Anyway it's an unpleasant exercise because you are sitting there wondering whether you are insane or not. I think everyone that sees the backside as the frontside can just relax. From what I've learned schizophrenia didn't see the illusion at all. Still it wouldn't mean you have the disease if you couldn't. It would only be a indicator that you might.

If you want to know how to tell you aren't: If you see both masks as convex, than you aren't. Convex is pushing out. The other is concave, and just think of a cave and that you can go in a cave.
It's b/c schizophrenics brains don't "correct" what they see. So their brain doesn't say the nose goes out not in. It just accepts it.
@Retoon41 its doesn't work for people who have it and people who are likely to develop it. This test is actually used by psychologists to determine whether or not someone is likely to develop the disease. Kind of an early warning sign. But don't take my word for it. Look it up yourself.
I can see the illusion if I pause the video for a couple of seconds as it just starts to turn.
