should stick with being a technical thrash/speed metal band.

I have my own band so go a fuck a dick, faggot. True, his vocals won't change but I can comment on how shitty his vocals are.

  • @willabema His vocals are insane, im not a huge fan of harsh vocals but this guy is INCREDIBLE! really unique voice. to be honest, the vocals are the highlight of both albums, no matter how good the instrumentals are. how can you not love those epic screams that sounds like a space hawk.

  • @nadman14 Not to me. I'd rather listen to Tom Araya. Even black metal shrieks are better. Mortuus from Mardukcomes to mind.

  • @willabema ok, i respect your opinion. however as much as i love slayer, Tom Araya can be extremely generic and boring. i think after reign in blood he kinda lost it. i felt the vocals on SOH and SITA were disappointing with not enough punch to them. also Mortuus is one awesome BM vocalist. My fav BM vocalist is John Haughm from Agalloch even though they arent fully BM.

  • @nadman14 "as much as i love slayer, Tom Araya can be extremely generic and boring."

LOL! When? I guess you and I listen for different things in music. For the most part, vocals come secondary to me. Guitar, bass and drums are fundamental. South of Heaven and Seasons are their best work musician wise and vocally. Their production changed for the better and Slayer had a more bombastic sound. Love those albums equally as much as Show No Mercy onward!

  • @willabema oh no i have the same view. Vocals are secondary for me, i can usually get past bad vocals if the instrumentals are top quality stuff. I was just commenting on Tom Araya in general, i still love south of heaven and seasons in the abyss is probably after show no mercy my fav slayer album. and i fucking love Agalloch, beautiful, atmospheric music with meaningful lyrics. I can see why Ashes against the grain would appeal more to u cos its heavier but u need a good ear to appreciate them.

  • @nadman14 I don't have a good ear for crap. Sorry. LOL!

  • @willabema touche lol.

  • @nadman14 \m/

  • @nadman14 Agalloch sucks. Now that's just a boring band all around. I can tolerate some songs on "Ashes Against the Grain" but the rest is utter garbage.

    My opinion.

  • @willabema Totally agree. The concept, the art, the music is all great. But whyyyyyy with the vocals?

  • @kidwhocracked I know right? It almost borderlines "screamo" in sound. Either death metal grunts or black metal shrieking vocals will work for heavy/extreme metal but this guys vocals are just stupid.

  • @willabema i dont mind the vocals. But...im starting to get annoyed by the fact that people cant sing anymore...wish there was a new heavy, fast metal band with a great vocalist(that doesnt scream or growl).

  • @qu7aker You need to listen to old speed metal or power metal. Those bands have clean vocals. I'm not a fan of bands who do that style but I can respect it. Check out Blind Guardian or Powermad for example.

  • @willabema i love blind guardian and powermad lol. dont worry i listen to a lot of the old stuff. was just wishing that new bands would have singers with melodic voices or atleast to the point where you could understand them.

  • @qu7aker Not going to happen in death and black metal, my friend. Thrash/speed metal maybe but even those bands are adding shrieked vocals and death grunts to their music.

  • @willabema obviously but atleast in thrash and other subgenres that dont need harsh vocals. screaming your nuts off gets boring if every metal band is doing it.

  • @qu7aker fair enough. Good luck trying to find modern bands that have clean vocals.

  • @willabema there are quite a lot actually but in new thrash theres only evile.

  • @qu7aker Then what are you getting annoyed for if there's plenty of bands out there with clean vocals? Just listen to those bands with clean vocals..

  • @willabema im not annoyed i just stated that i want more THRASH bands to do less of the screaming and more of the clean singing.

  • @qu7aker "i dont mind the vocals. But...im starting to get annoyed by the fact that people cant sing anymore..."

  • @willabema omg your taking this to seriously chill the fuck out.

  • @qu7aker It's TOO seriously. Dude, you're fuckin' trolling! You need to chill the fuck out! Not every response I send you is worth replying to, okay? Do you get it? Your point has been made.

  • @willabema UMADBRO?

  • @qu7aker Are you retarded? Do you have a life? How about a job? How about a girl? Do you spend you entire days looking for bands with clean vocals instead of just enjoying the music?

  • @qu7aker Exactly.

  • @qu7aker How about listen to 3 Inches of Blood and get the best of both worlds?

  • @Bassbait i listen to them :)

  • @qu7aker Cool, because they're awesome and they've been "family friends" since they first started, when my dad saw them while they were still playing the most local of shows in America.

  • @Bassbait wow that must feel pretty cool lol. I got into them a few months ago and been loving um since.

  • @qu7aker Well I've only known them since their second album. They are really cool guys and play really cool music.

  • This band rules so much face

  • Vektor is one of the greatest live bands I've ever seen.

  • yah i really love the album. just wondering if you ever did Forever Abomination by Skeletonwitch?

  • Hmm, you gave black future a strong 9 and this a strong 8, even though you saw it as a step forward. GIVE IT A TEN BOY!

  • So, Black Future was Blackened Thrash? I think I'd like that more, but I'll look into them both. Thanks for reviewing something that wasn't Indie or HipHop. :P

  • @HoboStrangler Listen to Black Future first. It's a classic that transcends modern music in a way not many other albums do.

  • I like this album a lot, thanks for introducing me to Vektor AND Havok...I love Trash Metal, thats the only kind I like.

  • Wolf Gang - Suego Faults

Alcoholic Faith Mission - Ask Me This

  • Cloudkicker- Let Yourself Be Huge neext

  • I'm not one for thrash metal AT ALL. But I'll at least give credit where credits do, they know what they're doing, unlike 95% of the metal bands out there. Drummers sick too. It is pretty reminiscent of Castlevania haha, they should have done the soundtrack for the new one!

  • I love this band! Looking forward to picking up this album.

  • Action Bronson - Well Done

  • I do not like metal, its angry and I like happy and sad music, but not angry music, about the angriest thing i can listen to is Nirvana

  • @TsarCzar9 Type in "Animals as Leaders - CAFO". If you are an open-minded individual then you will listen and then report back with your opinion.

  • @UberCoolBen Is it close minded of me to say that I don't like that band? Because I honestly don't understand and can't stand the hype. If I want Prog, I'll listen to Vektor or Watchtower, where there's more things going on.

  • @Bassbait If you want "a lot of things going on" then listen to Shining, Psyopus, Behold.. the Arctopus and similar mathematical jazz-fusion metal type bands. Vektor, Watchtower etc are rather humdrum in comparison (as far as the sheer amount of constantly-produced interesting noise is concerned, at least). Type in "Shining - Healter Skelter" and enjoy. Noisy enough?

  • @UberCoolBen None of those are AAL. And I'll point out that mathematical music doesn't mean more's going on, and doesn't mean better music. If you want the most going on, you should listen to Devin Townsend's "Deconstruction". But for most mathematical, sure, those bands might be great, but I'm looking for songwriting prowess most of all, which Watchtower and Vektor tower over many bands for such.

  • @Bassbait I'm already a big fan of Devin Townsend. What you're stating is not fact, but merely opinion. As we all know and are well aware of; opinion is subjective when fact goes out of the equation. Besides, I'm a Vektor fan. Why are you attempting to argue with me anyway? My original post was aimed towards an entirely different individual (namely, TsarCzar9) with a negative viewpoint towards heavy music. I was attempting to ease him in with my recommendation of Animals as Leaders.

  • I live in Phoenix, and I have never heard of this band. Huh

  • Love this albummmmmmmmm

  • "This record just continues to define Vektor's style as a hyper-melodic, super dynamic, intergalactic space-thrash band." - stopped the video and went out and downloaded this band's discography immediately.

  • I love your swamp ass.

  • Morbid Angel - Illud Divinum Insanus

  • I gotta tell you Anthony, im open to all music genres from Electronica to Indie Rock. However, i just cannot get into Black/Death Metal. Its just screaming and overly fast paced "melodies", as short minded as that sounds. Im into bands that yell occasionally like At the Drive-in, Crystal Antlers, Crystal Castles, Bear vs. Shark. But Metal i find is just screaming. I hate it when you review metal IMO,

BTW can you review either Gold Panda- Companion or Real Estate- Days

    Please and Thank You!

  • @optimusprime0616 When you say you don't like a genre you should acknowledge the fact that it's just not your cup of tea. To say "Its just screaming and overly fast paced melodies" is pretty ignorant. When I hear metal I hear greatness. With a lot of indie rock I just hear soft mumbling over acoustic guitars but I still respect it cause I understand that to the people who listen to it probably hear much more in it and I just don't understand.

  • @RyNDonLE That's why i said in my opinion, but your point is valid.

  • Hey, does anyone have a good recommendation on Jazz music...? and I thank you for your response...

  • @phester061594452 check out lester young

  • @phester061594452 A good modern Jazz band is BADBADNOTGOOD in my opinion. check em out

  • WHY DO SO MANY METAL BANDS HAVE BAND NAME FONTS THAT ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO READ?! SERIOUSLY

  • @TaffyRaphie Because they look damn awesome!

  • @TaffyRaphie The logo is part of the band's artistic statement. I think many Metal band logos are quite interesting and often beautiful.

  • I want reviews for the new 311, Incubus and Blink 182 LPS!!!!!

  • @TheJoker3494 He said he won't review Blink. Watch his "You're Not Reviewing:" video. As for 311 & Incubus, it's been long enough to assume that he's not gonna review those either.

  • cock rock.

  • this actually reminds me of Cynic in some ways. I had never heard of this band before... my only gripe is that at time... sorry to say this, but it kind of sort of maybe reminds me of thefacelessblarghshniflarghfkjhfg ..no its not that bad. i promise. i think its just the production thats not my thing... but.. that disma album has grown on me big time
