hhhhm, i think i like the way she played for the 99.9F tour much better. loved when she would use a blow horn. plust the instrumentation was more complete for that tour.
i think the off bass fits the tune. she chose him for a bass player obviously Suzanne is happy with it. you going to argue with her?? listen to music with your heart not your ears...
The partnership with Mike Visceglia on bass -- for a pared-down sound and invariably fantastic acoustics -- really does work live. I've seen her in a few different band setups, and this is the one that suits her best.
Bass players don't get much credit for riffs, but this is definately one of them. If you get a chance to see them play, then don't miss the concert. They play a lot of the new album, it's great also.
I saw her in concert last night in Chicago. Great show. Her and Mike did the same thing, with just the bass. He's awsome and the song sounded wonderful. Great show. Very funny woman on stage also.

Not as tight as when I saw her, but it's a nice barebones version of the song, even if I prefer the album version of it :)

Crap bass player ruins her otherwise good performance.

Hey I beg to differ... this bass player's fantastic! Give him some credit! Maybe it's not as tight as the studio take(s), but whatever.

She doesn't play this one often.

Love Suzanne Vega and she's amazing live but sorry. This guy is not a very good bass player.

he's been playing with her since the 80ies, so he must be good...

If you like Suzanne's voice and music, just have a look at Lena Frenzel's music on YouTube:
