  • @TheAyrricka

    Just convert it, then.

  • GO Janet!!! We love you!!!

  • :) real music.YESSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • - this was supposed to be on the Rhythm Nation album.

it sounds closely to "The Knowledge"

  • when I use too do mix tapes back in the day, I use too put this song on them and people would always ask about this song. most people didn't know that they had the song.

  • After hearing this song, I thought about my father, who hasn't been in my life for 15 and half years. Thanks, yhu Janet for songs you record, it about todays problems

  • This is my first time hearing this one, sounds good. Reminds me of the break down at the end of the Rhythm Nation video.

  • woooooooooooooooooooooooooow OMG JANET JACKSON I WONDER IF JOSEPH HEAR THIS SONG

  • The whole conept of this song is currently the story of my life...

  • TELL ME

  • What year was this album released?

  • @MultiDianemarie it was a b side for the Miss You Much single, 1989

  • @NastyKitty100 Thanx

  • She is singing her ass off,and from the heart. Love U J.

  • I like this song !

  • i love this shit1 very velvet rope!

  • Brilliant stuff!

Joseph was and still is someone no one can understand or grow to love.

'Tell me that you need me! Tell me that you love me!'

He never - EVER told them he loved them. Never hugged them. Never cared for them but as moneymakers. Sad really.

  • This proves that unpopular songs can be GREAT! This is my absolute favorite from "Rhythm Nation 1814."

  • i love it. should have been on Rthm Ntn, but still a hidden gem. Xcellnt post

  • I had to buy the "MIss You Much" maxi-single cassette (yeah that doesn't exist anymore) in order to get my own copy of that record because KISS-FM NYC 98.7 FM always had that fuckin' V.I.M. and Crazy Eddie commercials segue into either the beginning or the ending of that joint.

  • Gret song. powerful 2....

  • where can i get this song? i had it on casette and it broke lol

  • yo she read him on dis track!

  • This was supposed to be the follow up to Control called :Family', right? i remember getting this on the flip side of a Rhythm Nation single. That and there was another song called SKIN GAME.

  • Yaaas Janet came for Joseph in this one... I know thats right!

  • Just imagine the look on Joseph's face when he first heard this :-0 lol... just shows That Miss. Jackson fears no 1............ LOVE YA JANET!!! This is my new theme song

  • @prettyalicia21 i bet u he never heard it.........he didnt know janet was married lol, i doubt he heard this

  • This should have been released as a single instead of a b-side D:

    IT'S NEVER TOO LATE JANET!!

  • @nick34bart This should have been released on 1814 after STATE OF THE WORLD!!!! LOVE THIS TRACK, they should have made an extended remix to this and broke down the instruments and vocals and stuff!!!!!

  • This song slap way too hard..this ma new jam..lololol Love you Janet

  • wow, I haven't heard this song since the 80's. I love it!! I used to play this tape to death!!! lmbo!

  • "heyy" LMFAO! XD

  • Classic song!

  • This needs a fan made video.hhmmmm

  • @KILLBILLFREAK

i made a fan made video of this song

  • This is about Joe XD

She wrote it because she was sick and tired of relying on her father.

She "Needed" Him but the tables soon turned when she became a global superstar and He relied on her financially (That Money Hungry Father!) and emotionally.

Joe relied on his children especially Janet and Michael ever since they're careers were powerful..they were huge!

  • Guess who she is talking about?

  • love this song.

  • do b-sides even exist on songs anymore

  • This was on the b side of some singles of Miss you Much or one of the other Rhythm Nation singles, when it was released back in the ancient 80's. Still sounds like hotness to me.

  • this shoulda been on cd ., i don't think it's on jap cd, am i wrong?

  • *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys tore a page out of the glorious book of Janet Jackson. Listen to this and then go listen to *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys songs. They created their songs the same way Janet's are.

  • janet and michael :) yeah those years everyone was into boybands, janet and michael already had my heart and I listened to them instead and laughed at others my age

  • I love Janet.

  • i remember when they played this on the radio, love u jj. listen the lyrics are so profound. she talks about joe jackson and her mom. this song is deep

  • its on the japan promo 10 track love will never do without you promo mix cd i have it :) amazing xx

  • i love the little high note she holds towards the end it's so cute her voice is soft and cute

  • I love that part too. This is a great yet practically unknown song by Janet.

  • my dance group in high school----"TheRhythm" danced to this song---it was on the side b of maxi single of "Miss U Much"

  • that's really cool!

  • I've been looking for this song for nearly 20 years!!! The pop stations in Chicago used to play it! Thank you!!!!!!

  • dis song is FIYAH! and it's damn near 20 yrs old. can't wait for the new jam lewis jackson magic!

  • Damn shame for this entire album and b-sides to be 20 yrs old and still sound as fresh as the day it was released. Goes to show how boring and even plastic the music out now has become.

  • In the end she doesn't say Got that groove going...heeeyyyyy.

She says how'd that groove go... hey!

It was close but not correct.

  • i just love new jack swing!!!

  • @honeyblonde06 i agree!! new jack swing is the best! those were the days =)

  • i'm so glad i bought miss u much 20 years ago! otherwise i wouldnt have this great album cut!

  • i clearly hear her saying at the end "Got that groove going...heeeyyyyy...."

  • I think it's funny alot of people don't know about this song. It was the B-side to the Miss You Much single. I'm glad i'm not the only one who still have this and can still rock to this awsome song.

  • Nice :) beat sounds like a mix between rhythm nation, keith sweat and johnny gill

  • great song, thanks for posting

  • This was to be included on an album they were gonna call "Scandalous", which was supposed to be all her personal feelings about her family.

That idea got thrown out and "Rhythm Nation" was made instead.

  • Where did you hear that at?

  • YOU ROCK FOR POSTING ALL THESE JOINTS! this was and still is a BANGER!!!!

  • "How'd that groove go? Heyyyyy"

  • u know what? ive been listening to this song for 20 years......i never understood what she said at the end......until u wrote it lol......THANK U!!

  • LOL Me Neither

  • thanks for posting this

  • I can't believe she sang that song about Joseph. She didn't fear him at all. GO JANET!!

  • i think she did fear him and her only way of expressing that was through this song.....after control the record company wanted her to record an album called "scandal" which was to be about the family and all of the controversy......janet, jimmy, and terry went a long with it......and recorded this song........but they felt it wasnt right and went into another direction and we got "rhythm nation"

  • Thanks for the facts behind this song I never knew about the album that was intended, but I like this song it's hot!

  • all good! i love this song even though when u really listen to it, its full of misery

  • love it!

  • can you please post a link - i had this, but it was on tape and now its knackered - cani have the mp3 please!!

  • i have the song.

  • this song is the b side of the single "Miss u Much"

  • Oh man you taking me back I love this as well so much about her dad

  • This was my shit!!!! I thought I was the only one who remembered this :)

  • I still have my Miss You Much single with this song in great condition. Huge Janet Fan here!!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!! :)

  • I had it too and played the bitch out, lol!

  • lol :)

  • I LOVE THIS SONG, one of the best from RN, it shouldve been on the album, idk why it got cut

  • i remember this

  • It's a B-side to miss you much

  • ur right i loved this!

  • I didn't think many people listen too this. I used too put this on all my mixed tapes, everyone use too think this was a song that wasn't released in th U.S. I didn't bother correcting them, oh well. Keep up the good work missjanetmixes.
