Yeah, but there PERFORMING on a stage. My school had an "oscar night" once, and it was for all these differant kids who made movies, and we have "showcases" for stuff like this. My school would not be dumb enough to call stage stuff "OSCARS" this school must have a shitty theater program.

what was missing at all was the passion(well they had a bit at the acting parts)this particular part of chicago is full of passion,anger,feeling!they had any of them,they only tried to copy the movements and the acting style
it was really really good i know how hard it must be to practice and perform all that but the one thing i will say is that it needed more anger and passion and when u sort of do the really high like opera notes it just doesnt go the song is meant to be rough,angry and passionate and thats all that it lacked but other than that it was really really good :)

I think most of you guys are confused...this was done as an entertainment act during our Senior Oscar Night. They didn't do the entire musical, just this song. It was put together in about 5 days, and they did as much as they could, with administration restricting them quite a bit. Take it for what it is...a high school talent performance.
we did it at my drama group - in a small church hall, and we had a dance, all knew our lines, had guys who danced and were passionate. we lost the video, otherwise we would put it on here! and we didn't wear lingeree, but it still looked sexy etc! x x x x
I understand that high school versions of musicals like this have to be toned down a bit, but holy crap! It was like "Cell Block Tap Your Foot and Go Down on One Knee a Lot"! And I didn't believe that ANY of the girls could ever get angry enough to kill their lovers! The singing was great, but in all honesty, putting on a musical is about so much more than just singing. It's about putting together voice, movement, and emotion. I just didn't see that here.
Come on guys...Dancing? Wow. None of it. Voices would have been better if you actually sang with emotion. Cicero? come on. You sound bored. And no Hunyak? guessing you wern't talented enough to learn the lines.

Wow. I played Cicero at my school. You sounded bored, you all do and we didn't have a hunyak but we replaced it with a girl who knew her spanish and we sang AND danced. I DANCED the TANGO and SANG. We all had different additudes and made sure you could tell the differences. You need more energy.

Well, the singing sounds a little bit strange some parts and there are to few different moves, but the arrangement was good. But I've seen much better performances of that...
Not bad.. I liked the singing, and the talking part was really good! But.. The dancing lacked emotion. ^^ I totally understand if you didn't wanna do to much and have to sing and whatnot aswell, because you run out of air.
All Girls school? Wheres the Tango??? The characters didn't really seem seperated at all. They could have all been the same people. :( Like in the broadway show the characters were all very distinct. :(
This production of the musical "Chicago" is very... blazé, if we will. The actors possess no passion, no energy, no spirit and no "umph.” The girls seem bored and tired of the show. They don't care about the characters they are supposed to be. They can sing, I give you that, but they do not connect with the audience, nor do they have the right timbre or agressiveness that their characters should possess. The actors also seem to lack creativity in movement / dance. Where did the Hungarian go?
You have to remember this was a performance at a highschool event, so they couldn't portray the full characters and attitudes, and also couldn't do a lot of the risque dancing that's in the video.
You guys did a great job with the vocals and I liked how you guys changed the song around. But I hated the talking in the background so I could hardly hear you guys. The dancing was ok.

I think most of you guys are confused...this was done as an entertainment act during our Senior Oscar Night. They didn't do the entire musical, just this song. It was put together in about 5 days, and they did as much as they could, with administration restricting them quite a bit. Take it for what it is...a high school talent performance.

we did it at my drama group - in a small church hall, and we had a dance, all knew our lines, had guys who danced and were passionate. we lost the video, otherwise we would put it on here! and we didn't wear lingeree, but it still looked sexy etc! x x x x

I understand that high school versions of musicals like this have to be toned down a bit, but holy crap! It was like "Cell Block Tap Your Foot and Go Down on One Knee a Lot"! And I didn't believe that ANY of the girls could ever get angry enough to kill their lovers! The singing was great, but in all honesty, putting on a musical is about so much more than just singing. It's about putting together voice, movement, and emotion. I just didn't see that here.

Come on guys...Dancing? Wow. None of it. Voices would have been better if you actually sang with emotion. Cicero? come on. You sound bored. And no Hunyak? guessing you wern't talented enough to learn the lines.

Wow that was horrible. My school did the whole production of Chicago and we danced our asses off. I was Squish and all six of us had to dance and sing on 4 - 6 ft platforms. Not to mention we actually had a Hunyak who knew her lines. And your "dancing"...you would have been better with out it.

Wow. I played Cicero at my school. You sounded bored, you all do and we didn't have a hunyak but we replaced it with a girl who knew her spanish and we sang AND danced. I DANCED the TANGO and SANG. We all had different additudes and made sure you could tell the differences. You need more energy.

let me guess: There was no Hunyak (Uh-uh!) because no one could learn the text...
Well, the singing sounds a little bit strange some parts and there are to few different moves, but the arrangement was good. But I've seen much better performances of that...

Not bad.. I liked the singing, and the talking part was really good! But.. The dancing lacked emotion. ^^ I totally understand if you didn't wanna do to much and have to sing and whatnot aswell, because you run out of air.

All Girls school? Wheres the Tango??? The characters didn't really seem seperated at all. They could have all been the same people. :( Like in the broadway show the characters were all very distinct. :(

This production of the musical "Chicago" is very... blazé, if we will. The actors possess no passion, no energy, no spirit and no "umph.” The girls seem bored and tired of the show. They don't care about the characters they are supposed to be. They can sing, I give you that, but they do not connect with the audience, nor do they have the right timbre or agressiveness that their characters should possess. The actors also seem to lack creativity in movement / dance. Where did the Hungarian go?

I agree with pcy623. The singing was pro, but it just wasn't what they SHOULD sound like. It seems to be too "sweet"...

You have to remember this was a performance at a highschool event, so they couldn't portray the full characters and attitudes, and also couldn't do a lot of the risque dancing that's in the video.

You guys did a great job with the vocals and I liked how you guys changed the song around. But I hated the talking in the background so I could hardly hear you guys. The dancing was ok.
